Subject:Another Useless Update
Time:2:47 pm.
Yes, another useless update. Just thought I'd post some photos. Started my major project which will take up my entire life for the next 13 weeks. Yay Me! So ... whatever ... I'm rather uninspired ... must be the weather ... although i haven't worn a scarf in weeks!!! Huzzah!!!

(Okay, okay, I'm gonna try and do this blog thing properly, might use it as my production journal for my major ... who knows? ... and take more photos ... I don't seem to be taking photos anymore ...)

Scene from post-minor party at Reese's warehouse/home.
Jeffcott family portrait with Juan and Aarthi!!!Me and Moonsun. We took 2 photos but she closed her eyes in both so I posted the one where I look better hehe
Me and Mum on my recent sojourn to Sydney.Me and Dad on my recent sojourn to Sydney (at that German restaurant in the Rocks).
Sorry for all these photos of one dinner. It was a really nice dinner!!! With salmon and tuna sashimi ...... and duck and beef and pork strips on the bbq ...
... and green tea and green tea ice cream ...... and black sesame ice-cream!!!
Me and Bo at the requisite dumpling house. The old crew reunion! Ian, Kat and Matt at Passionflower post dumplings.
Long lost Dymocksians: Luke, Sarah and Jess at the dumpling house. Can I ever take a normal photo with these people??? On the way to passionflower ... mmm ...
Sundae "Challenge" at Micky's which we unanimously decided was more of a snack than a challenge ... LAME!My parents had high tea the afternoon before I flew back.

Subject:Home Sweet Home in Melbourne!!!
Time:7:50 pm.
Long time no blog yadda yadda. GREAT UPHEAVAL ... literally ... as in I have moved flat ... all the way to across the road. I WAS at 33 Jeffcott Street, I am now at 28 Jeffcott Street hehe I didn't even bother packing my things, on moving day I simply carried my clothes, hangers and all, across the road eheheh ... So after lots of panicking about being homeless, as of 1st June I finally had a place in Melbourne to call Home since my old flatmates had been there for more than a year before me so I always felt like I was in 'their' flat. Not to mention the mess ... anyhoo, I am now living with Juan (my baby!) and Aarthi (a girl from my course who started last semester as well) in a FULLY FURNISHED FLAT ... CHEAPEST MOVE EVER since we ALL lived in the city previously and we all ended up wheeling our stuff to the new place rather than catching public transport. So yeah, now I'm moving in with people I know reasonably well, it feels so nice to have a home I feel comfortable in now.

So since I have been a boring stay-at-home pudding, there aren't any cool photos so I took lots of photos of the flat (cos I LOVE IT!!! ... and cos my parents wanted me to). But that's not to say I haven't been ridiculously busy. What with the group project at uni ("Terra Transeo" a multiplayer 3D game!!!), making a spectacular music vid for YidCore (Click Here To Watch!!!) ... I did many little tidbits but the majorist one is the sausage maker eheheh I like getting the most violent scenes!!!), working 20 hours a week all whilst househunting (I HATE it more than jobhunting!!!) I HAVEN'T STOPPED AT ALL THIS LAST TWO MONTHS!!! I'M GOING CRAZY!!! AND NOW I HAVE TO FINISH MY OWN MINOR PROJECT FOR FRIDAY YAAAAAAAARGH!!!!!!!!!!!

We DID have a dinner party last week tho, but I forgot to take photos of me and Aarthi's hard slog ... I slaved away to make red wine risotto with roast vegies and sausages, poached pears and baked mushrooms with blue cheese ... mmm ... Aarthi made some dipping curry thing and rice pudding ... AND another girl made those yummy spicy rice cake thingies from korea ... everyone was ridiculously full after that!!! But unfortunately we don't have a dishwasher :-( so the morning after was rather daunting ...

But enough of that, by Friday all the stress will be over, there is a one-week Sydney trip to look forward to (including lots of home cooking by Mummy yay!!!) and I am finally going to buy Scrubs season Four on dvd so I can sit on the couch and blubber up for the winter. IT'S SO DAMNED COLD IN MELBOURNE ... I've totally taken to wearing the dreaded "skirt-jeans" combo cos it keeps me so warm. I'm only *this* far away from buying boots so I can tuck my jeans into them so they won't get wet when I walk ... argh ...

First things first ... our room pre-unpacking ...... and then POST-UNPACKING (it has not looked this organised since ...) Those paintings are part of the 'fully furnished' business ... and our lease agreement includes a 'no blu-tack or similar adhesive' clause ... which we are fully intending to ignore once we have the time to decorate ... and take all the tacky prints down!!!
Me working hard (as always) on my minor.Whose side looks better??? (Yes ... I have too many clothes ... shuddup ya'll)
Erm, the bathroom ... More tacky prints ... our loungeroom before all the furniture arrived (which it did last night)
New sofas and coffee table (dubbed 'Geek Central') and Juan being lazy cos he's already finished his semester ... which in fact means he's finished the course!!! Damn him and his carefree ways!!!Aah ... the perfect work station hehe all that's missing is my giant mug of chai and some munchies ...
Last week Juan was working hard on his exegesis as evidenced by his donning of the 'Thinking Cap' (yes, it's Nemo ... it's Aarthi's and she said it was a tissue holder but it clearly has a label stating 'Size: Youth' therefore we have decided it is MOST definitely a hat, or more precisely, a Thinking Cap!!!)The clean clean kitchen and some junk food (student staples mmm) ... again, has never been this clean since the photo was taken.
STOCKED FRIDGE YAY!!!I have no idea what I'm doing, but this is the breakfast bar which is now actually full of random stuff we don't know where else to put.
Dining area ... but we all eat in the lounge anyway ... unless we have guests ... so at the moment it is more of a work area than a dining area ...The balcony (I can see my old room from here!!! Though not at this angle obviously). Not as nice a view as my old balcony seeing as I used to be on the 5th floor and now I am on the 1st floor and so far it has been too cold to utilise but I have big plans to grow some herbs (basil, chives, parsley and possibly others) and maybe some baby tomatoes hehe ... see, 5 years of studying agriculture DOES come in handy ... not ...
And the outdoor 'patio' area. Also too cold to use so far. No idea what we are going to do with it ... possibly source a bbq for the summer would be the best option methinks.Being a boy, Juan bought himself a PS2 game after finishing his exegesis ... 'Guitar Hero'!!! It's super fun as seen by his totally rocking out in these pics ...
The boy where he belongs, sweating over the stove ... we had nachos and beer on our first night to ring in our arrival to our new home.Nothing to do with the flat but these are all my non-living babies all in one place ... my beautiful laptop (still as beautiful as ever!!!) ... and some newer acquisitions that make my life complete: iRiver e10 (in designer black of course daaahlings) courtesy of my parents for my bday ... and my Wacom Graphire 4 (courtesy of Juan for my bday!!!) which I have lovingly decorated with some decals courtesy of 'Guitar Hero' lol plus some snackies from Breadtop (I'm totally addicted to Breadtop ... help me ...)

Erm ... right ... that's all for today!!!

Subject:How Much Do I ROCK?
Time:1:49 pm.
I finally got my results for last semester's research work (zzzzz ...) and well, I think these speak for themselves:

The James Ruse nerd re-emerges ...

The music video is going slowly but looking good (progress reports on here and uni work is piling up but the group project is looking awesome although I AM Team Leader of the 2D section of the production team (another production blog here ... yes ... we'll see how that pans out ... I just wanted a role with the LEAST amount of responsibility! DAMMIT!

Um ... other than that I haven't done anything remotely interesting. Uni, work, sleep, uni, work, sleep ... and so it goes ...

8:51PM ....
Just as I was about to head off to work, my tutor from last semester asked me and Juan to work on a small project something to do with "The Incredible Hulk" style (Eric Bana stylez) and a music video. This course is so exciting! Even though this isn't directly related to the course ... PLUS it's cash ie taxfree hehe ... don't tell the ATO!

Subject:Happy April and Easter!!!
Time:9:04 pm.
Hope the Easter Bunny finds you well! Something interesting of note is that Animation Club (well a cross section of anyway) are doing a PAID job (minimal moolah but still, its quite exciting!) this month; an animated music video for YidCore. Keep you posted on developments! As always, I have chosen a role of least responsibility ie animating and compositing so all the thinky-thinky stuff I'm leaving to the more inspired members of the crew.

We also watched 300 (from Frank Miller's comics ... he also wrote Sin City which also was made into an incredible movie) which I really liked especially the first slow-mo, fast-mo fight scene (if you see the movie you'll see what I mean). And Xerxes' appearance? I think the Mardi Gras aesthetic will be quite easy to choose this year! Not really a movie for the intellects (or the kids ... or the historically correct ... or the grannies ...) but visually quite stunning even if we WERE sitting third row from the front ... I also made the choice to share a large frozen coke more so out of curiousity than the bargain upgrade price of 50c from a medium to a large (and at $5.20, that's a WHOLE lotta coke). Me and Juan managed to finish it, however, I was a little red-cordial hyper afterwards I believe.

Anyhoo, the best part about the long weekend (besides the lack of tap tap tapping at my data-entry job) was that my parents came to visit AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS FOR THE FONGS: good food!!! Unfortunately, the first spectacular Japanese meal, my camera ran out of batteries so only dodgy camera phone photo evidence exists (which I have yet to retrieve from my Mum's camera) of the sour plum cocktail, sake, $14 bottle of still water and the scallops (super yummo!), seaweed trio salad (yummo!), some weird savoury lemon egg custard thing with a million different bits inside (like mushroom, carrot, baby bok etc that I wasn't much of a fan of but my Dad seemed to like the most), chef's special sashimi (clam sashimi is simply to DIE FOR dahlings), beef fillet cooked on a hot marble plate (mmm meeeeat) and red bean pancake with miso ice cream (not rich enough to overkill the start of project "Expansion of Jo").

Oh, a couple of weeks ago I managed to come down with a kidney infection. YAY ME ... Actually, I think I must have had it mildly for quite a few weeks cos I've been quite tired and lethargic recently but I attributed this to the 930am-3pm classes, then studio work until my 6-10pm shifts, not eating regularly or properly and not sleeping all that regularly either! I guess feverish manifestation was my body telling me to STOP STOP STOP!!! Although I haven't stopped, I AM making a concerted effort to be healthy(er) from now on ... hopefully ...
Anyway, why bring this up? Because having a kidney infection comes with a side of nausea the likes of which I have never had before (I'm not much of a spewer really) and somehow even after recovering, just the thought of eating meat made me want to hurl. So my first resolution was to have a STEAK and POTATO the second the thought of dead animal chunks didn't make me sick. Luckily this happened before this weekend of gorging so Jo comes up trumps again!!!

Enough talk, time to bring on the goodies!!!
First things first, on the Saturday we had a little adventure to get to the seafood restaurant Sails in Elwood Park which faces the water. This adventure involved a tram ride, a taxi ride that started off in the wrong direction, a few mobile calls to the restauant and a rather dark windy road. Once we got there, all was good (the restaurant was really nice without being pretentious and with simple understated decor) what was there to do but have a cocktail? Vodka. Of course.
The Fong's and our spoils.STEAK!!! And POTATO!!! And SWEET POTATO!!!
But enough with the dallying we call entrees and mains, we all know the real Jo looks her best when stuffing her face with sweet delights. From what I remember its a lemon parfait, chocolate truffle slice, some french word with some alcohol infused berries buried inside, blackcurrant mouse cake with blackcurrant sorbet (think ribena, think how much I like ribena and there you have it, my favourite dessert of the night) and some fresh fruit. Yes I SHARED them all *ahem*Post-gorging in my parents' hotel room lol
Waiting for a tram to the Docklands, there appears there was some fun fair going on at Fed Sq. Am I too old for ferris wheels? Personally I think not but the opportunity didn't really come up!Random night shot of the Docklands. Kind of like Circular Quay crossed with Darling Harbour but with MUCH LESS PEOPLE. I like things quiet.
Dodgy non-tripod shot of Telstra Dome.Post massive italian meal (antipasto, salmon pasta, roast potatoes and green salad) we headed (read: waddled) down to Hot Chocolate at the other end of the Docklands (thats FIVE different chocolate cafes I know of in Melbourne now!!! I LOVE THIS CITY!) and had our final super gorge: hazelnut dacquoise with chocolate rocher and butterscotch ice creams and a dark hot chocolate for me. Mmmm ... is that chocolate still on my face?
