Subject:Summer Days
Security:Public

Hey everybody. I need to update.

So here's what's up. Summer is here. I'll never have to see my old roommate ever again. Ah... sure is nice.

I just got done doing the TAPP musical "South Pacific." It was fun, and I got paid $100 to play my trombone. I wish everyone would be willing to pay me $100 to play my trombone. It was a blast, and again my sister and I got to do a Brother/Sister musical. Check out the pictures on the website.

I'm going to get a job very soon. I applied to a bunch of computer stores with no luck. However, I have been keeping busy fixing the computers of family friends, so I am making some spending cash. Tomorrow I'm calling Billy Miles of Madison Heights to get hooked up with a job as "Park Ranger." I guess I'll get to ride a bike around Madison Heights parks, use a cell phone and walkie-talkie, check out for suspicious activity and do odd jobs around the parks. For $9/hr to ride my bike, that's a job I think I'll take. Hopefully I'll get an awesome badge that says "Park Ranger: John Zalewski." Ha, I'd get a kick out of that.

I just started reading Children of Dune. The musical set me behind, but after reading 4 continuous chapters tonight, I remember how completely awesome the Dune series really is.

That's about it for now. I wish it would stop raining so much so I could cut the lawn sometime before next week wednesday. I hope to update this journal and the website more often during the summer. Keep checking back!

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Subject:30 Things I hate about my roommate
Security:Public

Well, where do I start? Right now, I'm pretty pissed. This total piece is now calling ME the bad roommate? Here's a comment I found in his away message today:
ROOMATE EATING CEREAL LIKE A FUCKING HORSE.

Well, how about that? Let me list the things I would say about my roommate if I were going to complain, which I am doing right now. I call this 30 Things I hate about my roommate

30 Things I hate about my roommate:

1.Coming into the room at 2, turning on every appliance you own, and waking me up
2. Listening to the shittiest music all the time at full blast
3. Not going to class when you have a small cold
4. Blowing your nose loud and abnoxiously EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU DO IT
5. Blowing your nose every 10 minutes
6. Not taking care of yourself, thusly getting sick very often
7. Smelling like shit because you don't shower
8. Having a nasty as shit looking girlfriend
9. Not lofting and using way too much space on the ground, not enough with the 13 FOOT CIELINGS THE ROOM HAS
10. Not cleaning your side of the room
11. Cutting your hair in my garbage can
12. Not having a garbage can on your side of the room because it is filled with too much unorganized SHIT
13. Not emptying the trash cans EVER
14. Sucking up power by having a refrigerator with nothing in it
15. Using the telephone I purchased
16. Having shitty friends who write stupid ass notes on my desk
17. Being a stereotypical art major, having an eye piercing, weird hair, and stupid ass glasses.
18. Your mom calling almost every day last semester
19. Swearing directly to your fucking mother, you giant piece of shit
20. Putting my fans in the window when it is 30 degrees outside
21. Opening the window after I took the fans home
22. Asking me to stay somewhere else for the weekend so you can have sex with your chick who looks like a guy
23. Clearing your throat every 5 seconds because you're sick
24. Not taking any medicine to get better when you're sick
25. Not paying attention to the fact that I'm studying for an important test.
26. Not cleaning the ground
27. Having a shitty ass punk style of dressing
28. You breathe too much
29. You don't fall out of windows or off of tall buildings enough
30. You were born.

Subject:Why do certain words exist?
Security:Public

Has anyone recently used the word "guestimation?" If so, I don't want to know. Why does the word guestimation exist? I do believe that an estimate is a guess, so is a guestimate a guess on a guess? I mean, come on, how many guesses do we have to take? What a stupid word.

So the band released a CD of them last year playing John Williams stuff, yesterday I guess, maybe a few days ago, I'm not sure. All I know is that I didn't buy one, and I haven't gone a day without hearing the CD, which might I add, only contains 3 tracks, OVER AND OVER. And you think I would be able to go to the computer lab and not hear it... nope, that would be incorrect. Someone about 20 ft away is blasting it, not caring what anyone else in the computer lab is trying to do. I mean I'm trying to do some important work here! And all I keep hearing are the all too "getting stuck in your headness" tunes of John Williams. I mean I like John Williams, and I like the Michigan Marching Band, but why here in the computer lab? Alright, the CD just started for the 4th time!

In closing, the Matrix Reloaded sucks, and the final movie probably will too, but the first one rocks.

"I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to an area, and you multiply, and multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet, you are a plague, and we are the cure."

Subject:Man, I suck at updating
Security:Public

Well I don't update a lot. It's probably really boring to read my journal. Oh well.

Today I had a dream that I was doing math problems, and I was just cranking them out. Then I went to math class and got a ton of points for my mathematical brilliance.

When I woke up, I discovered that I unconsiously turned
off my alarm clock, and that my math class had just started, and I was still in bed. Oh well. It happens.

So the movie Alien is out in theatres until thursday (I guess it's a special Halloween plug) and I dont' get to go see it. I'm very dissappointed, because Alien is such an awesome movie. It's ok though, because when I have my New Year's Alien party, everybody can watch Alien with me (or play Starcraft).

Yeah so we kicked some sParty butt on saturday. Check out the pictures on the website. They are all really high resolution and may take a minute to download, so I apologize for that. The game was totally awesome. The accommodations made for us by the Spartan band were 300, 300 year old wooden chairs for us to sit on. Talk about crap. It's alright though, because I just stood on my chair the whole time trying not to break it. I heard I was on TV, and that's pretty cool too. But the most important thing is that U of M won, and if we win the rest of our games, we go to the Rose Bowl. How awesome would that be to take a free trip to Pasadena with the Michigan Marching Band? I think it would be totally awesome. That is as long as I don't get screwed out of block when it comes time for Final Look.

In closing, I need a ride home friday. My parents will be at a wedding and can't pick me up. If you want to come pick me up in Ann Arbor on Friday around 6 pm (or later), that would be totally awesome.

Hey I'm at the SLC (Science Learning Center) Using a MAC! Whoa! No, actually my jumpdrive won't work on PC's here, and the macs have really nice LCD swivel screens. I have no idea whether or not I spelled swivel right, nor do I care.
Uh, I made the cake show for pregame this weekend. It's going to be awesome. We will be cramming 235 people inbetween the 45's (for those of you who are not math majors, that is 10 yards). It's a really big circle, and it looks awesome. Pictures to come soon.
I got a new door a couple days ago. It is always locked, and therefore anytime I leave the room, I need my keys. Well, not being used to the door, I forgot that last night at 11:00, and was locked out until my roommate came back at 12:30. Sucks doesn't it? Piece of crap door.
Today I have an engineering project due, marching band challenges, and a four hour chem lab. Pretty crappy day huh? Well, my organic chemistry lecture is starting in about 10 minutes, so I'm going to get going.

What up??

Sorry it has taken me a week to update, but I've been bogged a bit with work since last week was only 3 days long, and of course I wasn't going to write during my fall break (deep lucious vacation). This week is going to be crazy too, due to my Engineering Exam and Engineering team project due on Thursday. So if the website or this journal doesn't get updated, that's the reason why.

Anyway, did anyone else get to watch someone chug 30 oz of Aunt Jemima Syrup on saturday? That's right, you weren't at Bone Prog. For those of you who don't know, Prog (or short for progression) is a huge party done every semester (I think???). Anyway, we start at one house, and progress to different houses... pretty clever name huh? So there's alcohol and not alcohol, and everyone's happy. Anyway, we went to about 7 different houses this year, and each house had it's own unique drink. At house 7, we played a game called "upside-downs." This is where two people lie back in chairs while beverages are poured directly into their mouths, and they swallow as fast as they can, and whoever goes the longest wins. this years winner did 50 seconds, with the closest contender around 30 I think. Well we had non-alcoholic drinkers too, so a few guys wanted to do something stupid anyway. So one of the bones went out and bought two bottles of maple syrup. He challenged another bone, and after the 5 second countdown, they both began to chug the syrup. The challenged got through approx 1/3 of his bottle before noticing what a stupid thing he was doing, but the challenger finished his bottle of syrup in about 1 & 1/2 minutes, (400 g of sugar). Well he belted it about 2 hours later, but no one will forget the SYRUP CHALLENGE!

Next Prog may contain the A1 Steak Sauce challenge, and I may be just stupid enough to go for the title.

Sorry, I have nothing to talk about. The message board is really getting on my nerves because none of them work the way I want them to. Anyway, I'm going to work on it this weekend. The website will be down for a while this weekend while I am at home reformatting my computer, etc. When it is back up, all of the problems should be fixed though. Catch ya later

5. People who think stem cell research is unethical

Although there are a lot of people that get on my nerves, there are still enough people to make this world a better place. Thank you if you are one of those people.

Subject:Flash

Today was a pretty good day. Between Calculus and Organic Chemistry, I went to the computer lab to do some useless programming, when I discovered that the computer had Flash installed. I decided to try it out, and I took some tutorials, and found that I really liked it. So I came back after Chem and tried it out here. It took a good hour to get used to, but afterwards I was able to create a set of flash buttons for the website. I think it looks wicked awesome. It came out much better than expected, and now as I get more experienced, I can create even more interactive buttons, but for now, it will have to just be color changing magic.

I have posted the Lord of The Rings Suite by Johan De Meij under the music section. Those of you who have not been priviledged to hear these arrangements should take some time and do so.

Well I worked pretty much all day on the website, but I sure did have a lot of fun doing it. I hope this will be enjoyable to everyone, and I hope it won't grow old and boring. I have put up a lot of music, some pictures, some of Chris's work, and now the journals of all three of us.

In other news, I think I'm going to join Phi Mu Alpha. I've been given a bid, and now all I have to do is follow through with it. Tonight the fraternity came to my door and sang and then said to come with them, so I did. It was really awesome, and I got to know some of my (hopefully) future brothers better. I'm really excited, and I hope it turns out to be a valuable experience

So it's almost 12:30, and I'm pretty tired, and I have an 8:30 class tomorrow. Hope everyone is enjoying the website. Catch ya later.
