why do americans like to claim "the red white and blue" as the an american catchphrase. there are plenty of other countries with the flag made of those exact three colours? do other countries call refer to the flag colours in the same way?
does canada (or maybe japan) go out and claiming "ole red and white"?
just wondering.

i haven't really updated this in a while.
i woke up rather early this morning. around 4.30am. i woke up as the AC kicked back on, and i could have swore some neighbor's washer was jumping around during its spin cycle. i was hot in the bedroom, so i migrated back to the living room sofa and attempted to fall asleep there. failed. so sat up and proceeded to finish up ep 3 and watch ep 4 of the Honey & Clover drama. i then went out for a quick early morning walk. but that didn't last long. the new neighbors dogs kept barking up a storm when i'd walk by. as shortlived as the walk was, it was still really nice. it's kinda nice waking up early on your days off. i don't think this'll become habit, as one of my main motivations to make it to the weekend is sleeping in. but still, maybe once every so often.
i don't have plans for today... maybe clean the apartment. but happy independence day, everyone!

i'm hungry.
this past saturday, i had a lunch date with gianna. unfortunately, she had to cancel and asked if dinner on wednesday would be good. i said it was.
it's wednesday, past 7pm. i think gianna forgot about dinner. i don't want to call her. i don't want to make her feel bad, if she did forget. i had a pretty small lunch today anticipating a good dinner. i'm starving now and i don't want to eat the whatever i have in the kitchen. i don't want to make anything.
i'm feeling quite lazy to walk for some fast food, and it's not really what i want right now.
i'm quite tempted to just pull my blanket and pillow to the sofa and watch more Galileo eps. didn't have much gusto today at work, and it seemed some noticed. i am tired.

today has been an unexpected day of productivity. i had planned on running errands today then coming back to the apartment to do whatever i pleased. perhaps, a movie on the sofa. or working on more GO!GO! 7188 lyrics. or reading more of The Code Book.
i didn't do all the errands i had planned. i didn't grab crickets for the lizards. and i didn't feed alohomora. but i mailed out the packages i've been putting off for the last month. and i did drop by the bank to pick up my yen. i dropped by the apt. office to sign the lease renewal forms.
when i got home, i did a bit net surfing for no more than an hour. then the strangest thing happened. i cleared up the area around dita and started working on my thesis again. no groaning or frustration. just picked up where i left off and went at it. it's past 9pm now. i've been working on this for well over 5 hours, and i've not really paused to eat a decent meal. i've pretty much crossed everything off the thesis list of things to do, save for one thing. fixing my reference citations in the paper. it should fairly easy, as all i need to put is the numbers of the refs in superscript throughout the paper. i would do this now, but i think i need to go through the entire thesis and make sure i've cited all that needs to be cited, so i dont' have to renumber refs and confuse myself.
i'm quite proud of myself for working on this so long and so easily. and now, i think i may go out and feed alohomora and myself now.
