    Increase Traffic: The Right Kind
When you start out trying to increase traffic to your website, you find out what the best keywords are for conversions. Some of us when first starting out speculate what will be the right keywords for our site, but that really isn't the most effective way to go about an effective advertising campaign. You could get first page on Google for the "perfect" keyword for your niche, and find out that it may not have very many visitors at all because people were thinking of something entirely different than what your site is offering. One of the easy traps to fall into is that people may be looking for information concerning the subject matter, and they don't have spending on their mind.

So, while your goal is clearly to increase traffic, you should increase traffic by choosing some very precise keywords that will produce clicks and cash. One of the ways to do this is to check in on your competitors. Dig up what keywords the major players in your niche are going after. You can use SEOSpyglass or Keyword Spy. Your competitors have blazed a trail ahead of you; find out what they are ranking highest for, and go after those keywords like a madman. If the only goal you have is to increase traffic, you may be misguided. Don't forget that if you get 10 hits a day, but those are very quality visitors and the bounce rate is very low and the time spent on your site is very high, you are probably going to be doing well. While you do want to increase traffic, you want to increase the right kind of traffic, not individuals that aren’t looking to buy what you are selling.

Another easy method is to use the free Google Adwords Keyword Tool. But find alternatives of a main keyword, a long tail keyword that may not have as much competition for it, though is a "money" keyword. If you can rank high for 'buy ______' or '______ for sale', and they don't have a ton of competition, then definitely try to increase traffic by focusing your one-way links on those. It can be much easier to rank for a long tail than for a very short keyword phrase, and it is more effective sometimes because it is more descriptive for what a buyer is really looking for. Think in terms of what visitors would type in to land on your description.

One more way to increase traffic the right way is to pay close attention to the Related Searches at the bottom of a search page. This is a filter showing what people are seeking. Pick some of these into the above-mentioned Adword Tool and research to see if they get some decent traffic. These can be overlooked keyword phrases, but real great ones!

Finally, exchange links with some other website owners. I did this by telling a few that I recommended their sites elsewhere by placing their link on some other sites. I then pointed out to them where those links were. I also placed their link on my own site. They were happy to reciprocate. Think of unique ways to increase traffic, but the right kind of traffic, and you'll be in business for the long run!

Increase Website Traffic With Long Tail Keywords
If you're absorbed by the thought of money from the internet you get it that you have to increase website traffic to be successful. If you have a goal to make a lot of cash you have to focus on targeted keywords that will get visitors spending their dollars. Once you boost up organically website traffic to a site with a good product that matches what your visitors are looking for you increase your odds of getting the sale.

Obtaining traffic isn't the end all. Targeted traffic can be achieved by using either PPC or through organic search. If you use PPC to increase website traffic you may well invest a lot of money fast so it is important to know that your website will make buyers out of the visitors and actually make you more money than you are spending.

The cool deal about search traffic that's organic from Google is that is isn't even a cotton-pickin' penny. Not only is it free but you can know that people coming to your site are attracted to your offer by a focus on your keywords with super accuracy. For example, if you ranked for the term ‘red shoes’ you may get a nice increase in website traffic for folks searching for red shoes, but a lot of these people might only want to check out the latest fashions and aren't ready at this point to purchase. Of course, if you ranked high for the keyword ‘buy red shoes’, you will be luring in a visitor that is more targeted and in a mood to do some buying.

The reason long tail keywords convert better is because you get a more targeted visitor to your site. Increase website traffic with more long tail keywords that are words that get buyers instead of window shoppers that may be used for information seekers browsing the net. The visitors you get from long tail keywords can be fine tuned so that you are weeding out the free information seekers from the buyers. With a targeted approach to increase website traffic you can literally guide web surfers searching the web with full intentions of spending money today over to your own site so that they spend it there.

Using targeted keyword research will help you begin with keyword phrases that are more optimized to lead buyers to your site. When you increase website traffic with long tail targeted keywords that line up buyers you'll notice strong conversions to sales and ultimately have more revenue. Do your research first to avoid attracting tons of people to your website that are just there to see the fine layout. If you enjoy writing maybe that is good enough for you. If you enjoy money making you will target your traffic for an increase in sales on your web site.
