Bleh. [16 Nov 2004|03:30pm]
I've been writing some interesting things in the LJ recently aside from radio show updates.

Speaking of which, there was no radio show last night. There will be next week though.

I'm tired of having 3 journals. Two of them are scarcely read anyway.

Maybe if I had a computer I'd update here more and write something of substance (though only 2 people tops read it), but I don't and I don't care to have this.

To tell the truth, I don't care to have anything really right now. I don't care to do anything.

Sadly, I have entirely too much to do. I wish I didn't have to be myself this week. This week is horrible.

It's funny.

I'm supposed to be working on papers, but all I can do is listen to Rilo Kiley and think about what it would be like to feel things I told myself I never again would.

Distance makes the heart grow fonder.

I can't stress this enough. [13 Oct 2004|10:44pm]
If you didn't watch the debates or otherwise have NOT been involved in any form with the political process recently, websites, zines, etc, then you have absolutely no right to really bitch about anything going on right now.

That said, I hope those of you that did or have, see the apparent inherent logical fallacies that exist with the Bush administration and weigh your decision carefully. We need people to be more informed, but my brain can't grasp what his administration says and does versus what Kerry hopes to do and has said in the debates. Fuck voting records. People change their minds over time. This isn't 19 fucking 90. This is 2004. What happened then doesn't fucking matter. What happens now does. Get the fuck off your ass and do something about it if you want to bitch.

If you don't want to bitch, then just don't do anything and it'll be over soon. However, the reason we're ignored as youth is because we generally don't do anything. So just know that you choosing not to do anything or care contributes to the very problem and the very reason you choose not to contribute (I don't care for either candidate because they never talk about what I care about). They don't talk about what we care about as much because we young'uns don't vote or do anything to make them care. It's political suicide to go against this and that killed Kucinich and Dean and probably has hurt McCain before too.

Ugh. I want to like tear into something right now but I am NOT for violence. So I'm going to go on my friend's radio show and see how many people we can get fired up to write us or something.

Address below.

Shit has hit the fucking fan. [13 Oct 2004|12:38pm]
[ mood | enraged ]

Okay, so the Wednesday before last, the Kerry Coalition on my campus, went around and drew white CHALK outlines of bodies, much as you'd see at a crime scene, and wrote messages on them protesting the Bush administration, the war, etc. Things like "I died in Iraq so I wasn't able to vote" and such.

If what my friend Alex here tells me is true, approximately 30 minutes ago or so, there was a car out in the campus's "Red Square", an open area where rallies and events are held, that had "Kerry" spraypainted on the side that was being demolished by a group with sledgehammers. We believe this group to be the College Republicans, but we're not sure.

YET, these same College Republicans vehemently protested our CHALK protest, which I remind you did NOT involve malicious destruction of property and an advocation of violence being okay (Yes, apparently it is okay to smash things with hammers if you don't like them - remember that the next time your neighbor plays his/her music you don't like, go smash him/her in the face with a hammer - fuck) and at the same time represents a complete HYPOCRACY of their initial point. We protested peacefully. How the flying fuck is this peaceful?

I'm really, really incensed right now and if you're Republican, stop supporting childish ignorance or tell your party to step the fuck down.

If you're independent, consider this. I wonder if shit like this is happening at other campuses since tonight is the final debate and so far, the Democrats definitely have been doing better overall.

*clenches fist*

So after investigation, it was determined that all of this was the doing of the German Club in relation to the Octoberfest event on campus that began today.

Weak sauce. Ugh.

Radio Show [12 Oct 2004|10:30am]
[ music | Tilly - Shake It Out ]

I played some Tilly, Rilo Kiley, and Elliott Smith songs you all would have approved of. I hope some people were listening.

I'm still rockin' the mellow mood. Though it's a bit colder than I'd like. Having to put my hoodie on when I sleep isn't a good sign of weather in days to come.

I can't decide whether I should get a computer to replace mine or save up and get a cool instrument of some kind. I'm nowhere near ready to decide though. Any thoughts?

Today is the last day to register to vote in MD. So get on it. :)

Wowee Zowee [11 Oct 2004|03:11pm]
I haven't updated this in forever. But I think I'm going to start doing that again. Drama exists when I become introspective with either of my other journals and I know the few people that read this or would read this definitely will appreciate more than just simple updates, even if they don't reply. Though I hope they do.

I also might post some poetry or song lyrics or something.

For a real journal post though:

Tilly, Rilo, and Now It's Overhead in Philly were awesome. I'm glad I got to see Connie again and I'm glad I got to meet Hillary and company from Pittsburgh. That made the experience much more memorable.

Radio show tonight. 11pm-1am. EST. http://streaming.salisbury.edu:8080/ramgen/encoder/wsur.rm
IM us at WSUR Request.

Normally we play anything from screamo and noise to indie rock/pop to ambience, but tonight, I'm in a mellowish mood, so it's mostly indie rock/pop/singer-songwriter stuff. We will take requests for other things, but this is my focus tonight.

I hope to hear from some of you!

For the few that still linger on. [05 Jul 2004|11:36pm]
Got the job at Domino's as a driver. Worked for 12 hours on Saturday. Made money. All was good.

Went to see FDAI play at FDR in Philly. Despite Kati's insisting that they didn't, I thought they did well. Bought their demo and I'm loving it. :D

Went to see if a Takethemic show was going on with A Day in Black and White among others, playing. It wasn't and the show was cancelled.

But nothing measures up to tonight.

I totaled my car. Not even like totaled it, but it can be fixed. Totaled as in it's gone. My car, is gone. RIP

Here's the scoop:

On my way to Domino's in proper Domino's attire, I was getting off I-95 at the Aberdeen exit to get onto East-22. For those who don't know, you come up a ramp and sit at a traffic light, waiting to go left. I was behind a black GMC blazer/SUV type thing that was very very large.

The light turned green and the cars began to accelerate from their resting points through the turn and to points beyond. I made it through the turn and hadn't gone much more than 100 feet at the most, probably not even, when I noticed the black GMC blazer/SUV type thing that was very large, also was not moving, at all. It had apparently come to a complete sudden stop while accelerating on this stretch after the turn, in which the speed limit is 40 and cars generally get to 35 with traffic. I was going around 25, give or take a few mph. I hit my brakes. They failed to respond to save me. I slammed into the back of this guy hard. My foot bounced off the bottom of the dashboard area and to this hour, the top part of my foot is swollen and throbbing. But I believe it's just a sprain and will be okay, we're not sure. My arm was cut by something. Airbags popped out and I was later told that even with my seatbelt, because I was moving at a constant speed, akin as if I drove it into a wall, that I would have launched from the car, through my belt, and died on impact without the airbags, because I'm such a lightweight. I don't recall having a thought before the accident so if such a scenario would have happened, I would have died without a final thought in my head. That terrifies me.

The GMC was fine. My car was completely totaled and something in the engine whirred and buzzed to let me know that the car was history. I struggled to get my door open and stand up, on one good foot. I surveyed what had happened. The guy in front of me, was fine. His rear was unscathed. Looking around to the front of his vehicle, I found pretty much the same. Meanwhile my front was in pieces all over the road. He asked me what happened and I explained and he walked away. He called the police though, so that's a good thing.

Now, the other factor to this is the third car. Which he hit with his front. That car's rear was definitely caved in and leads me to believe that the black GMC wasn't quite to a complete stop before I hit him and my impact resonated through his vehicle to damage the car in front of him. But I'm not sure for I couldn't see around him while driving. Everyone in the 2 vehicles was okay, and unharmed except myself.

I called my mom, I called my dad, I called Nick...I panicked and walked around, back and forth pacing. Waiting for my fate to be sealed. My mom called Domino's, who told me to stop by afterward. The police arrived. I got a citation for following too closely for $75. My car was towed through AAA to a place in Aberdeen. With my dad out of town til Saturday, that's going to be quite an issue. Without the money I was hoping to make as a driver, I now have lost the ability to pay off anyone and I might as well be in debt. I don't even want to know what my insurance is going to be after I call them tomorrow.

The officers were very nice to me and one of them was a crash specialist who was scratching his head at what happened between the GMC and the other car. We'll see. I'm waiting for the lawsuits to arrive. Nick and I unloaded my car of everything of value, except my CD player that's part of the stereo and is now gone, and moved it to his van. Including my $30 DC parking ticket from my stay there this past week/weekend.

I'm hobbling around as we speak with a foot wrapped with an ice bag. But I'm more worried about what's to come rather than the pain I'm feeling. I just thought I was getting my life in order finally and that things were going to be smooth and so much for that.

So, any plans I've made with anyone coming up are cancelled until I am on my feet again, in a car. Any money I owe people, I'm going to do whatever is necessary to pay off. Most of that goes to my dad for everything and then some.

I'm really depressed about this, but there's nothing I can do as of now. I just hope the repercussions of this aren't as bad as I fear they will be.

If you're reading this... [19 Apr 2004|11:37pm]
you should follow your dreams. Don't worry about what you can't do yet because we're all young and we're all still growing. Get out there and live the way you really want to and don't let anyone or anything stop you. You're pure and noble even if you digress and your internal compass will point you toward what you're looking for.

There's nothing like an honest smile.

Listening to lots of Circle Takes the Square lately, since I picked up their CDs at MacRock.

What else is there? Not much. Talking to someone...yeah. It's nice to have that going again, but I'm not sure why I fought so hard for a relationship in the first place. A few people on here know me better than I know myself and I hope they remember that.

If it stops raining, the sun might shine. If the sun shines, summer will come. I'm not sure I'm ready for that.

Updates and such. [06 Apr 2004|10:52am]
http://www.xanga.com/gatheraroundmygrave. Huge update posted about MacRock, being single, bringing trouble wherever I go in that subconscious, "I don't know how I do it" manner, and waxing philosophical about the future (i.e. WHAT THE FUCK AM I GONNA DO?)

I miss you. I miss everyone. I miss me too.
