3:48 pm - Happy Birthday Ira
Last night Hydroplayne played their first actual gig outside of a school setting. It was hardly a gig... only a friend of Sam's family's 55th birthday party. There were only about 20 people there, but every one of them seemed to enjoy the band. It was a relatively short set list, only 9 songs, but that's all the band knows how to play. There was demand for an encore, so Hydroplayne played "Bog" a second time. After that, some of the old geezers wanted to jam, so they took up the instruments of Hydroplayne and rocked out some nice blues. And then Sam, Craig, and Amir jammed on "Gloria" with the older musicians, with Sam on bongo, Amir on shaker and cowbell, and Craig on bass. Overall, it was great fun. The band would like to extend their incredible gratitude to Simon, who took out a lot of his time to help them transport and set up equipment. Until Next Time....
