  i can play you the same three chords on a guitar over and over. i will play them slowly and i won't play them well. i have learned other chords, but these are the ones that my fingers can recreate after a moments remembering. i am not a rockstar although i enjoy the idea of saying my band name from some location to crowds of people and then rocking out with my same three chords. kids everywhere becoming empowered by my inability to mash down more than one string at a time and my voice-made-rough by smoking and blowing jack daniels and captain morgan over and over again.

you wonder how these things begin. i wonder how these things end.
