warning: this will be long...
so, here is my near death experience/really freaky story for the month:
i was hanging out with matt, and missy called on his cell phone, so we pulled into a parking lot and talked to her for a bit. then matt went to start his car, but his battery was totally and completely dead, like it didn't even make that sound that batteries make when they try to start... it was gone. so we decided to walk to pep boys, which was only like 2 blocks away... but we got there at 8:05 and they closed at 8:00. there were still people in the store, but they wouldn't let us in. i knocked on the window and mouthed that we had an emergency, but the communists still turned us away. so matt asked a guy that was comming out of the store to give us a jump. the guy looked really nice... but he said he had to get gas first, and he offered us a ride back to the car, f we wanted to go get gas with him... so we went. it probably wasn't a smart idea, but we were at a loss for options. so we went to the gas station, and matt made neighborly manly conversation about cars and mechanical thingies and such and i sat in the back seat hyperventilating. the guy got $29.00 worth of gas. i was sitting there thinking 'who needs $29.00 worth of gas? i know, a person who is planning on kidnapping people and driving them to mexico needs $29.00 worth of gas!' so i got scared... but the guy ended up being really nice and very helpful.
aany way, the plot thickens:
as we were at the gas station, a bunch of ambulances drove by. we got the car running and headed home. on the way, we have to go down a twisty road which was about 2 minutes away from where we were stopped. well, there was a really really baaaaad accident. thats where the ambulances were going. so i was thinking... it takes emergency vehicles like 5-10 minutes to get to an accident site, right? so the accident would have happend about 12 minuets ago, give time for the accident and someone to make a phone call to 911. well. if you add it all up, we would have been on that exact road at about that same spot at that exact time. it gets more creepy. matt's car is brand new. the battery is the original battery and is supposed to last for 4-5 years. his was only 3 years old. it should not have died. and even if it did die, it shold have totally and completely f*cked out on us. it should still have had enough juice to make a revving sound. and once you get a car jumped, once you turn it off... the battery is dead again. thats how it works. so when you turn the car back on, the battery won't work. well... we got back to his house, turned off the car, and turned it back on... and it was till running...
creepy. something out there was looking out for us...
