2:27 am - As God Is Beside Me
Stuck in a well,
Feeling forlorn.
Doubt overflowing,
And mood is gone bowling.

Nowhere to run,
Nothing to do.
Fear in itself,
Is laid on a shelf.

Uncertainty strikes...
Where do I belong?
What do I believe?
Should I remain strong?

Death is on the rise...
Nothing to live up to
How can I tell,
If I meant something to you?

Smile, as despair is hid.
Love, as sadness bid.
Hug, as lonelines hold.
Laugh, as tears run bold.

Nowhere to run,
Nothing to do.
Mind needs tuning...
Heart bids yearning.

Death in my heart.
No life within me.
Yet hope arise
As God is beside me.

Lifting me
Holding me
Carrying me
Loving me

Love is abound
And the feeling is strong.
Assurance of life
Nothing could go wrong.

Yet hope arise
As God is beside me.

Yet hope arise...
As God is beside me.

4:37 pm - The House Blessing
It's been pretty boring lately, but I can't complain. Everything's "as good as it gets". (Beware: the next paragraphs sound like a bored commentator in a chess game tournament.)

Last Saturday's house blessing was a blast. Things were a little rushed at first, as I struggled with procrastination trying to get things ready for the guests. I moped around the computer, did a little bit of cleaning and started skewering my barbecue by 10am.

Around 11am, I still wasn't done with the barbecue sticks. I also still had to deal with the sinigang for my mom before she came in. I was actually boiling the water for the soup when my mom came in.

As we started getting food ready, we realized that we didn't have enough plates for the guests. I had to leave a message to Lucien to get some before he comes home.

This was also the first time to use the barbecue grill, so out I went to try it out. Boy, the barbecue was really good. Too bad it was cooked too soon before the guests arrived. My mom thought it would be wise to put some hotdogs on the grill as well for the kids that will be coming in. We put some corn in as well.

Lucien came just in time before the guests came in and thought it would be great to have our games out for the kids, to keep them entertained. So, he took out our old Playstation console and some other board games.

So, the guests started arriving. My friends were kind enough to help out in the cooking and preparing. One of my friends' husband was nice enough to take over the barbecue grill for me so I can get the other stuff ready.

The house blessing itself was divine. I was actually touched from all the love I felt within the house...where everybody, including the kids, participated. I thought it was perfect.

I had a good time socializing with some friends I haven't seen in a long time. It's been nice reminiscing about past events and how we have progressed throughout the years. It was a shame that everybody had to leave after a few hours.

My mom and another close friend stayed behind and helped clean up. It was nice to know that there are some people you can rely on. We relaxed by the patio afterwards with some jazz music and coffee. All in all, it was a good day.

Good news for today: we finally got our cable internet going. Whee! :)

6:45 pm
First off, thanks for the birthday greets, ya'll! Much, much appreciated. :)

I took the day off yesterday to spend my birthday with my family. Lucien totally forgot that the lunch/dinner was supposed to be at 4pm, so we rushed here and there. My sister came in early, my brother-in-law came in from work, and my mom was almost an hour late. In any case, we enjoyed our Pancit Malabon, Crispy Pata, and Kare-Kare. We also had Macapuno ice cream and champagne cake. All in all, it was all good. It was also fun hanging out with family in our house.

Tommorrow will be a little hectic because that's when we'll have our house blessing. Always gotta have that. We invited family and a few close friends, to make it small and quaint. Hopefully we can throw a bigger bash soon, but for now, it will do.

That's about it for now. Later, gater!

It's funny when people questioning my authority annoy the hell out of me, when on the other hand, I'm one of those people. Confusing? Eh.

5:35 pm - I'm alive!
Yes, I'm alive and kicking. The weekend was, well, quiet. Too quiet. Spending the weekend without any electricity was quite a challenge. But then, it felt just right, the weather was great, and I got to spend all my time with Lucien. It's nice to have no electricity once in a while. The only inconvenient thing about it was that some of our food that we put in the refrigerator got spoiled. Anyway, electricity should be up sometime today, though it wasn't up yet when I left for work.

Our neighborhood is pretty quiet, and there are a lot of places that are close to us, which is very convenient. We haven't met much of our neighbors, but they seem to know that we have moved in. To those of you who don't know, we live in a cul-de-sac, so pretty much everybody knows everybody.

I'm happy to say my little digicam works as a webcam, but only on MSN Messenger. I used it to talk to my friend, Jamie, and we had a blast just goofing off. She's DJing today on Raver Radio, and I'm just happy for her. Must be fun. :)

I think that's all for today.

5:49 pm - Houses, Music, and Poems
We were going to do house closing today, but for some reason, our lending bank has screwed up on paperwork, putting a higher interest rate than we originally planned.

Our loan officer has been on their asses all day yesterday and was able to get the paperwork fixed, but our closing won't be until Thursday. That day is better for both Lucien and I anyway, as we are both on our day off. We are kinda worried about our fridge/W/D delivery, because it will be for tomorrow. Hopefully, we can just call them and hold it for another day.

It was fun listening in to Jamie's Devilkiss Radio. She is basically playing it through her computer and everybody can listen in. Nice. We also talked about DJing for Nexus events like carnages, and such. That would be cool to see.

Also talked to Jennifer last night. I was honored that she let me read her poem. I did a few minor corrections, but overall, it was a good read. I also felt what she was trying to express in the poem. I said I was honored, because she mentioned that she never shared her writings. :)

4:56 pm - Active Weekend
Well, then, we did have a pretty active weekend.

Saturday, Lucien and I decided to watch a movie after he took a nap from work. Actually, 3 movies. Scooby Doo 2, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, and Jersey Girl. The first one was definitely for kids, the second one didn't do the first Dirty Dancing justice, the third one was a definite favorite. I cried so much in Jersey Girl it was pathetic. I'm glad that I wasn't the only one sniffling in the movie theatre.

All the while we were watching movies, I kept checking my watch, worried that Lucien might go to work late, or that we might have to go home early for Lucien to get ready for work. Little did I know that he was off for the weekend! He didn't tell me until we were into the 3rd movie. Well, I was certainly glad that he was off, because we were able to enjoy the movies more and spending time together.

Sunday, we woke up early but stayed being lazy until we were going to meet up with our real estate agent for the final walk through in the house. We met the old house owners and talked about the ins and outs of the house. We were getting excited and the previous owners are very nice and accommodating.

After that, we went to Sears to take a look at some refridgerators, washers and dryers, as those were the ones we needed for the house. We were well into our budget so we decided to buy them then and there. We picked good ones, too. They'll be delivering them on Wednesday.

So, it's been a pretty hectic, but relaxing weekend. Lucien and I were able to exercise also, with our bikes and walking the dog around the neighborhood. I must say it was a satisfying weekend.

7:06 pm - Things Are Not What They Seem
Okay, since Jamie asked, no, ragged on me, to update, here I am.

House update: we go back to the house on Sunday to do another walk-thru to check if everything's good to go. And then on Tuesday, we're going to the title company to sign some papers, and that's also the day we do the closing. Thursday is the official day we move. So, it's going to be a hectic few weeks.

Another full weekend ahead of me. Most likely we'll be doing some more packing and what not.

I'm a little bit stressed on Tuesday, though. Because Lucien doesn't get off until 3pm, and I have to get to work at 3pm, so when can we really get to go to the title place together to sign papers? So, I'll have to go in late to work on that day so we can do it. I just hope my co-workers won't mind.

That's pretty much it. Blah, blah, blah.

5:07 pm - House Update
So, we have talked to our loan officer and everything looks good. We might even be able to move in Monday next week. I'm so excited! Lucien has already has half of the house packed up. All we're waiting now is to have the title company call us to pick up our keys. :D

Lucien and I rode our bikes, and went cruising around our new neighborhood last weekend. Conveniently enough, about 2 minutes away is a grocery store, a movie rental place, dry cleaners for Lucien's uniforms, and even a library! Very nice. Oh, as for restaurants, there's a Braum's, a Cici's Pizza and a Subway. There is also a nice lake about 3 miles from the house.

Here's our darling house:

6:59 pm - It's Friday already?!
I can't believe how this week has flown by so fast. Last week, however, felt like it dragged on and on.

Lucien and I met Jennifer at the airport today. We were waiting for her in the wrong terminal, as she had to go to a connecting flight to Sacramento. So, we kinda wasted about an hour of her 2-hour layover waiting at the wrong terminal. I was about ready to give up, but Lucien, bless him, insisted on me trying the paging system for the 3rd and last time. Sure enough, that's when we found that she was already on another terminal, waiting for her connecting flight. So, we rushed over there and finally got to meet her face-to-face. A darling girl. :)

Afterwards, we went out to eat at a mall's foodcourt, which was 5 minutes away. There was this guy giving food samples of their restaurant and we were hooked on getting lunch there. As we ate, we watched him as he went through the crowds, offering food samples. We were in total awe on how he sold his restaurant, as the lines became longer and longer. No doubt, it was good food.

Went home, took a nap, and got ready for work. Now, I can't wait to get out of work, and look forward to two lazy days... my weekend.

4:43 pm - Hairless Day, and Now, A Mouse
Wow. The first hour when I got into work was chaotic. I don't even want to talk about what happened. Good thing that it's died down. For now.

Anyways, I have a new optical mouse. It's very tiny, though you can't tell from the low quality pictures I took using my little itty bitty camera:

eek! it's a mouse! )

I shaved Lucien's hair again today. Now he totally hairless. :P He got used to me shaving his head. You should have seen his hair back when we started dating. Because his hair is so curly, the crown part of his hair makes my mom wonder if he teases his hair with a comb, 80's style. It's an ongoing joke between us. *smirk*

That's all for now. Just wanted to show off the mouse. Sorry 'bout the poor quality of the pictures. What can you expect from an itty bitty camera?

8:18 pm - Funny Thing About Restrooms
Reading a bit of jakerad's post made me think about our own restroom at work.

We have two separate restrooms in our floor. One for men, and one for women. It's a single stall so you can lock yourself in there for privacy, and no one will bother you.

Lately, I have the stinking suspicion (and I meant the pun) that men use the women's restroom. Why? Because no woman I know would splash urine on the front of the seat, smear it all over the commode, and let it dry. No woman I know would leave used toilet paper on the floor, or leave a dirty paper towel next to the sink.

It's starting to look a lot like the men's restroom now, which I can tell from the smell that emanates from the men's restroom door. A few co-workers of mine have told me that it's a mess in there. And there's probably only 3 women that I know who work on our floor, so it's really doubtful that we could make such a mess in there.

I don't really mind that men use the women's restroom if they really have to go and someone else is in the men's restroom, but at least have the decency to clean up after yourself! That's what really ticks me off.

One of these days, I'm going to request our supervisor to lock the women's restroom and give only the women a key to the door. *sigh*

1:09 pm
Woke up early. Somehow I was in a half awake/half asleep mode and started thinking of the site I was working on last night. Did a RP book, which, hopefully, takes off nicely. There were these bunch of kids that started one at the The Geek Forums and thought it would be a good idea putting up the site for them, and everybody else can make up their own chapter.

So, now, I'm staring at the computer screen and listening to my Frank Sinatra and Tommy Dorsey album. The Night and Day song is our (Lucien and I) song. :P This music is so relaxing for some reason. I used to think I would have probably liked to live in the 40's (sans the war, of course) and just listen to the old songs. Nothing like good old fashioned music.

Talked to Jennifer. She's in New Orleans! To those that don't know her, she's my in-game daughter in Nexus, a game I played about a year ago. She said that she'll stop by Dallas on Friday, so I'm thinking of stopping by since she has a 2 hour layover and I don't have to work until later. So, I hope I don't forget!

Talked to Arvin again on MSN. He showed me his webcam! Gosh, he's so grown up. He doesn't look goofy anymore, hehehe! He said that he'll be meeting up with Gayle and hopefully Luke, if they ever get a hold of him. Talked to Gayle, too, last night, with a lot of interruptions on the side. Oh well, but at least I got to talk to her. Miss the old crowd! Arvin, Gayle, and Luke were part of the church youth group I was in back in the Philippines. Arvin is my cousin's cousin, but still consider him family. Luke, was my first ever boyfriend, but we are still friends. Gayle is his sister, a great, great, great friend of mine. Luke, Gayle and I were like a singing trio back in the days. If we ever get together again, we'll do a jamming session together. That would be sweet!

Okay, will try to scrounge up some food and get ready for work now. Lates.

I feel like a mouse in a maze, looking for some cheese. Lucien has filled the kitchen/dining room area with boxes and boxes, up to the ceiling. And everywhere I go, I have to navigate through to get to where I'm going.
