2:21 pm - Oh and..
I had gone to get a glass of water in the office when I saw some small brinjal kind of things kept near the coffee machine and a note saying "Freshly plucked figs from my garden. Help yourselves. - Phil"

:-) I picked one.. felt healthy...the fig I mean. Will take home and share with mom, we both like figs hehe

2:17 pm - Let the rain fall
I heard my city is flooded...and the torrents won't stop. I'm not there to watch and love. Out of the blue remembered a song..."Kiss The Rain" by Billie Myers.

Last night saw a full orange moon when returning from Isle of Wight. Funny why looking at the moon should make me feel better. It has no life they say and yet it seems so real and warm, like one could speak to it!

Reminds me of the programme I saw on BBC the other day on ancient Pagan culture and beliefs. The unusual deliberately created patterns of upright rocks across UK are based around capturing the powers, sights, blessings of the sun and the moon.

By the time I came back to my bedroom window though Mr.Moon had changed into his whites again. As if saying time to go to bed! Left my issues aside and obeyed.

4:36 pm - Compliment?
"This is why I don't like talking to you...everything seems so normal"

Said to me in highly troubled times. Imagine how much I need to speak to myself at such moments in my own life! Its therapeutic bordering on madness. I manage...do talk to me again if you ever feel the need for normalcy.

4:13 pm - Does this sound news-paperish enough?
Box cricket at Bletchley

Bletchley was witness to some cricketing innovation last weekend bringing in throngs of enthusiastic but unseasoned players from neighbouring Milton Keynes.

The game was all of 8 overs with 8 members on each side and was played in a imaginary box, fenced by a knee-high string.

Organised by the employees of Mahindra British Telecom, the funny and fast-paced game brought out inquisitive spectators from the neighbourhood.

Among the rules that made the game interesting were a few prominent ones, like the batsman is declared out if his strike goes over the fence or that one can catch the batsman out even after the ball bounces once.

Each game lasting 45 minutes, after a tough combat between 15 teams, the winners ‘Terrific 8’ emerged undoubtedly the best.

The most clever twist to the game though was that the captain of every team had to be a woman!

5:06 pm - Strange people I meet
The other day I stepped out of office to go to the library and saw another man walking just in front of me. His pace was slower than mine and I knew I would get ahead. However as I levelled him, he picked up pace to match mine and irritatingly we kept walking a few steps together. Its quite unsettling when someone does that, if you dont already know that.

I looked at him with 'the' irritated look and he smiled. Wha? He was a 30ish, slightly balding, short man. He begins to talk...
"Are you Working here?"
"Yes"
"Hi my name is Dinesh"
"Hi"
"Your name?"

How do people manage to do such things. He did not stop at that you know. Asked me if I lived with my family, single or married, mothertongue, how long in UK...and a lot of prying questions!! I asked a few questions too to make sure I was not making a mistake by talking to a complete stranger. Turned out he was going to meet his wife in the centre. It is stupid how being married releives a man of any dubious intentions. He was further cleared of any discredit when he informed that his wife was waiting near the fountain where his son liked to play. A father!

At such times I just give up ...I can't judge people.

5:44 pm - in the summer time..
when the weather is dry.. n u can reach rite up and touch the sky!

Well yea and the English sure get carried away in this weather. I mean almost every morning the tv shows are revolving around sun-creams, skin cancers and tanning lotions, pros n cons etc! Its maddening how they love the warm glowing colour ..which actually boils down to our normal Indian skin tone. And to think Indians crave for the English whiteness.... rubbing in dollops of Fair n Lovely only to get a pale grey skin...jeez tats the worst!

Exposure to too much sunlight gives leathery skin it seems... in that case someone please make a nice looking purse out of me when im outta tis world!

I say lack of sunlight gives leathery bums instead... coz it makes u wanna sit indoors all the time! Laze, eat chips, read a book, sleep, watch tv...I do just this in this oh-so brit weather! The summer has been absoutely damp...a day here or there of bright sunshine followed by weeks of same old gloom!

They dont even have tubelights in the house!! lol ok leaving on tat slightly lighter note.

Into the shadowy evening ...ciao

current mood: crappy

7:14 pm - Feely feely post
At times i crave human contact.. of the kind where you can touch the person...hit n hug, punch or pinch or just hold them to know they are there for real! I dont do this with many people.. a very choicest few are at the receiving end ...like my dearest pal Mou who just came to visit me before she leaves for India tomorrow! So im feeling very alive right now.. shez just gone to meet a few of her other friends while I do my bit for my blurty.

The fading yet strong for its time sunlight, casts a shadows of my fingers over the keyboard. That reminds me of this home-video i saw yesterday where the baby is looking at the floor and trying to grab a hand which is only a shadow :) oh and we had a baby visitor at home yestday! And she shared my name! :) I did not lose the opportunity to cradle her as the family checked out our house. O yea im moving to a brand new place... which is really pretty.. a huge kitchen et all.

Okay mou is here now and this is getting embarassing... bye bye!

current mood: thankful
