Yeah I have been away for a long long time from this little journal and since the last time I wrote, I backpacked Europe, fractured my elbow, returned to school, worked at the jail, discovered a romantic interest...and yeah lots of other interesting things...you know how it is...anyways...I am writing to say that this is my senior year of college strangely enough and I am caught in a strange place. I hate my classes and school as I always have but the light at the end of the tunnel (aka graduation) has me to where I think I can survive it. Basketball is better than it could have ever been and I just love having my roomie Laurie working with me. I met a guy in France this summer and he is moving to the states in two weeks so we can be closer together and that is kinda scary because i don't know where God is taking that but we will see. So yesterday was valentine's day and it was absolutely brilliant!!! I mean brilliant...well, we can start with Friday night actually...Lendy and I started the weekend out right with a great meal at los portales and then anthony and sang rolled into town and the three of us went to Carrie's house and hung out and then went to see Big Fish, which I slept through most of...and then we came back to the hizzouse and slept til we went to basketball practice at nine in the morning and then we did the whole visit jackson's mall and see lendy at the wellness center and union baseball game and lambuth basketball game....then we came back to the house where we celebrated Graeter's ice cream with a ton of folks...which was nice...anthony and sang are dolls - they brought me flowers and so much ice cream and cookies and they are just the sweetest...anyways, after the ice cream festivities we went to memphis and ate dinner at the olive garden (lendy, sang, anthony, becky, andre, laurie, and me) and then laurie, andre, anthony and i continued on in memphis dancing at beale street which was oh so fun. Then this morning we ate at cracker barrell and then they headed home...sad times :( but then we went to andre's apartment and watched a movie and that was fun and then there was basketball practice which is always super fun :) however...i am a little pissed right now because my former roommate came to our apt and finished off two of the pints that anthony and sang brought for me...while i wasn't here...unendorsed...and then she put the empty containers back in the freezer...yeah that's going to be a time of confrontation tomorrow but hey - whatever...yeah so anyways...the boys made it back home safely so that makes me happy and its about to be eunice and cat's birthday so now i am workin on my surprises for them :) tata for now...

So, today is my 4 year anniversary of giving my life to Christ. I had "accepted" Christ when I was 8-years-old and really hadn't strayed much from His path but this night 4 years ago was when I truly realized what it meant to give your life to Christ and to receive His salvation. Its too long of a story to go into but Psalm 116 captures the idea. Its been rocky, I won't say it hasn't...and the fight is always there between flesh and spirit but God is faithful and never stops loving me and accepting me and changing me. I fail daily but through my failures, HE uses me to further His kingdom and to keep me humble. God is good. God is very very good. I know that for sure. I think Him for sending His son and for redeeming me from the lost state that I was in. God is my saviour and I can never forget it. All glory to Him, who never could sin!

So...on Thursday night, my glasses broke and my contacts were already broken so I headed towards Indy with old glasses on my face...barely able to see...Friday night was a night of fun and adventure as we celebrated Nathans' birthday and his upcoming trip to Europe...Josh Garrels was outstanding and being with Bait and her roomies was so exciting :) Saturday was nice and cold with freezing rain but fun times with Cat and Bait and Ben and Dan at their mexican restraunt...
But back to breaking things...so Rob Alan broke my sanity with the Breakfast at Tiffany's song...and then on Sunday, my watch broke...my wonderful walmart watch...and then after that, my tooth broke after Liz's elmo attacked my mouth...unbelievable and what's worse...Peter Chang broke my heart with the news of his gf at school...can you believe all of this brokenness...

well, an update will tell you that my glasses are being fixed currently and will be replaced on Thursday accompanied by new contacts...and my tooth was fixed today and looks as it did before...my heart remains broken and i still need a watch but other than that...life is good :)

--I rode a motorcycle - thanks Pash!!!

--yeah I sort of kept them I guess...except I still haven't improved on my guitar playing and that is my resolution like every freaking year

--yeah, my cousins Ryan and Sharee had a girl and named her brieanna

--no

--just the United States for the first time in 6 years

--a boyfriend instead of a bunch of freak guys that want to be friends with benefits or junk like that

--December 2nd - it was my best birthday ever...21st - thank you Mazatlans and the pals at Union

--landing the job at the jail and running with it (heck I even got a raise!)

--lowering standards

--well, i threw up this summer for the first time since 1999

So I have had quite the Christmas break...already its been around five weeks or so and I feel like I haven't done much but done quite a lot all the same...there was the holiday of Christmas with the Vanderpools coming (yay) and with the Wilsons staying at the house with the baby...and then of course the jail which still keeps me going with the oddities that occur there...and then there was the drama with James Bartee...oh, Jamie...what a twisted child...and of course, new year's eve where i wanted to go to indiana but instead was stuck here...but also the fun I had with the Gully boys and with moatsey and katie....good times...and the trip to Dad's farm, which i fell head over heels in love with...granted, there's been downers over break too like the fact that I didn't see half the peeps I wanted to, paige went to england to live til May, and jr mint didn't call or write or email or anything like he promised...
which brings me to now when almost all of the friends have gone back to school and i am down to hanging with the fam and going to the library which is fun...and i have reverted to reading classical literature and am currently reading Jane Eyre which is why I will leave this journal with a great quote from the book:
