5:57p - films
Went to see The Departed on Monday. Review is here. Initially I did not realize it was a remake of Infernal Affairs. The whole time I was like, that scene was from Infernal Affairs!!! Then I finally remembered that my friend had told me a while ago there would be a remake with Leonardo DiCaprio in it and then the light bulb moment finally hit me. Duh! I must admit I thought it was quite a film, and I will also admit that based on this performance Leonardo DiCaprio is actually a really good actor. In case you were wondering what led to that comment, I was traumatized by his role in Titanic and refused to see any of his films until now.
A review for The Hulk is also up. I got on an Eric Bana film mission after last Thursday when I accidentally came across a copy of Chopper in the on-post library. I didn't find it a very entertaining film, although it was nice to see Eric speaking Australian and in a relatively less serious role. I thought I was losing my mind when I couldn't think of what other films of Eric's I haven't seen yet except for The Hulk, The Nugget and The Castle until I realized that I indeed had seen all the rest of his big Hollywood films. He's got that new poker movie coming out with Drew Barrymore in it, which I most likely won't pay money to see because I don't know squat about poker and it's going to end up being all mushy love-story too.
Luckily, I am soon to leave Sorry Vista. Let the countdown begin, seven more days. One week exactly. The next entertainment on my plate will be the Monterey Sportscar Invitational and dragging my mom to go see The Prestige with me on a weekday. Which means I must stop spending money needlessly.
