"Endymion was a handsome shepherd boy of Asia Minor, the mortal lover of the moon goddess Selene. Each night he was kissed to sleep by her. She begged Zeus to grant him eternal life so she might be able to embrace him forever. Zeus complied, putting Endymion into eternal sleep and each night Selene visits him on Mt. Latmus, near Milete, in Asia Minor. The ancient Greeks believed that his grave was situated on this mountain. Selene and Endymion have fifty daughters."

Just saw the movie Big Fish by Tim Burton and I must say it was one of the most touching movies I've ever seen. Tim Burton, when left to his own devices, can make some crazily emotional movies that once you're done watching you have no idea what to think. I like the fact that it was a book too...I should go find it and read it. Ewan McGregor is like the perfect actor...he's been good in every damn movie he's been in.

So yeah, if you haven't seen Big Fish, go see it. It's very very good.

marked as:Public

What the hell is wrong me? I have this problem...I can't seem to get my relationships out of the 'friends' rut and kick them into high gear. Story of my damn life, I guess...I've got this one friend right now, we'll call her uh...well screw it, Tonya...and I can't ever figure out where we stand with each other. Well I mean, I know where I stand with her, but I have no clue how she looks at me. I'm guessing that she sees me as a 'friend' cos she always sortof keeps me at arms distance. Same as always...I'm never the one to initiate anthing cos I'm always scared of 'ruining the relationship'...fuck. I need to move to New York. Don't ask...

This is more a selfish post for myself than anything else...plus I haven't written here in a while and felt like I should.

That is all.

She called my name from the balcony, startling me out of my reverie. Something in her tone made me smile. She'd seen something. That was the only time she ever called me like that. I stepped out on the balcony and slipped an arm around her slender waist.

What's up?

Look at the water. she said, pointing, glancing at me. Her eyes were beautiful, so gorgeous I almost wanted to cry when I looked into them. The gray of steelm, but so soft and warm and caring that I fell in love with her the first time I looked into them, and fell in love with her all over again every time I looked into them after that. She turned away, back to the water.

I followed her eyes. There's a reason she's one of the worlds best photographers. It was almost sunset, and the lake was still, and perfectly quiet. Nothing moved, no wind sent ripples across the water, no boats or fishermen disturbed the surface. It was like glass. Rather, like a huge mirror, and in it I saw the sky reflected with perfect clarity. It was breathtaking.

It's beautiful I said, my voice almost a whisper.

Hmm...so it is. she said. So it is.

We stood there for a while longer, my arm around her, her tucked in close against my chest. I felt her breathing, soft and even, making her chest rise against me. We didn't move for a long time.

For those of you who don't know him, Kevin Hundsnurcher is an erotic photographer based in Seatlle. He's actually quite good, and manages to transcend the basic 'okay get naked now point and shoot' methods of most so-called 'erotic' photographers. I've been following his works for some time now, and must say that he's definately caught my attention. I just recently purchased his photographic collection mini-CD, chronicling some of his best work and offering a glimpse at work not previously available on the website. My recommendation: if you like the photography, buy the CD. Not only will you be supporting a talented and creative artist, the higher quality images and never-before-seen material is immensely satisfying. For the price, it's an unbeatable deal.

You can give him a look at Elaisted: The Photographic Works of Kevin Hundsnurscher. Give him a look.
