Alive and, well alive. [23 Mar 2007 @ 02:32 (Pacific Time)] Man, two weeks since I last posted? Shame on me. It's not like I'm not on here every day (many times a day even)... Tsk tsk tsk. Next time around I do have an "excuse" though. In a few hours, I'll be on my way to the airport. I'm flying off to The Netherlands for my Spring Break. Yeah, the quarter ended this evening and boy, was these last few weeks Hell. It was so bad that I turned in my final project "incomplete" (well, I think it fulfilled all of the requirements but it was majorly scaled down from the storyboards I showed my professor). This week will not nearly be enough to recover though, especially since next quarter I need to come up with my thesis proposal and figure out who I would want to work with. That's going to be fun, I'm sure... (Bleh.) I had the bright idea of staying up all night tonight so tomorrow I can sleep on the plane. It seems like that would work, but I fear falling asleep while waiting for my connection flight in Houston. That would be very very very bad. So, I think I'm going to try and get a bit of sleep. Yey. zOMG art [11 Mar 2007 @ 00:00 (Pacific Time)] I have been lagging in the creativity/doing-art-for-the-sake-of-it department lately for a long while now forever, but tonight I managed to not immediately hop on Rappelz in order to churn out this: ( A vector drawing, even ) The image came to me while I was riding BART home. I ended up using it in a collaborative piece (rather, a match of "Photoshop Tennis" [though we are using Illustrator]) that I should have contributed to weeks ago. My din-din! [02 Mar 2007 @ 00:32 (Pacific Time)] Mama-san wanted to make some sushi today for lunch, so we did. We made a bunch of California rolls and some rolls with roasted pork soaked in teriyaki marinade. It was muy delicioso. Since there was oodles of pieces, I packed myself some for dinner. [02 Mar 2007 @ 00:21 (Pacific Time)] Hello lovely people. I hope all is well. I am doing all right, actually. Not stressed, not annoyed, not irritated. That is pretty darn good for me. So, what has happened since I last post? Let's see. I had that midterm which the professor seriously truncated. That was somewhat annoying because a couple of the few questions he did ask were of (what I considered) obscure parts of the reading (which I mentioned came out to be a 440 page reader). Bah. I think I did okay on it. Not good, but okay. After the midterm I had to quickly change gears to deal with three projects. One that required my immediate attention was my text-based interactive narrative, built in Flash using Actionscript. That came out pretty good, I must say. You can check out Next Best Thing 62 - Japan's Premiere Beautiful Girl All-Star Singing Generation either on my website or on SheezyArt. Yeah, bet you can guess what the game is about. The Flash project was turned in on Tuesday. Now onto my Max/MSP project which originally was causing me the most distress. Max/MSP is a visual programming environment. Our group has the task of using the Making Things' Teleo module (a microcontroller) to create an interactive multimedia piece. Our group has decided to create a "Not So Nice Doll", which would respond to being touched in certain areas. All this requires wiring all sorts of sensors to the Teleo module and writing a patcher in Max/MSP to control everything. No one in my group knows enough about electricity and wiring stuff to comfortably take control of that part of the assignment. I am deadly scared of blowing the board, in part because I have no clue what I would do in order to cause that and in part because the Teleo is discontinued, so I cannot get another one if I do blow it. Argh. So, as of last weekend, I was totally stressing out over that. It was not fun. It was to the point where I felt like I really was going to lose it (which was not good because I was at work at the time). But, somehow I made it through the weekend and I talked to Marcus earlier this week. Talking to him really made me feel better. The problem I was having was not so much the work I had to do but the need I had to stress out about it and deal with it quietly because I wanted to seem like a strong person or something? I don't know what exactly it was, but it was silly. Marcus set me straight and now I am doing okay. I will get stressed out again over this and all the other crap I have to do, but at least it should be a managable and productive stress-out. Here I am now, quietly drinking some tea and writing this entry. I notice it is getting a bit on the long side, so I am going to stop now and start another one because I am annoying like that. Ha. No, because the other one will have pictures and be much shorter, thus have a higher likelihood of being looked at. Well then. Until next time. Каждый сам, каждый сам, Полчаса

AKB48 - Skirts, Hirari (YouTube video) [20 Feb 2007 @ 23:30 (Pacific Time)] Wow, YouTube said it would be "a couple of minutes" to post a video. More like about 4 hours. How annoying. So, my apologies, but I am reposting this today with a bit of a mod to the code. I do not know about the rest of you, but when YouTube videos are embedded in entries, they float up to the top of my journal and prevent me from clicking in certain places. It is kind of a pain. [19 Feb 2007 @ 19:36 (Pacific Time)] *sigh* While I am utterly tired of studying, I have barely made a dent in my 440 page reader I printed for my networking midterm on Thursday. I need to comprehend and have a working knowledge of 130-something-terms. Of course it is my fault that I have delayed studying. Of course I am not going to do well because I did procrastinate so much. Of course I am going to be stressed out for the next week, even after the midterm is over because I have other schoolwork being delayed. I do not know why I am bothering to complain. Sorry. Things that would reveal more about me that you'd like to know rather than simple objects.
