    Go time
Leaving for the airport in about an hour... Guess i should start packing. Thankfully Zac is giving me a ride there, so I don't have to pay the $7+/day parking there (probably a lot more?). I'll be back next week, but i'll unfortunately miss the RI Risingsun shoot (sorry Ang ;p). I'm still annoyed at my laptop. It has no working battery, and i haven't had $50+ to get a new one lately. When the power cable is just jiggled a little bit it goes off now too ~_~" I'll have to get something so I'm not bored in class next semester :)

    *yawn*
With RO down, time to do something else ;p I've been having a lot of fun lately trying out a lot of new things lately. I have a TON of screenshots for anyone bored enough to check them out. I"ve been practicing in Chivalry and Caste2, getting a little better at taking on mobs. Fun stuff.

I'm sort of looking forward to classes starting in 2 weeks now. I'm going to be more busy than ever -- but after nearly 2 semesters of slacker classes I'm ready to take something challenging on again (heh i say that now o.0). Actually i don't have much of a choice if i plan on graduating on time. By then perhaps I'll actually have a phone too. I have someone in my life I actually want to call for once too!

Oh, and Queen of the Damned really is a terrible movie. I can only hope the other Anne Rice books somehow make up for this lame story.

    AFO Pics up
AFO4 pics are up on Risingsun. There's a lot of pics of people I saw over and over walking up and down the halls, but nothing of most the ddr/non-cosplayers as expected. I'm most disappointed that there isn't a saved picture of the "I'm ready when you are girls..." guy, or the Shopping cart Trueno (although i have a picture of the later). There are a few cute pictures that should give Eunice a little more respect for the FL cosplay community :p Looking at the galleries though, it's sad how many of these people were invited to the party saturday night ;p

    boyah!
Well, RO is down for me at the moment. I was checking my bank statement and i had charges to them on the first of august. I was assuming this was payment for the month of august so i didn't renew. Little did i know it was a late payment from july (wtf?) being sent in late. Anyways, i can't pay now anyways because the website isn't even up ~_~" Looks like it'll be a few days before playing any RO again.

In the meantime i'll probably realize what it's like to actaully get things done again! This morning I finally got around to finishing up the aim/blog script I've been messing around with. There are a few problems I've run into that maybe someone can help out with. Firstoff the aim_today window aparently can't accept more than one variable being sent to it! So something like "index.php?journal=1&referrer=%n" will only accept the journal variable. This is OK in my case since there is technically only 1 used journal on dymension.org, but the structure needs more -_-; I'll probably have to do something like "1_%n" and parse it or such. If there is a cleaner way it would be nice though. The other annoyance is due to the way AIM handles cookies. If you click on the aim_today window, close it, then close the profile the cookie will still be active and will be recognized the next time you goto the aim_today page. That is sort of useful for admin sessions, but not so good if you're using the cookie variable to increment a counter. I need to change that, which shouldn't be too hard. I'll get around to it soon i'm sure, but until then at least it stores who visits. I still need to make it so it denies access if AIM isn't the referrer though. That way people can't copy/paste it into IE.

    Anyways, check it out :)

    whaaaa
The Eye is playing at The Enzian but only until today! It's the last showing tonight at 9:30 (great time for a scarry movie!). I have it on DVD, but it would be great to see that on the big screen. Looking at the Enzian's site they have a lot of cool movies playing there in the next month or two. They're playing Clockwork Orange on September 24th, might have to check that ne out too. From the look of the schedule I"m sure more things that fit my interests will pop-up there. To make up for not getting out to The Eye, we'll have to mooch the livingroom tv (48" w/surround) to watch it :)

    busy busy o.0
Today (well now yesterday since it's past midnight) was exactly 2 years since i started this journal! Funny to think I started it after meeting Melissa and Eunice at AFO. It's helped out with programming and website management soo much, and has been a greatescape from DDRei when i want to do some programming but nothing too large scale (even if i seem to plan for a LJ-size community still). I had to move the posts over from blogger -- it's initial home for the database, and now everything resides in my own databases :) Anyways, enough dymension.org history....

Today started out way too hectic. I planned to get up and do some laundry, but after a call from my mom (money talk -- the worst kind) I was on my way out to get my tag renewed (it expires tomorrow). My mom was kind of freaking out about it being expired to I got to it as soon as i could. I got down there and it was one thing after another going wrong.

3 hours later I was back here all set to hang out with Marilyn. Aparently I didn't give her the apt number though... ~_~" Luckily i saw her outside waiting around by her car and went down there. Man that was lucky. We went on a nice driving tour of orlando. Gamezone, her place, Florida Mall, Oriental Trading all around. I'd forgotten just how much the two of us have in common. I do'nt know if i'm just more at ease with her than most people, or if i'm just becomming less introverted ;p Either way, i'm looking forward to seeing more of her soon!

RO has been down pretty much ever since i was able to play today! I guess tomorrow I'll be making up for it. :)

    haha whaa?
Since when was Dymension added to Top: Arts: Animation: Anime: Fandom: Conventions: Reports and Photo Albums ? ^_^" Somehow it's 7/16th in that category in hits even though dymension gets less than 100 a day. Sadly i think the doax pictures are a major factor in that -_-; I should really remove them to get less weird guys visiting...

BTW, if anyone has metrocon or afo pictures (digital of course) and want them posted up i'd be glad to host em. I took soo few pictures and didn't get any of most people. Let me know!

    "Vacation"?
Aiee. Looks like i'll be leaving for Boston sometime soon. I really really don't want to though. Plane tickets are being looked into at least, so i won't have to drive. It's looking like I'll be gone a little over a week starting thursday or so (that saturday night stay req or whatever for cheaper rates). I'd be back before the 18th though as my mom is comming to town that weekend. I'll certainly have enough family time in these last few weeks of summer ^_^. If my dad hasn't arranged tickets I'd like to go out this fall instead though, maybe see snow and what this 'winter' i've heard of is like. ah well, i'll see what happens. I'm dead broke, so looks like i'll be doing whatever my parents want right now.
    7:14 am
    aaaggghhh
It's 6am and i'm back at home. Why? Well it's not because i didn't pay for a room saturday night. There was really no incentive to stay at that con any longer. It was definetely the worst con I've ever been to thus far, and makes me glad there is nothing going on until next march (that I would get to at least). So what made it so bad? Probably just expectations in a con that just weren't met. Less time to hang out (or none at all) due to the subpar facilities and many other things interferring. It was still fun hanging out with everyone, although for me who jumps from group to group I was a little lost most the weekend^^" There wasn't really any controversy or drama, just the lack of anything spectacular. Anyways here's my account of the weekend.

Friday: Got there around 5 or 6 after a load of traffic. I forgot just how bad friday traffic was. Grabbed a 3day pass, para para'd, met with people, played some Halo (they had a 16player hookup), bought 3 pins from the dealers room, watched the David Violence panel (good stuff) and went to IHOP with 23 others. The definete highlight of the day was watching a guy in his late 20's/early 30's hit on a group of young cosplayers. This guy was oviously older, quite overweight (large gut) and he wasn't wearing a shirt... What could this guy do to pick up a group of 3 young girls? He blocked their path with his massive figure and in a low voice said "I'm ready when you are my dears...". I don't think i have the words.... Went back to 312 (fujikoma room) after a little wondering up and down the hallways. People were already drunk, but for once I decided not to (thought it better to get drunk saturday). Eventually I went to sleep the party seemed to continue around me (didn't it? i think i was one of the first to sleep -_-).

Satuday: Somehow woke up and got in a shower when it was free (we had 7 people in the room?). I think over the course of the convention I walked up and down that main passage a good 50 times. That was about all there was to do most the time since i'm not the anime fan i once was. Played some PPP/IIDX/Puzzle fighter (lost miserably o.0) and Halo which had some good competition. It was sort of funny though -- this very attractive girl seemed to be hitting on a guy I was playing Halo with, and he was asking her a few default questions, and she was trying to get him to go with her to hang out. Very clueless guy -- not that I'd say I'm not clueless, but certainly less than that. Melissa showed up and we got to hang out for a good 5 mins (so short!). Alex, who always has his eyes peeled for women, pointed her out to me. Somehow I met up with David and hung out with him for a while. I never knew Exxon carried energy pills like that. These ones are a much more natural stimulant than caffiene -- I mean i'm still up fter 20 hours so they must be doing something. I didn't see too much of the cosplay, but aparently there was a wedding proposal during it. Eventually i was somehow hanging out with Alex and Jeff (? Tappy) trying to find more people to come to the party (specifically girls as there were only.. 2? 3?). That lost it's entertainment value when my shots wore off. After going back for more we crashed the dance party. It looked like everyone was having a lot of fun -- although i'm not much of a dancer so i left soon after for the pool. Hanging out at the pool seemed to make everyone happier. Aside from a lingering chlorine smell it was pretty cool. I wondered around back to 312, then by Ruthie's room to hang out, then back to 758, and by the pool tonly to run into more people before giving up on the con and just saying screw it. My drinks wore off and I had no reason to stay, SO i'm back at home. Not all that exciting, but eh, always good to see people.

    AFOOOOO
After a little more packing i'll be all set for AFO! It looks like I'll be taking off around 4pm and staying until I get bored on sunday. I'm not too sure what i'll be doing to fill 48 hours, but I'm sure it'll be fun. The only con i really went to this year was Megacon, which is probably the most commercial of Florida conventions. Anyways, packing time!

    Best Summer Ever!
"Final grades are posted. An 89.4 is a B."

... and even though I got 50%'s on the first few quizes until I got my book; I got a 93. Wow, 2 A's this summer, that's a first.

I was looking into changing my schedule for fall around a little bit, as it's looking a little intimidating at the moment... HERE is what I'm planning on taking. I'm thinking it might be a little too much work for me though. If i eliminate the monday night course i'll be back down to a resonable level -- although i'd really like to see how it goes first. A few people from my class last semester in there too. That is my one 'fun' class, even though I do need it as a restricted elective. Anyways, it'll work out. Unfortunately tuition is going to be 500$ for 5 classes, and probably another 500$ for book too... =/ I only have about 400$ saved, so i need to get in touch with my parents real soon. Anyways, fall semester is a long ways away, so i'll worry later...

    Settling in ~_~
Our Tivoli apartment is no more... Yesterday morning we packed the last of our belongings and said goodbye to those large dark rooms. Zac and I were completely out by then, so most of the work was nates. Sunday on the other hand... I had to change all my outlets back to the ones that came with the apartment -- luckily i had saved them. It feels weird to not have motion lights go on automatically when i enter the bathroom now ;p Took a few tries and a $3 electric screwdriver, but i got my blue rope lights down too. It took significantly less time to take everything down with the power off and the outlets not shocking me every few seconds (finding my fuse in the switchbox really helped). Between that and a load of HW due sunday was hectic .

So now we're getting set in our new place -- altough i still need to get a desk here... The KVI table i have set up just isn't cutting it. Aside from everything being boxed in my closet, i'm moved in though. My room is arranged the same, but with all my bookshelfs in my closet =( I'm sure it'll just take a little time to get used to a smaller room. It's still significantly larger than any dorm room i've lived in at least. Time to find a desk!

    gahhhh
Man, I never want to move again. Luckily we didn't have to have everything out today or we would still be moving... Getting just the furniture out took about 7 hours... All my furniture is in my room, although I don't have a desk anymore. I tried taking it apart to move right; sounds easy enough. Well it's had a lot of problems that I've fixed with nails in easy places -- not screws but nails. A few slid out at the wrong time, some of the screws broke through at angles and the desk pretty much tumbled to the ground in one swift motion. It was fantastic. I can guarentee that whatever i get next will NOT be made out of cheap particle board. This was a walmart desk that was much much cheaper than anything else on the market. On the bright side zac isn't moving his desk either, so we had only 1 desk to move.

Anyone remember that TV in our livingroom? Imagine getting that up a flight of stairs. It was a moving experience I won't soon forget. My hands hurt.

    1 more day!
Today is our last day in our old apartment. That means the weekend right before finals will be spent lugging endless amounts of furniture up a flight of stairs to a new apartment. Not the best time, but i can't be avoided. The 28th is both our last moveout day and finals, so luckily we have a 4 day window for the move. I'm not too worried about my few things, but helping with the livingroom and nates room will be as scarry as last year....

I'm kinda annoyed I missed the LJ meetup earlier today. I ws looking forward to it, even though it looks like not too many people showed up^^" Kome was a little late getting out of practice (8:20) but that didn't matter too much because i wrote down the directions wrong. Late I found out that barnies was actually in the mall (i thought it was just close by) which is both why we didn't find it and didn't go back once we realized. Who chooses a place that will only be open 1h for a get togehter anyways?! I vote for B&N or Borders next time.

At least after all the moving and settling in is done it'll be time for AFO. I hope all the metrocon people are recovered by then. Somehow i'm down 13 pounds since starting my diet/exercise routine, which is rather surprising. Only 7 more pounds and I'll be back to my weight last year^^" Not really possibly before AFO, but hey, maybe by fall semester.

    Very noooo
    I hate you mapquest.

    ::yawns::
Looks like the last week of the semester is going to be extremely busy... Quiz, an assignment and 2 finals next monday, and i need to get some car things done before my trip to Boston in two weeks (oil change, tag renewal). Hopefully the finals won't be too hard. They are online after all, so it's not as if i need to spend too long studing. Only another 2 days until we move too! I can't wait to start getting setup in the new place. I know i'll be in the small room, but it shouldn't be too bad. I have the least stuff and the least furniture after all - not to mention being the only single guy.

I'll probably try to go to the Orlando Livejournal Meetup tonight. I've been hearing about them for months and months but never got out to any of them. Maybe i'll be lucky one month and it'll be held at Rockys or something. There are a ton of meetups, but it seems like no one rsvp's for most of them. The slashdot or various coding ones look like they might be interesting, or at the very least some inspiration to do more coding. Anyways, maybe i'll get the last of my semesters work done today so i can focus on moving and finals this weekend..

    12:06 am
    arrrgghhh
I hate vbnet. Our ISP here at the apartment has been extremely unstable lately. It was going on and off so often that I was aparently temp banned from AIM for an hour (for "signing on too soon"). Even now i'm losing the connection to the 'aim alerts' server making me restart AIM 4 or 5 times an hour. And not only that, RO is unplayable with disconnections every 10 minutes. ~_~

This weekend was a blast. Got drunk, hung out with tons of people, got to hear horror stories about metrocon, nakedness, underage drinking, police, hearts broken, people getting sick, hospital visits... OK, so not the greatest weekend for most, but hanging out with Pixie, Nate, Chicago and Bob was fun stuff. =)=) Didn't make it to the party, but we had fun either way. Sounds like we didn't miss much before the police came anyways.^^" I hope Shane is doing ok...

The con itself looked like it had potential to be incredible. It was at the Necro hotel, there were a few 24h anime rooms and a 24h gaming room with a ddr machine, para para, iidx, taiko. Sounds like it could've been awesome. Maybe I can get more people to go next year.

AFO is only 2 weeks away now.. Two days after afo i start driving up to Boston to visit dad -- and i'll probably stop by Otakon on the way^^" After getting drunk this weekend -- and remembering how bad the headache is the next day -- I'll be showing slightly more restaint at AFO...

    5:18 pm
    stuff
::yawns:: I don't know how i thought that 5 hours of sleep would be enough tonight. Planning on going back for Pixie's birthday pretty soon -- and probably stopping by metrocon for an hour or two on the way back. I have sooo much stuff i need to drop off at home that my car is overflowing. I had no idea I had that much junk.

Last few days have been a nice change from the usual. Zac and I atempted another 5am bbq that went much better. Nothing caught on fire this time luckily. Steaks over an open fire were definetely a nice change from ramen too.

Last night I finallly saw Pirates of the Carribean with Kome. Pirates was surprisingly good -- I see why everyone has been mentioning it. Definetely a dvd to buy when it comes out. LOTR TT should b comming out soon I think (even if kome doesn't care ;p). Anyways, packing time for the night.

    3:32 pm
    not too bad
Not quite as much goin on here in orlando as i thought for the 4th. Maybe next year i'll try to watch more fireworks than just what i can see from my window. Picked Vanessa sometime on friday to hang out, but not 3 hours later she left with Dan for his July 4th party. I definetely wasn't in the mood for a party on no notice, so i stayed here in Orlando. Sounds like it was fun though. On the bright side i got to play more RO during this 2x exp period ;p

Saturday hung out with Katie most the day. Went out to Oviedo mall and FOT. I'm surprised how few movies there are at CoC that i don't have/haven't seen -- aside from aniem that is =) Cool hanging out with Katie though -- as we both only wanted to go to a few places (arcade, CoC, FOT..). Rhem and Davids new place is pretty cool. Nice looking apt complex. I think we looked at it way back but didn't meet the rental critera there. Speaking of which we really have to turn in our paperwork soon as we move in in less than 20 days >_< They better still have rooms available when we go in tomorrow or we're completely screwed.
