For now there isn't much to see here (aside from a contantly growing movies section that is). I'm currently working on redoing this layout in XHTML (strict) in Fusebox 4 with quite a few improvements. It's just a side project for fun, but i think it would be useful to have a place anyone could manage a collection of their movies, and later, video games too. The user management php class is comming along, so once that's done i should be able to move along to the fun stuff. I won't be posting about the daily progress of this progress, so for something more active, feel free to check out the following sites instead: DDRei.com // DyoIT // Livejournal | | Thursday, December 23rd, 2004 | | 2:12 am |
Still here.. really I'm planning on making a few major changes to Dymension.org in the near future. In addition to this sleaker layout, a lot of sections that were left neglected will be brough back -- one like the image gallery. This is the original idea I had for a website that was a blog portal to any LJ type websites, but it was left uncompleted. As it stands now all of it is modular and accomodate any number of users -- except the movies section and the (unwritten) picture section. Once these two are done I move the site back over to fusebox I'll probably allow public registration -- just to see if anyone does want to try it out. Until then all previous links to the site should still work -- although now with the AIM blog layout (named that way because it fits perfectly into the aim_today window). Until I have more time to finish things up though, this will have to be it. :) | | Thursday, October 21st, 2004 | | 2:42 am |
Aim profile is back :) Yep! I'd been wanting to rewrite this thing now I have a little bit more of a reason. There are quite a few expansions I'd like to do with it, as it's really badly written. First step of course is making the layout CSS/XHTML compatible, then I'll go from there. Even if it's just me using it, its nice to have a central place to blog from. | | 2:41 am |

So, i'd been wanting to try something with XMLHTTPRequest for a while, finally had a good idea for it. I was originally wanting to make an active LJ search engine that would go through the rss feed from a journal. Sounded easy enough, but I didn't realize you can't use javascript or iframes on LJ. Ah well, one idea nullified. Instead I had to make it completely separate from LJ (and only for my LJ), but go check it out. :) | | Wednesday, October 6th, 2004 | | 11:15 pm |
hey all Yes i'm still around. For all you random people searching for "faye valentine pics", "fayetteville arkansas ex-mormons" and "starbucks 550mg drink", you'll find a downed picture database. Why is it down? Because i recently moved all my old pictures to here: http://www.dymension.org/gallery/. It's completly out of date unfortunately. The last time I took pictures as too long ago to remember. I have something waiting in the weeds for this site though, so don't stray too far. :) | | Wednesday, September 10th, 2003 | | 3:53 am |
owwww I am officially breaking the alliance with my right ankle. It has been nothing but trouble, betraying me at every turn. Tonight while I was out jogging I rolled it YET again. I was just turning around, halfway through my jog, and somehow my foot fell off the curb, cracked and left me laying in the street m_m. My new shoes are to blame for this -- they are far too thick to feel much through them, making things like that happen. After walking it off I was able to limp home at an above-gimp speed. It's not too bad to walk on now, I think my forces are advancing fast in resecuring the joint. This same thing has happend a number of times jogging this summer -- and playing DDR too. This was sadly the most painful of the lot. Nothing serious at least.
On the subject of jogging -- my diet has been working well so far. Getting back the gym a few times a week certainly helps as well. Somehow with work (aka fast food lunches) last winter, and all the chicken wing parties I was up to about 170 lbs from my 145lb weight not 6 months before. Weighing in now I'm at about 148 and slightly more lean. Not too bad -- just need to get in better DDR shape now. I still can't pass Maxx Unlimited! Paranoia Survivor Max is also evil -- as is the UCF machine for giving it to me as the FIRST song on nonstop-random_all. I thought we had a deal! | | Sunday, September 7th, 2003 | | 4:38 pm |
same old; same old Talk about timing. I was typing up an entry on how annoying my computer has been lately when out of the blue it restarts. It has been just suddenly stopping a lot lately. When I say stopping I mean completely freezing, with the screen unchanged, no response to anything. Other times it'll just restart. At first I was thinking it was a power source problem, and bought a NICE 430 watt ulta-quiet supply :) Unfortunately the problem is still there.. ~_~ So I took everything out. RAM, Processor, cards, dusted everything; nothing looked damaged. BUT aparently all the heatsink compound that connects the fan to the CPU was worn off. I had a little on hand, so we'll see if that helps...
Hung out with Eunice for a while last night at Rockys. Thinking back, the last time I saw her was when we ran into each other during her orientation. o.0 Somehow our schedules are complete opposites of each other too. She seemed impressed at the size of our bar too ;p /gg
Here at the apartment we've gotten back into gaming.. =) Why we stopped I'll never know! So much fun playing Big2 and Settlers; although we still need to try it as a drinking game. Anyone interested? | | Tuesday, September 2nd, 2003 | | 12:22 am |
gahhhhhh Man, although Shadow Creeks facilities are impressive -- indoor baskteball, sauna, nice gym -- they are run poorly. The laundry is NOT 24 hours, which is the source of my anger. I went down to get some quarters from walmart, and after getting them out of the back (they had no cash registers with any) I thought I was finally set. I throw them in; everything is going fine. But i come back a half hour later and the doors are locked! There's no hours on the door, and we use our gate keys to get in! So my clothes are spending the night abroad in some washer, probably already starting to smell -_-; Looks like I'll be getting up early to re-do them before class tomo-- today. | | Monday, September 1st, 2003 | | 2:20 am |
*yawns* Classes don't seem too bad this semester -- so long as I actually go that is. It seems like most people I know take college as a full time job (with the exception of our apartment ;). After spending a pathetic 1-2 hours a week on work this summer, when now i spend that much time just driving to class, i thought going back would be more taxing. I guess that won't happen until the workload kicks in. Luckily I have a nice spot in the library with a view that few take! Playing DDR and jogging lately I realize how much damage a summer of gaming did ;_; Putting in the effort i can still do about as well, if not better, when it comes to DDR, but my stamina drains fast. The gym here at Shadow Creek is pretty sweet though. They have a few treadmills with TVs right over them; and more facing out to the weight machines. Only problem is they are only open 8am-10pm. They are closed during my prime hours! I was thinking about checking out one of the 24h gyms in the area -- as there are 2 within a few minutes now. Paying money to wear myself out doesn't exactly seem like a good deal though. I'm sure i could pay friends to come over and drag me places and it would be much more effective. I haven't been able to play RO at all today ;_; For some reason our connection has been comming and going all day. We could access AIM but not web sites for while, then no RO either. Very annoying o.0 But at least this (default) layout is acceptable. | | Friday, August 29th, 2003 | | 12:45 am |
AIM conversation files #2! Maybe i'll make this a common thing ;p I ran a random search for posts and remembered doing this a while back. Total log file size for Dyogenez: 57.8mb Start date: June 5, 2002 Zac 8.21 mb (2.51mb) Damn! Megan 3.53 mb (3.42mb) Sivus 3.41 mb (2.57mb) Alex 3.15 mb (2.61mb) Marilyn 2.74 mb (1.85mb) Laura 2.25 mb (1.78mb) Eunice 2.21 mb (1.45mb) Katrina 1.71 mb (357k) Melissa 1.41 mb (811k) Katie 845 k (660k) Shannon 762 k (?k) Pixie 626 k (?k) Cassie 492 k (371k) errr, yeah there's 10 minutes of my life i wish I could have back ;p | | Thursday, August 28th, 2003 | | 12:07 am |
Compared to the rest of the week, Wednesday is a break. Lab, rain, ddr, rain, writing workshop, rain, walking to car. I ended up parking about a mile away from UCF down the exit to Tivoli road. Came home and went right back out to make my mistakes for the night... Now my TV is set to closed caption in Spanish; I can't win. | | Tuesday, August 26th, 2003 | | 12:57 am |
Nothing to be worried about so far =) I have to read Understanding Comics for my english class. How fucking cool is that :) We dont have to read any actual books for some reason either... The class is Digital Rhetorics and the Modern Dialectic: This online course explores the development of digital/online rhetorics through a close reading and analysis of formative rhetorical texts, modern American fiction and films. 3(3,0) . Aparently it and Hypertext (writting for the web) were combined into one cool techy english course. This will definetely be something new. The other book we need to read looks like one of the most unique things ever written. The Medium Is The Massage is the book, here is a sample page that just confuses me. It seems the entire book is like that! | | Monday, August 25th, 2003 | | 1:51 am |
uh...oh I'm looking over my class schedule and it's beginning to worry me. THis is the largest load of classes i've ever taken (by about 3 hours classtime after labs) which means i may soon be dropping one. I"ll see how they all go this week i suppose. Either way, i'm glad I wont be working this semester. It's sort of funny though, my mom tells me not to work hard (work smart), not to get a job now, and to have fun; while my dad says to get a job, focus only on school and live on an extremely limited budget. How different are these two people? I'll have to side with my mom on this one ;) | | Saturday, August 23rd, 2003 | | 4:05 am |
.... No more Jello shots... ::groan:: ~_~ | | Friday, August 22nd, 2003 | | 5:39 pm |
Is there anything hazelnut coffee creamer doesn't go with?^^ Pouring it over some strawberries is a great unhealthy snack ;p Then pour the leftover in coffe for some extra flavor :) | | 2:10 am |
Productivity returns! Doing laundry outside the apt is a huge chore. On campus it was better still being able to just walk down, throw them in, skate around a little bit then come back. But here it requires driving to the laundramat, having loads of spare change on hand (they don't take tokens ^_^""). Not only that, but the cost is much higher -- $2.25 a load! Thats 1.25 for washer plus another $1 for drying. Such a rip off. There's a place down at the corner of Tuskawilla i'll check out next time. The only advantage is that no one is around there, so i can throw them in and come back later. Checked out cell phones -- I WILL get one before the end of august; and checked out some desks. I swear with my room arrangement there is nothing that will work! This is the most awkwardly shaped room i've ever been in by far -_-; Ended up getting some running shoes and stopping in borders for a bday present for Marilyn.
After RO lagged me to death about 10 times, Kome and I decided to hang out and watch a movie. But since she is minus one dvd player we ended up hanging out and watching WB sitcoms instead^^" Still fun, and now she gets to go up to the northeast to 'suffer' up there as I did (translation: with family).
There doesn't seem to be anywhere closeby to jog. Without going all the way down to Blanchard, Lily or other parks i'm sort of lanlocked. I haven't checked out Red Bug Lake Park yet as it's usually crawling with Soccer crowds. If i keep jogging nightly i'm sure i'll find something!
... and this saturday should be fun O:-) | | Thursday, August 21st, 2003 | | 12:48 am |
free at last! After 4 days with dad, then 3 days with mom i'm finished with my family obligations for this quarter. Spending that much time trying to make conversation with people who have so few interests is difficult. My dad is a manager of IT for Capital One, so we spent a lot of time talking tech and music. I ended up getting 3 burned cds of random stuff of his -- lot of interesting stuff. With my mom we don't generally hang out exclusively for as long periods of time -- not 14 hours straight -___-; So we just ended up going out to eat and talking. Zac came along with us to Crazy Buffett (what is it with us and buffets lately o.0). With that complete I have a good 4 days to rest nad play a little RO before classes pick up :) | | Tuesday, August 19th, 2003 | | 3:00 am |
finally After a lot of thinking about it up there, i realized why New England was so much different than NC, out west or Orlando. All have very similar plant life (except orlando), and are almost equally green. But NE smells completely different. At first i was thinking it was because it's so close to the major cities in the area -- NYC, Boston even Providence. I don't think that's quite it though. Even Orlando has more of a unique scent than these areas. I think what i was missing was the smell of rain. It doesn't seem to rain there half as much as Orlando, Seattle or the smoky mountains. I suppose that's yet another one of the requirements of my future home. I retook that FindYourSpot test when i was up there (and really bored -- i took a lot of tests^^) to find that pretty much all of my top 10 had high amounts of rain. Still lots of places in Oregon on that list, which seems accurate. That area has about the same weather as Seattle, but is a little more green due to less freezes. You lose the big city feel of farther north though. One of my favorite memories of Oregon was finding a nice strip of coastline with an endless amount of tidepools, and caves along the shoreline with every type of sealife you could find in an aquarium. Funny that places like that exist right under our noses sometimes. If you've never eaten Boston Lobster Feast you're missing out. Since my mom is in town we went out there for dinner. Man, 5 lobsters and a load of other stuff... So good :) It feels like I was away for much longer than just 4 days. Thinking about, the last time i was away from orlando that long was Christmas; and before that this same week last year. I've really grown used to my independence here... | | Monday, August 18th, 2003 | | 1:41 am |
