4:58p - strange things are afoot at the circle k
so the new girl started on monday. her name is kylee. yuh-huh, kylee with two e's. she is very, very nice. she came over from nordie's so she hooked us all up with sweet jeans before she left. she doesn't have a computer yet, so she's been training with me. in my cubicle. yeah. so she's sitting with me all day long. all day long. it's kind of an experience. she really is very nice. and i don't actually hate her, which is great. she does talk a lot, though. A LOT. things i know about kylee thus far: she's catholic. her parents are divorced. her mom is getting remarried to some guy she met off the internet 6 weeks ago. she gets constipated a lot and has to drink some foul herbal remedy thing to be regular. her brother brandie died a couple of years ago. his initials are b.d.w. i know that those are his initials because they are tattooed on her back. so yeah, she's very nice, very talkative and very open. very open.
this is the thing, though. at the end of the day yesterday...she, uh...hugged me. yeah. and she hugged me at lunch today. she actually hugged me, HUGGED. i didn't know what to do. i mean, she HUGGED me, man! like with her arms and stuff. i mean, how rude would it be of me to say, "yeah, i am SO not a hugger of people i just met, lady." i mean who the fuck HUGS their co-workers for no reason? for that matter, who the fuck hugs ME, man? you guys know me, don't you, a damn sight better than kylee and seriously...when was the last time you hugged me? unless you live in a different city and i only see you once every two or three months. or unless i was drunk. so my point is, if this girl hugs me again and giggles, i am so going to scream. or kill her. whatever my first instinct happens to be. i'm leaning towards kill. which would really be counter-productive because then i'll have to do all her work.

in lighter news, we got pez'd this week, which is wamu shorthand for the XP rollout. XP seems pretty cool. it's all pretty and fast and stuff and i can do a lot more than i could before. there's only one drawbacks that i can find: that goddamn teletubbies background. WHAT THE FUCK!?! it freaks my shit out. why would you want a strangely mobile green hilly landscape? i don't GET IT. everyone around here thinks i'm boring now. "ooh, where's the hilly brush and the moors and the castles in the sky? why is your screen all dumb and lame and square and easy to read, huh? if you look really close at my picturesque landscape, you can actually see thrushcross grange. et in arcadio ego!"
assholes. i hate them and i hate their stupid silly crap. although, to be fair, none of them actually said the above. probably because they were math majors.
