3:58a - you put the boom-boom into my heart
so here's how it all starts-- a completely inoccuous email that read something like this: "To celebrate the most profitable quarter in division history, please join us for a reception in the Four Seasons Spanish Ballroom." how lovely. of course i'll go. of course we'll ALL go.
and once again, an open bar spells disaster for washington mutual's capital markets group in the home loans and insurance services division.
do you know what happens to accountants when they get drunk? they remember that they used to be frat boys. male bonding happens. homophobic insults are hurled. shots are taken. chairs find themselves overturned. things are broken. good times.
you know there's trouble when *I* am the sober one herding peope into cabs.
in other news--i went back to whole foods today. for those of you who have forgotten, that's where i got hit by the car that one time. yeah. i was in the area, brunching (that's not a word, is it? okay, it is now.), and my companion said "is it okay if we stop at the market real quick?" i, of course, said "why, sure." when we pulled into the parking lot, i thought to myself, "hmm. deja vu." then we got out of the car and i saw the whole foods sign and i said, "uh-uh. nothin' doin.'" after much coaxing, i overcame my fear and crossed the street in the little walkway where i, you know, got hit by a car driven by a guy named brad (who i'm going to call b-rad from this point henchforth). yeah, it was pretty weird. that place didn't look anything at all like i remembered it, although, to be fair, most of the time i was there, i was lying on the ground in varying states of consciousness. you kind of lose perspective that way. but you know what i found out? whole foods is fucking awesome! they have way better stuff than qfc, and i would totally shop there all the time if i lived in the u-district or if i had a car, or more appropriately, if i could drive.
