3:00p - do you believe in premarital sax?
no, that wasn't a typo and anyone who can identify the source of that subject line gets a shiny new penny!
okay, so this is the thing: i've been back at work feeling all energized and stuff. good moods all around. or maybe it's all the tasty medicis and mistos i've been throwing down my gullet, i dunno. point is, work has been relatively painless. turns out all i needed was a vacation to the happiest place on earth. who knew?
moving on. so there's that "it's a small world" ride in the middle of fantasyland. if you're unfamiliar, it's just a boat ride through scenes of little animatronic kids from around the world singing "it's a small world after all" in various languages. i suspect that the intent of the ride is not merely to amuse, but also to teach us tolerance and kindness because regardless of language, ethnicity and geographic proximity, we're all the same underneath. i could be wrong, though. that is, however, neither here nor there. i've got some questions:
1) why were the little african kids singing in english? 2) was it just me, or do the japanese kids sound like they're just making it up as they go along? 3) you know at the end, when all the kids from around the world are dressed in white and dancing and singing together? are they dead? 4) so the scenes they have are supposed to be somewhat realistic representations of real cultures, right? you get the little hawaiian kids surfing and dancing hula, the little dutch girls standing around a windmill, the british kids guarding buckingham palace, the mermaids bobbing around and singing...wait. the MERMAIDS? where the fuck do these mermaids come from? what is that supposed to mean, oh yeah, sure, we can all get along...and mermaids exist. where are the little leprechaun kids? 5) last but not least, i know for a goddamn fact that there is more than one verse to that fucking song...in the 20 minutes they looped it, you think they could have sung more than the first four lines?
if you know, please enlighten me, because it's going to bug me forever...and i think that until i get it cleared up, the song is going to stay in my head. i'm begging you.
"are you wearing two belts?"
