I figured out what was wrong. It was a stupid mistake, too.
I was using digit extraction to hash a file. I extracted two digits but only had 84 spaces in my file. So, for a few records, I extracted two digits and formed a number larger than 84, which threw off the file.
Today has been the day of DF making stupid COBOL mistakes. Argh. I am so ready to be done with this class.
