Fuyu no Uta ~ Jindou |

This is one of those times that makes me want to say "Life sucks," even though it really doesn't. In fact, that's really the opposite of the truth, considering that what I'm so busy with is interviews for summer internships. Who knew that any company would want to employ a college student who feels like she doesn't know nearly enough yet to really be of help to a company? Apparently, though, I know enough to at least be useful. After all, how many computer science majors get internships the summer after their freshman year?
Interviewing tomorrow for an on-campus research position. This one looks iffy, because I'm pretty sure that they'll want me to sign at least a one-year contract, and I'm not sure that I could hold down twenty hours a week at a job during the school year; I could barely keep up with the twelve hours a week that I worked last semester. Then on Wednesday, I have to make up a Physics lab that I'll be missing on Thursday. On Thursday I'll be driving an hour and a half to Columbus to interview at JPMorgan Chase for a position that would be kind of a pain to have, because I'll have to find housing in Columbus, which is two hours away from my home, and I'd probably have to have a car, which I don't have, because public transportation over here isn't quite what I hear it is across the Atlantic. Then, on Friday, I'll be doing a phone interview with NCR, which is my best bet because my aunt works there and has offered to let me live with her for the summer.
Whew. Also, I made a startling discovery last night while being extremely tired and attempting to relax by poking around the intarweb. Apparently, goldfish do not actually have three-second memory limits. According to this Wikipedia article, the TV show Mythbusters tested this hypothesis. Their findings are as follows: "Jamie trained his goldfish to recognize color patterns and complete an obstacle course under water. They remembered what Jamie had taught them over a month later and easily completed the same course without Jamie's prompting." Who knew goldfish were so smart?
And now I have a website to polish for my interview tomorrow, and samples of my work to get together and print out. Which reminds me, I need to print my Programming assignment before class. Which means I'd better leave now.
