I had my last exam this morning. Thanks to all who have been praying for me, though I didn't feel I went all that well. My first two (Hebrews and Evangelism) exams were pretty good, Theology, was OK, but I really struggled with Former Prophets. Which is a shame, because that was one of my Honours subjects, and I had been aiming for a First.
We had to write an essay, and I had been hoping for a question on the so-called "succession narrative" (or as I prefer to call it, Thronfolgegeschichte) of 2 Samuel 8 – 20, but it didn't appear, so I had to make up something about Samuel's attitude to kingship. Then we had to translate and comment on two passages. There were two I was particularly hoping for, but only one (2 Samuel 5:6-12) was on the exam, so I was forced to rely on my backup option (1 Samuel 9:20-27). And it certainly wasn't my best work.
Anyway, that's all behind me now. Yet I'm not really on holidays – I have five talks to prepare for my African trip. Tomorrow, DV, I'll explain what they are, and post an itinerary.
