8:25PM - 1 Corinthians 9:5

Do we not have the right to take along a believing wife, as do the other apostles and the brothers of the Lord and Cephas?
(1 Corinthians 9:5, ESV)

Literally, it says, "a sister, a wife", and I can't help thinking that there is an allusion here to Song of Solomon 5:1 ("my sister, my bride"). However, in the Greek translation of the Old Testament a different word is used.

Anyway, one day I would love to preach on this verse.

8:56PM - Wise words from Driscoll

If you haven't heard of Mark Driscoll by now, you need to crawl out from under that rock. He's the pastor of Mars Hill Church in Seattle and this is from his Reflections on Preaching:

After you've preached, let it go and sleep like a Calvinist. Don't listen to your sermons over and over beating yourself up. Once you've preached a sermon, let it be a finished work and move on.
