1:39PM - We're off to Germany!
Well, not quite "we", but the Socceroos have qualified for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, after a thrilling victory over Uruguay last night. My nerves were shot to pieces, but Mark Schwarzer was as cool as a cucumber, and absolutely brilliant, stopping two goals in the penalty shoot-out:
On a related note, some of you will know that I'm playing soccer again, myself - I'm the coach and goalkeeper of the Caulfield Presbyterian soccer team. We're playing in a league next year, but we have our first practice match this coming Saturday...
