MY FAMILY TREE....

i suspect somewhere up there in the tree... my ancestors must have
come from korea, japan or sth...

when i was in paris, the chinese restaurant ppl gave me a korean
menu...

when i went to the supermarket, the ang moh greeted me in jap

when i was in taiwan... the shop ppl spoke to me in jap...

and during the blues workshop last weekend, i met a french guy
called Julien... he moved to vietnam with his vietnamese wife and
we were talking abt language, race etc... den he asked....

Julien: so you are...

Dawnut: I am Singaporean

Julien: born here

Dawnut: yup

Julien: your parents are...

Dawnut: They are Singaporean too... born here...

Julien: Race?

Dawnut: Chinese... we have other races too...

Julien: So your grandparents....

Dawnut: Grand-dad came from China... the rest were born here

Julien still looked bewildered.... mayb Singapore has too many
races and there aint a "look" that defines us.... hahaha...
