Well, coo.
I've managed to lose the remaining 3.5lb. That's 6.5lb gained in the last fortnight and lost in the last four days. I had to get on the scales several times to check as it does NOT normally happen that way round!
I don't know whether to be deeply suspicious or overjoyed, but I'm inclined to the latter. Here's hoping I don't completely ruin everything this weekend. With a bit of luck I won't; we're not entertaining this time, and seeing as the weather is looking reasonable, I have high hopes of finishing off the right side of the gravel fan and getting started on the left side. (The dustmen are coming today so we should have a nice empty bin too.)
H and the SSW are playing in the National Finals at the end of this month (sixth time for H, first time for this band). Apparently the two main adjudicators are top euphonium players, so if H gets any positive comments on the adjudicator notes, they'll have extra special significance to him, especially as he's the solo (lead) euph player now. He's been practising the contest piece this week (Edit: to reiterate - this is for the end of the month, i.e. not just yet, although thanks for the good luck wishes. I just commented because this is the first time I've really heard the piece) and it sounds pretty good, so I have high hopes.
