Sundown Today has been a good day.
After a good lie-in bar some odd dreams, after one of which I had to work out whether I'd really read a news article about a mine concealed in a charm bracelet or just dreamt the whole thing up (GUESS!), plus an excellent brekky, H and I went to Divecrew in Bracknell to cash in his birthday vouchers and get prepped for some scuba diving courses. (He has to do a five-module course and take an exam, heehee!) We also got him some basic kit: gloves (these were free with the course), shortie wetsuit, mask, slip-on boots and flippers. Most of these were wonderfully co-ordinated in black and blue, although I cheerfully voted for the grey flippers with fluorescent yellow markings because this way he'll be easier to spot underwater. H started watching the first DVD related to said course this afternoon and it made me conclude that I will never, ever want to scuba dive as the thought of my lungs exploding if I accidentally hold my/run out of breath (among other things), but H is, unlike me, phenomenally fit with a lung capacity which is off the charts, so he will no doubt rock it.
I have done just over four hours of work in an attempt to catch up on things a bit. A few more hours tomorrow and we'll be cooking. We will then be rounding off our Sunday with a visit to the three Michelin-starred Waterside Inn in Bray. Eeeek! I am going to be wearing my swanky new Carvela Dagger shoes (which I have just about broken in now) in an attempt to look, ahahaha, elegant. As per dress code. Yes, I am a little intimidated by the thought of going to such a place. But the need to try that tasting menu outweighs all of that. Oh, yes! |
