a great man died today. it still catches me off-guard at odd moments, and i can't really help crying. most of you didn't have the pleasure of knowing Bill Pergerson personally, but you might hear of the legends he left behind, or know somebody who knew him. he was the sweetest man, and you could not ask for a better grandfather, father, husband, in-law, friend, scout leader, or even random samaritan. he was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. it's hard to say goodbye to a person like that, but the great thing about Christianity is that it isn't really goodbye. it's a temporary seperation. a blink of an eye later: we'll be together again.
