Hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving! We ate at this wonderful Italian restaurant in Little Italy. I had the best stuffed mushrooms there! And their pecan pie was to die for. On Wednesday, we ate at a quaint little cafe and bakery in Little Italy where i had the best, most authentic Tiramasu I've ever eaten. I can't think of how to adequately describe just how good it really was. This place had been in the same location, and owned and operated by the same famliy for 90 years. I thought that was so cool!
The CIA was awesome! I love the big, spread-out campus. It's about 90 minutes from NYC, and right on the Hudson River. Their baking and pastry program is the shiz! I would get to learn how to make pretty marzipan and sugar sculptures! I tried to make marzipan roses once, but they didn't look as pretty as i hoped. Classes were in session, so we got to see people in action. It was so cool! The Culinary Institute of America is my #1 choice so far. I can really picture myself going to school there. There are about 2500 students enrolled right now, so its not too big, but still a good size. They have an awesome exercise and recreation center, too, with a 1/2 size olympic pool, indoor tennis and basket ball courts, and a huge aerobic facility. They say that the usual "freshmen 15" is actually more like the "freshmen 40" there, so its good that they have such an awesome rec center. They serve all of the food that is made in the classes in the school cafeteria, as well...no "tuna surprise" for the CIA! They also have 4 student-run restaurants and one student-run cafe/bakery. We ate @ the cafe. It was so good! (and very affordable!) now, i just have to find a non fast-food fod service job...they require @ least 6 months experience in a professional kitchen, so you know kind of what it will be like. I an very excited about the CIA, if you hadn't guessed already!
I'm 18!!!!!! Now, i can drive people around legally! We've been teasing Keriann, b/c she is the only child left in the family. (haha!) My mom feels really old, too.
Now i get to do HOMEWORK!!!! woo-hoo....

Hope everyone's halloween was good! i didn't dress up, b/c i was staying home, and only ally and my parents would see me...also, we were watching movies and i didn't want to get fake blood all over the furniture. I know u'll be disappointed, k8-t, and i'm sorry. but, i can still use it for next year!
speaking of the movies, we watched Sleepy Hollow (ur welcome, k8-t...lol) and Pet Cemetary. Good stuff. After telling Ally "the story" about PS, she couldnt say no to watching it. I had fun...i hope u did too, ally! i know it wasn't as fun/good as ur haunted house would've been, but better than doing nothing! well, i'm off to go get ready for church, then babysit (yay $$!).

"When Doves Cry" (by Prince) How could you just leave me standing, Alone in a world so cold? Maybe you're just too demanding. Maybe I'm just like my father--too bold. Maybe you're just like my mother. She's never satisfied. Why do we scream at each other? This is what it sounds like, When doves cry.

My inner child is ten years old!
The adult world is pretty irrelevant to me. Whether I'm off on my bicycle (or pony) exploring, lost in a good book, or giggling with my best friend, I live in a world apart, one full of adventure and wonder and other stuff adults don't understand.

You are Form 9, Vampire: The Undying.
"And The Vampire was all that remained on the blood drowned creation. She attempted to regrow life from the dead. But as she was about to give the breath of life, she was consumed in the flame of The Phoenix and the cycle began again."
Some examples of the Vampire Form are Hades (Greek) and Isis (Egyptian). The Vampire is associated with the concept of death, the number 9, and the element of fire. Her sign is the eclipsed moon.
As a member of Form 9, you are a very realistic individual. You may be a little idealistic, but you are very grounded and down to earth. You realize that not everything lasts, but you savor every minute of the good times. While you may sometimes find yourself lonely, you have strong ties with people that will never be broken. Vampires are the best friends to have because they are sensible.

I have successfully found a Halloween costume! I am so proud! I put it together myself. I am going to be a Crazy Scientist who has been Killed in a Lab Explosion! I first found the white lab coat, and then i wandered over to the "fake blood and injuries" aisle, where i spotted the "glass attack" wounds! it is going to be great! lots of fake blood...hehehe >:) I think it'll be a very fun-filled Halloween night, watching scary movies with friends, and taking lots of pictures of the costumes. I really want to make this for Friday! Mmm...chocolate. And it goes with the day's theme, which is even better!

No school tomorrow! Thanks, Kevin, for suggesting a no-marching practice for today! I think we're all very grateful. Tomorrow i plan to go to party city and see what they have left for costumes, and maybe head over to the Dav and see what i can scrounge up there...then, on to pumpkin shopping! And making pumpking bread! (we'll be express-mailing some to yopu, k8-t!) Maybe i can see if allison wants to do something, like a movie-group, or something. That would be fun...
I have an itch to make something, but i don't know what...i think i might make apple pie this weekend, but until then, i want to make something else...if you ave any suggestions, just send them my way! I work best with some sort of "plan" (i.e. somebody wants me to make them something, so i feel obligated to, and therefore am more likely to make it sooner rather than later, if that makes any sense)

sup, y'all. Maybe I'll have more success on staying active on this journal...there's always hope. Still playing around with the settings...hopefully my layout will get a little better in the near future.
i just got 23 free national geographics from the library! Is there anything cooler than that? i think not. now i have so much more mail-art and letter writing materials to use. now to find the time to actually WRITE the letters...that would be helpful. Due to my recent possession of educational magazines, i have found myself rambling about sciene-related stuff more than usual. Just a few minutes ago, i found myself informing my mom why her sauce began to thicken up after it had cooled. i love it when i can unite my knowledge of science and cooking.
