    AVB targets Fernando Llorente

Spurs line up bid for Llorente

The Luka Modric saga is almost at an end, and Tottenham Hotspur fans can breath a sigh of relief...well, for a short while at least, until they realise they still have serious issues up front!

Enter AVB.  The new Tottenham Hotspur boss is set to spend the bulk of the Luka Modric transfer fee on Spanish striker Fernando Llorente, according to today's Transfer Rumours And Gossip.

There have been stories surrounding Spurs mouting a move for Fernando Llorente for the large part of this transfer window, and reports did emerge that Llorente himself had said he did not fancy a move to White Hart Lane.  However, these reports were clearly smoke screens to shield the real deal, as now that the Luka Modric money is flowing like water, AVB and Tottenham Hotspur are mysteriously back in for the player.  There must be some sort of agreement in place between Tottenham Hotspur and Athletic Bilbao, as now that the Modric deal is moving, Llorente and Spurs are both interested again.

The situation with Llorente at Athletic Bilbao is similar to that of Robin Van Persie with Arsenal.  The player has only one year left on his current contract and has said that he does not wish to extend that deal.  Therefore, Athletic Bilbao, just like Arsenal, must look to sell the player now or risk losing him for free to a much bigger club.  Athletic Bilbao are not prepared to allow the player to exit the building for free, so are willing to listen to offers now.  However, it will not be plain sailing for AVB and Tottenham, as a player of Llorente's calibre has already attracted the likes of Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester United.  It will be a very good signing if AVB can make it work.

Tottenham Hotspur prepare to offer for Pablo Osvaldo

    Spurs target Roma striker Osvaldo

The recent Transfer Rumours And Gossip writers are today reporting that Tottenham Hotspur boss AVB has focused his sights to AS Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo.

Tottenham have been in the market for a striker for the entire summer transfer window and have been linked with a lot of big names including Roberto Soldado, Hulk, Fernando Llorente, Emmanuel Adebayor, Darren Bent and Dimitar Berbatov.  However, Spurs have not been successful in hiring the services of any of these targets, and are currently facing the prospect of starting the new Premier League season with Jermain Defoe as their only recognised senior striker and Harry Kane, who was on loan at Millwall last season.  Whilst Kane looks a very competant striker and prospect for the future, getting the youngester to lead the line against Newcastle United and beyond may be a bit too much, too soon.

So AVB and Daniel levy are still wheeling and dealing and looking for the right striker, or strikers, to help round off their new look Tottenham Hotspur team.  Pablo Osvaldo may be the answer to their prayers.  Osvaldo joined AS Roma from Espanyol last summer and had a very solid first season in the Serie A, netting 11 times and creating 5 goals.  It seems Levy and AVB will face a huge battle to secure the signing of Pablo Osvaldo, with new AS Roma boss Zdenek Zeman doing everything within his powers to keep the player at the Stadio Olimpico.  Let the battle commence!

Manchester United agree a deal to sign Robin Van Persie for £22 million

RVP to Man Utd deal agreed for £22 million

It is the Transfer Rumours And Gossip that no Arsenal fan will want to hear, but it has been confirmed that Robin Van Persie will be leaving Arsenal to join Manchester United for £22 million.

Robin Van Persie had his best season ever last season.  As a general rule, RVP has had an amazing start to every season for Arsenal, but would always get an injury around Christmas time that would keep him out until the latter part of the season.  Robin Van Persie, whilst clearly a genius when fit, was always frustrating the Arsenal fans with his inconsistant fitness record.  Or should I say, consistant fitness record...he has consistantly been injured from December until March or April, as a rule.  However, last season saw a fully fit Robin Van Persie firing on all cylinders, and look at what happened!  RVP topped the scoring charts and single handedly dragged Arsenal back from the brink of Europa League obscurity to finish 3rd, and beat bitter rivals Tottenham to the final Champions League spot.  It is little wonder that Robin Van Persie alerted all the top sides across Europe with the kind or performances he was putting in.  It is also little wonder that Robin Van Persie has now decided that the temptation to move to a bigger club has become too much, following talks with Arsene Wenger about the future of Arsenal.  It has been reported that Robin Van Persie and Arsene Wenger do not see eye to eye on the direction that Arsenal should be heading, and the ways that the club should build for the future.  The result has been Robin Van Persie stating that he does not intend to extend his current contract at Arsenal, which expires next summer.  Therefore, Arsenal have the choice between selling RVP now for a profit, or keeping him at The Emirates for one more season and watching him walk away on a free in 12 monthes time.  It is a no brainer for Arsene Wenger really, but the future is looking a bit grim with no Robin Van Persie at Arsenal...especially when RVP will be wearing the red of Manchester United come August 18th.

Tottenham Hotspur prepare to sign Pablo Osvaldo

    Spurs target Roma striker Osvaldo

The latest Transfer Rumours And Gossip writers are today claiming that Tottenham Hotspur boss AVB has turned his sights to AS Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo.

Tottenham have been in the market for a strikeforce for the entire summer transfer window and have been linked with a load of big names including Roberto Soldado, Hulk, Fernando Llorente, Emmanuel Adebayor, Darren Bent and Dimitar Berbatov.  However, Spurs have not been successful in securing the services of any of these players, and are currently facing the prospect of starting the new Premier League season with Jermain Defoe as their only recognised senior striker and Harry Kane, who was on loan at Millwall last season.  Whilst Kane looks a very good striker and prospect for the future, asking the youngester to lead the line against Newcastle United and beyond may be a little too much, too soon.

Tottenham Hotspur have had a massive bid rejected for Roberto Soldado

Spurs make huge offer for Soldado

The latest Transfer Rumours And Gossip writers are concentrating their efforts on Tottenham Hotspur, and the massive offer the club made to Valencia for striker Roberto Soldado.

It is no secret that Tottenham Hotspur are in desperate need of a strike force, with Jermain Defoe being the only first team striker option for Andre Villas Boas at this point.  Spurs open their Premier League campaign in 3 days time.  As things stand, AVB will need to choose between Jermain Defoe, who barely started a game under Harry Redknapp and has not found his scoring form in a Spurs shirt for a very long time, or Harry Kane.  Harry Kane is a youth player that AVB has given some time to during pre season, following a decent loan spell at Millwall last season.  Tobe fair, Kane does look the real deal and will develop into a full international and Spurs hero in the future.  However, for a brand new manager with a lot of pressure on his shoulders like AVB, pinning all his hopes on a relatively unproven talent is a massive risk and one that AVB looks uncertain as to whether he is happy taking.

So the search for a proven strike force continues for AVB and Spurs, as the attention turns to Roberto Soldado of Valencia.  It has been reported that Spurs offered the 30 million Euro buyout clause that Soldado has in his contract.  However, the player has stated he does not want to leave Valencia anytime soon. It is a shame, as Soldado scored 27 times in all competitions last season, helping Valencia to 3rd spot in La Liga.  Soldado does sound like a promising prospect.  Every Tottenham Hotspur fan will be hoping that the public rejection is just a way to increase the wage offered to Soldado when Spurs go back for another sniff.

Xabi Alonso is moving to Tottenham Hotspur in Modric switch

Xabi Alonso to Spurs as part of Modric deal

It could be the transfer that every Tottenham Hotspur supporters and AVB have been waiting and hoping for....Luka Modric out and Xabi Alonso in!

The latest Transfer Rumours And Gossip journo's are reporting that Xabi Alonso has informed Real Madrid that he does not want to renew his current deal.  The Luka Modric saga is thought to be nearing an end, with a £25 million deal having been agreed with Real Madrid, and Tottenham Hotspur wanting the deal to be kept quiet from the media until the replacement for Modric has been announced.  The question has to be asked as to why Daniel Levy would suddenly drop his asking price by £15 million, a week after declaring £40 million or no deal?  The answer to this question could well be that the transfer is actually £25 million PLUS a player?  That would make a lot more sense, with Spurs trying to keep the matter out of the spotlight until personal terms have been agreed with Xabi Alonso.

Xabi Alonso enjoyed a glittering career at Liverpool, helping them to a Champions League win and linking up with Steven Gerrard in what, many may argue, was the best central midfield pairing of all time.  I must say, I would definately be one of those agreeing with that statement.  Xabi Alonso is a world class central midfielder.  The man can do everything.  He is a defensive legend, can pick a pass and has exceptional vision.  He is a dead ball wizard and long range expert. Xabi Alonso gets goals, assists and drives a team forward.  The man is a natural leader and works like a trojan for his team mates.  If AVB can bring Xabi Alonso to Tottenham Hotspur, I genuinely believe it will cement AVB in Spurs folklore.

I for one am praying  that this deal occurs.

Juventus turn their sights on Luis Suarez, as RVP rejects contract

Juventus turn their attentions to Suarez

It is the report that no fan of Liverpool Football Club will need to hear, but Juventus have moved their transfer sights to Luis Suarez, after the chase for Robin Van Persie hits a brick wall.

Juventus have followed Robin Van Persie for a long time now, since it was stated that he would not be renewing his contract at Arsenal, based on Arsene Wenger's lack of ambition for the team.  This statement from the Arsenal talisman came as a bullet to the heart for every Arsenal supporter, and alerted literally ever big club side across the planet.  Robin Van Persie had a storming season last term, managing to stay injury free, and topping the scoring tables for the Premier League.

However, it appears that Arsenal's reluctance to buy and try to build for the future has finally got to the player, and he will follow every other quality player that Arsenal have ever had....out the place.  So many fans around the world have been pulling their hair out at the ludicrous nature of the behaviour of the Arsenal hierarchy, but it appears they are happy to allow Arsenal to stagnate and stay as a mid table outfit for the forseeable future.

Juventus have now turned their attentions to Luis Suarez.  Suarez has been a controversial figure at Anfield, and did not have the best season for Liverpool Football Club.  Perhaps the boo boys have started getting to him, but an offer to move out of his Liverpool hell could be like a godsend to the Uruguayan.

AVB is looking to start with Harry Kane upfront against NUFC

AVB set to start with Harry Kane upfront against Newcastle United

The striker crisis at Tottenham Hotspur may be less of a crisis, and more of an opportunity for young Harry Kane, as AVB looks set to start with the teenager upfront against Newcastle United on August 18th.

Tottenham Hotspur have been searching for an appropriate strikeforce for the entire close season now, but have yet failed to deliver.  There have been numerous names linked to Spurs, like Leandro Damaio, Fernando Llorente, Daniel Sturridge, Emmanuel Adebayor, Demba Ba, Hulk...the list goes on.  There have even been random tenuous links to former strikers Dimitar Berbatov and Darren Bent!  Whilst these two strikers still may have a lot to offer their respective clubs and countries, it would have been a large step backwards, had Tottenham Hotspur decided to go down that road.

AVB has a clear picture as to what he wants to achieve at White Hart Lane in the future, and it looks to many like a marriage made in heaven.  Tottenham Hotspur are a club on the up, with the most loyal and passionate fan base in the entire Premier League, a historic style of play that their fans adore and that AVB likes to adopt.  AVB is a young, successful manager who will bring silverware to Tottenham Hotspur in a fashion that the Spurs fans want to see.  Bringing a young striker through from the youth team to start his first competitive match in the EPL is just AVB's style, and the story could well be written that Harry Kane scores the winner, in true fairytale fashion.

Who needs a big name striker?

Tottenham Hotspur are close to a deal for Yann M'Vila

Spurs close to a deal for M'Vila

He has been a strong transfer target for Arsenal, but it is Tottenham Hotspur who have tabled an official offer to take Rennes highly rated midfielder Yann M'Vila back to White Hart Lane, according to today's Transfer Rumours And Gossip journalists.

Tottenham Hotspur have had a tumultuous summer transfer window to date, with the Luka Modric story rolling on with no answers to date.  Spurs are in real need of a front line, and have been linked to a lot of the top names across the planet.  However, it still seems that AVB is spending more time working on the centre of midfield.  Maybe the latest stories about Real Madrid backing out of a deal for Luka Modric are not true?  Maybe a ploy to drive the price up further, as the deadline approaches?  It would appear that not all is as it seems at White hart Lane in this respect, as AVB is continually focusing on midfield replacements, as opposed to adding to the strike force.

AVB sees Yann M'Vila as an suitable replacement to bolster the Tottenham Hotspur midfield, should Modric depart.  Yann M'Vila would work well with Tom Huddlestone and Sandro, whilst Scott Parker recovers from his surgery.

Yann M'Vila has promised to give 100% to the role at Rennes, should it be that his perfect move to the Premier League does not occur.  However, M'Vila is a name that has been linked to a series of big clubs across Europe and a few in the Premier League so far.  Whilst he has pledged his allegience to his current club Rennes, it would be very surprising not to see him lining up for a Premier League team on August 18th.

Aly Cissokho to decide between moving to Tottenham Hotspur or Juve

Spurs and Juve in the hunt for Cissokho

Today's Transfer Rumours And Gossip writers are claiming that Lyon wing back Aly Cissokho is the matter of a transfer war between Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus.

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking into the lively wing back for a few monthes now, and AVB has made Aly Cissokho his main defensive transfer target.  It was thought that a deal would be made in the very near future and the switch would be seemingly straight forward.  However, Juventus have now joined the party, after their pursuit of Manchester City defender Kolorov went cold.

Juventus were almost sure that they would get their man when they started negotiations over the possibility of transferring Kolorov to Italy.  Everything appeared to be going their way, until Roberto Mancini decided that Kolorov was to play a part in his future plans for Manchester City.  Mancini has stopped the potential move for Kolorov to Juventus at the last hour, forcing Juventus to look at other targets.  The Italian Champions have shifted their attentions to Aly Cissokho as a result, making Tottenham's life a lot more difficult than thought.

Aly Cissokho is 24 years of age and has enjoyed a very solid season at Lyon.  However, it has long been expected that Cissokho would leave during this summer transfer window.  It is simply a question of where he will end up.

AVB states Luka Modric wont leave Spurs for any other club

    Modric not going anywhere

According to the recent Transfer Rumours And Gossip articles, the Tottenham Hotspur manager AVB has stated that Luka Modric will NOT be going anywhere this summer, as Real Madrid back away from the deal.

The Luka Modric transfer story has rumbled on for more than 12 monthes now, with rumours that the player has been angry ever since he was stopped the chance to move to Chelsea last year.  Harry Redknapp had a real tough time on his hands last summer, as the pre-season prep were constantly over shadowed by the Luka Modric transfer.  Tottenham Hotspur had the worst start to a campaign for a long time, and it was clear to see that the issues with Modric had been the reason.  That blip at the start of the year, combined with a woeful end, cost Tottenham Hotspur a Champions League finishing spot and perhaps even a possible run at the Premier League title.  AVB has done all he could to avoid such a thing occurring again this summer, but with only 6 days to go until the EPL kicks off, nothing seems 100% solved.  Spurs are still lacking strikers and it will take a time for the Modric story to calm down sufficiently.  Does AVB leave the Croatian on the bench?  Leave him out of the squad completely?  Let him leave in January?

One thing is for sure, AVB has done well so far....but the next month could define his season, and that of Spurs.

Fernando Llorente is ready to making a move to Juventus

Llorente close to a Juventus move

There is a real striker crisis developing at Tottenham Hotspur, and todays Transfer Rumours And Gossip columns are doing little to alter that fact.  Long term Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City target Fernando Llorente is reported to be on the verge of a move from current team Athletic Bilbao to Italian Serie A Champions Juventus.

Juventus have been on the lookout for a striker for the entire summer transfer window and like Tottenham Hotspur, have not managed to find and secure the appropriate signings as yet.  Juventus have made an offer of £14 million for Fernando Llorente already, which Athletic Bilbao rejected.  However, Llorente has since told his current club that he does not wish to extend his current contract beyond next summer, which has added huge amounts of fuel to the transfer fire surrounding him.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas Boas has a genuine concern surrounding his attacking options at White Hart Lane, with just 5 days to go until the Premier League opening fixture against a solid Newcastle United side.  At the current time, Tottenham Hotspur have just one recognised first team striker, namely Jermain Defoe.  Defoe did not feature very often under Harry Redknapp and has not lived up to expectations in any way, during his spells at The Lane.  He is an extremely pacey striker with excellant movement and a genuine finishers instinct.  However, for whatever reason, Defoe has never fulfilled the potential that everyone could see in him.

Could AVB be the correct manager to get Jermain Defoe firing on all cylinders?  Every single Tottenham Hotspur fan must surely be screaming...YES!!!

Arsenal have a huge season ahead.  There have been reports of Robin Van Persie going from The Emirates over the summer, but his biggest suitor is said to have lost interest, following lengthy contract negotiations.  Juventus have now turned their attentions to Luis Suarez of Liverpool.  So maybe RVP will stay?  Arsenal have now signed Malaga playmaker Santi Cazorla, so if Arsene Wenger can keep it all together, maybe Arsenal can move forward this season and live up to the hype!

    (As worn by David Beckham!)

For ages now, the Adidas Predator have been at the front of football boot technology.  The new Adidas Predator LZ moves things to a whole other level though.  The football world is set for a serious rocking, now that these little puppies are available for sale at Football Stop, and with David Beckham wearing his own DB version, Adidas Predator are set to take over completely.

The Adidas Predator LZ DB version is a beautiful combination of electric pink, bright white and black and works so well together.  Adidas have bought back the big thick 3 stripes and have put them on the heel area of each side of the boot.  The new updated grip zones, that made Adidas Predator famous, have had their surface area made bigger and their colours matched to each boot.  How anyone could not fall in love with these football boots is beyond me.

The new Adidas Predator LZ have a new soft, synthetic upper, giving the wearer the benefits of both leather and synthetic materials.  These boots have the famous Predator technology, which give the wearer amazing control and "heat-seeking accuracy".  The biggest bonus with these new Adidas Predator LZ boots is that they are now Micoach chip compliant.  A small compartment within the shell of the boot, located under the inner-sole lining, is where a Micoach chip can be placed and every move the player makes can be recorded.  The new Adidas Predator LZ football boots will alter the landscape of football boots for some time to come.

Manchester United Kit 2013 out now at Football Stop

Buy the New Man Utd 2013 kit

The new Manchester United Kit 2013 is available now at Football Stop and looking stunning!  Manchester United have called their new Manchester United Kit range the Gingham Collection, and has small squares indented into the famous deep red fabric.

This Gingham Collection is based on the industrial revolution that began in the North of England over 134 years back and altered the way the world functioned.  It put England at the forefront of the industrial world and made the rest of the world to follow in the British footsteps.  Manchester was a city on the up, with steel works and mills springing up everywhere, changing the landscape and skyline forever more, providing jobs for the public and pumping money into the area.  Little did Mancunians of that time know how successful the red side of the city would be in the football crazy years to come.

The shirt itself is made of Dri-Fit 100% woven Polyester.  On the inside of the neck are written the words "Forged in industry, Striving for glory".  This could be the football shirt that Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic are wearing as they lift the Premier League trophy for the 2012/2013 season.  You can join them for as little as £49.99.  The youngsters can join in too for as little as £35.99.  Bargain!
