Last night I drank a $15 glass of champagne. (Real champagne, as the waiter called it.) It was delicious. (Of course, I woke up feeling a little bit like hell this morning. This is my life, people.)
My birthday isn't for twelve more days, but since Linda's birthday is today, we did a combined dinner and celebrated her twenty-second and my thirty-first birthday last night. We (and thirteen family members) went to a nicer-than-Olive Garden Italian place in downtown Seattle for dinner and delicious, decadent dessert.
This was the birthday of gift cards for me, which is actually nice because there were only certain things I needed and this way everyone sort of pooled their resources so I could have them. I scored four Nordstrom gift cards so I can get one new pair of Privo shoes. Maybe even two! Also, a Borders card for John Green's new book coming out mid-October, Victoria's Secret card for a much needed new bra, and Gene Juarez salon so I can get a hair cut when I need one later this year without it being a hardship. Other than that, I got a few other items: chocolate, a crystal candy dish, a holiday cookbook, and Victoria Secret perfume. (It smells kind of like fruit punch--and is actually kind of appealing like that).
Dwayne and Lindsey didn't get me gifts yet. They say I have to wait until my actual birthday. Which... will be swell!
