Last night, Dwayne and I were in the midst of another ONE TREE HILL marathon. (For the record, we're finished through season four as of this morning. We watched four seasons in less than a month.) There was a shocking end to an episode and then it was time to switch to disk five. When we did so, the content that came up on the screen was a duplicate of disk one! It was marked as being disk five, but it totally wasn't!!!!
It couldn't have happened at a worse time. But it was almost 11pm, and I was okay with just heading to bed to sort it all out in the morning. Dwayne was having none of that, though. He had to know what happened. So, we made phone calls to the 24-hour Walmarts in our area until we found one that had OTH season four in stock. Then we headed out of town for a twenty-minute drive to exchange our DVD set. Once the exchange was made at the store, we convinced the employees to let us use on of their players to confirm the disks were exactly what they were supposed to be. Everything was a-okay this time, so we went home to watch more episodes. And then we stayed up until 2:30am.
The whole thing was crazy and ridiculous and--as we kept reminding each other--a little bit sick. But, I don't know. There's something about summer. And something about running out of the house together at 11pm to do something silly like pick up some more of our teen drama crack that makes me... happy.
