On Friday, I saw a message on the mini-TV thingy in the elevator that it was National Donut Day and Krispy Kreme was giving away a free donut to everyone! After work, Dwayne and I were on a hunt for video stores to rent THE PARENT TRAP (both the Hayley Mills and the Lindsay Lohan versions, the latter of which I had not yet seen). We ended up near enough to KKD, so we stopped in to purchase a few and to receive our NDD freebie.
Er, yeah. They were not giving out free donuts; only tiny samples! We bought donuts anyway. But, seriously, what a SCAM. Or more likely, what a classic example of how out of touch we are in this far off corner of The States. Our KKDs don't even celebrate NATIONAL FUCKING DONUT DAY!
