As you may recall, I've written a series of post on one mustard-colored, early-70s model Chevy Nova. The Nova parks at the same Park & Ride where I park on Mondays and every other Friday. I have hearted and lusted for the Nova since last summer. I've also made an effort to NOT see the driver of the Nova. I didn't want him/her to ruin it for me.
Yesterday, I had to work late at the office. The longer I'm there, the more likely it becomes that I will run into the Nova driver. Ever since the time I almost saw the Nova driver, I've been very careful NOT to look toward that car when I work late. But, a cute boy sat on the bus next to me and got off at my stop. As we walked together toward the P&R, I decided I would be quite all right if he ended up being the Nova's driver. He wasn't. That was fine, too, I supposed.
Then I pulled out of my parking spot, and waited for the signal to change so I could drive to the clinic. That's when I made the mistake of glancing in my rearview mirror. My darling mustard-colored, early-70s model Chevy Nova was no longer in its usual spot under the tree. Instead, it was directly behind me! And the driver? A woman with big glasses and fluffy brown hair who appeared to be in her 40s.
Oh, dear.
