Dwayne, Lindsey, Matt P., Ella, and I went to Folklife yesterday. This is a festival dealio that goes on every Memorial Day weekend. To my recollection, most Memorial Day weekends around here are all rainy and cold, so I never go. The one time I did make an appearance several years ago, there weren't a lot of people there.
But yesterday was very sunny and warm. Seattle Center was packed and there was stuff going on all over the place! We had lunch at the Bamboo Garden. Then we saw Jesse's band perform a few songs. Ella loved it and was bouncing around and dancing crazy. Later, Ella and Dwayne played in the fountain. Then there was ice cream, kettle corn, and henna tattoos. Lindsey got a flowery design on her wrist. I got a symbol on my wrist that means "Good Luck." BECAUSE I'm hoping for and wanting good news from an agent soon, of course!
We left Folklife around 5pm. At 6:30pm, there was some argument weirdness going on very near to where we'd been hanging out for part of the afternoon. Then two bystanders were shot! The articles I've read so far have differing stories about how and why this happened, but the gun going off might have been unintential. In any case, there was chaos, someone was arrested, and the two injured people were taken to the hospital.
So, I guess my luck started a little early since we got to miss all that.
