Boys in the girl's room, girls in the men's room... [21 Mar 2005|11:54am]
[ mood | okay ]
[ music | Garbage - Androgyny ]

That grocery store is cursed or something. First it was that really cute guy that got in there by chance ( and that I actually never saw again) and now this... Yesterday I saw an ex-classmate that I used to have a crush on back in 3rd grade, he was very nice and he had this cute habit of calling me by my middle name ^_^, I hadn't seen him in ages. And well, he was walking up the street in front of the store, I looked at him wondering if he'd recognize me, I didn't said a thing, he looked back, made a face like maybe he's seen me before but said nothing... so I quickly just look the other way like he was nobody I know and bam!that's that :{ So maybe he did remember me, but as always I felt to shy to even try to manage a "hi". But that something that's usually happens to me around people haven't seen in a while. I need to get over it...

So basically spent the weekend playing Pokémon with my brother in "crunch" mode. I can't believed mom hasn't actually tell us off for spending all day at the computer. Haha, way too much. But he says that if we don't finish it by this month we never will 'cause he'd have too many homework and study to do starting next week. So yeah, while I feel kinda guilty for doing much nothing else than playing that reason makes it worthy. It can drain you sometimes, though. I had only played this much when my cousin had me finishing Chrono Trigger in one sit so he could see the ending, like 10 hours straight +_+! Crazy...

So two days before leaving to my cousin, I'm gonna spend all Easter over there and I'll be back by Monday. So today and tomorrow should be busy around here I really would like to get as much stuff done in the house as I can before leaving. I'm not that much into leaving home on Easter since my brother always uses this time to work around the house and I feel bad for not helping him, but mmm, then I see how he always gets more work done when I'm gone, so maybe he works better by himself...

Oh well, so a little time ago our processor's fan started failing, got stuck sometimes and stuff, but it never wasn't much problem until yesterday when the compu froze up, and we hadn't noticed the thing had stopped turning since who knows how much time and the thing was about to burn up. It was quite a scare. Bro looked into the thing and it had a bunch of broken pieces inside the magnet, who knows what broke but it seems that it still works, now that it's been cleaned up. Its' still got to be replaced since it vibrates so much. This computer has gave us so much work, at least we still have a sense of humor about it. We're still sane ^_^

Then, I'd like to see The Cement Garden, after years or having Madonna's album Music, I finally looked up for information on that movie, an except of it is used at the beginning of "What It Feels Like For A Girl", I always wondered what it was about. Surprisingly, it turned out to be the kind of Mover Caller-like movie mom uses to look at me funny when I watch them...

And this was interesting to read: "Making Love With Yourself" ( ... for the truly open-minded male).

When I talked about it, carried on, reasons only knew... [19 Mar 2005|01:56am]
[ mood | okay ]
[ music | Foo Fighters - Big Me ]

...big me to talk about it.

... like you can't never be so sure about things. Who would have known that yesterday's rather unpleasant events would've end up in such a nice day today? Thanks to that call from my uncle from Alajuela that my mom got so mad at me that I passed it to her, we paid an unexpected visit to them. He needed somebody to go with my aunt to the hospital while he accompanied my cousin to his dental appointment. It was my cousin b-day too, and since mom and I had planned to give him something until next week, the whole thing caught us by surprise and mom improvised a present, a really nice mug he liked a lot. The spontaneity of the moment and many things not happening as expect made for a really fresh day that in other circumstances could've a gone as a rather routinely favor-making affair. Prove enough that sometimes it's better not to plan a lot, and let things go with the flow, you might actually enjoy it more!

Happy Birthday, Luis! We watched some anime ( not surprising! ^_^), good this time, a rather light-hearted comedy with no high pretensions, very shorts chapters, though. Too bad I can't remember its name! And he finally achieved his dream of owning two GameBoy Advance. 'I've never played so much Metroid in my life, I actually learned to like it. Makes me want to finally start playing the SNES one some day...

And about yesterday not being that nice, I could say that what really made me feel bad was mom getting mad at me, I don't like to argue with her let alone get to the point where we won't talk, so it was a real downer.

Thing is that when we returned from taking Beba to the veterinary and mom was unlocking the door, the lock got the stuck, she turned the key to the wrong side when she tried to open it and closed the lock more that we usually use it and so forcing it. The key didn't turn anymore and we ended up outside, with Bebe and rain. It wasn't until mom gave up trying on the lock that she decided to ask one guy who was painting a house nearby to lend us his ladder so I could go up the roof and get inside through the backyard. So I did that, not as fun as it sounds, and after much trying the door finally opened.

By that moment mom had gone under too much stress after spending all that time outside and by the time my uncle called she wasn't in the best mood. She didn't told me to not pass her calls, so I did when my uncle asked for her, she wasn't feeling like talking as opposite from him who's always talkative so by the time the call when past half-hour I could tell she was ready to punch me. When she was done, she decided to yell at me and ta-dah. I didn't argue her and just went to sleep. We both got through it by the evening, but you know being upset like that makes hours seems like days :(

Some things to notice: Bebe's vet appointment went okay, it didn't rain in the morning and she's okay. The bad thing was that he was vague when we asked him about Perro, but said that so far it's okay to be left like he's so far since he reacted so well to the antibiotics/ While being outside, it was funny to see people passing by and looking at us like we were trying to brake into our own house. But also makes you think that they'd probably ignore real robbers the same way, now that's sad :(

This hurt:
Dad: So... Are you going somewhere this Easter?
Me: Yes...
Dad: *shrugs* Oh, okay...

Mom gave me an answer for this on the way back, but I wonder what would've he said if I had asked why? Mmm... probably nothing 'cause chances are I would've got a "nevermind" in return...

**stares at it** Spell checker has decided that it'll never like "&" Says it's too cool for such a symbol. Shyeah!

So it finally rained today, it got all cloudy towards the end of the afternoon while still some rays of awesome low-orange sunlight broke through the horizon, sending a really cool yellowish-aura over the ambient. Cooool. But made the cloud look so menacing too.

I just hope it doesn't rain in the morning because we have to bath Beba for her veterinary appointment, which is at 1. I'm also kind of worried because we're gonna ask him about what has he researched on Perro's condition. You're always uncertain about risking on surgery, but if it means that he's gonna be better and that it'll save him from suffering a bad disease then I think that's the better way. I hope everything's okay.

Aw, mom broke my favorite chopping table, the Alaska one that my stepsister had gave us for Xmas once :( It has made cooking a bit dull...

Fox, WFT? Why are you repeating Arrested Development episodes, don't tell me you're gonna mess up with the season's episodes exactly like Warner is doing with Jack&Bobby, I'm not watching that show anymore because you don't even know to which part of the current season an episode belongs to. Awful!

And yay! New Order's new single was aired on MTV today, the video is no the biggest deal, but the song is beautiful and harmonious, everything you would expect from them and more, mmm, made me feel so good. The thing about New order is that it always makes you wonder what it'd be of all of them if Ian Curtis was still alive, probably the sound would've evolved into what they're now but mmm, you'll never know.

Ach! Proof reading today's post just reminded me why I shouldn't rely so much on spell checkers. Me sucks :(

But there's seems to be a problem with my Semagic, the usually reliable spell checker won't continue checking if it encounters a "&". I uninstalled and reinstalled everything, and still the same thing, and it hasn't happened to me before. Crap! I hate when programs go crazy all of the sudden for no apparent reason. And this happens all the time. Freaking computers!

I get no kick from champagne
Their alcohol doesn't thrill me at all
So tell me why shouldn't it be true
I get a kick out of brew

*gulps* Hopefully that Goblet Of Fire poster is not a reflection of Mike Newell's work on the film: No imagination at all! But there's something interesting, according to the credits on the bottom Chris Columbus is not executive producing the film, I didn't know that, I had heard of a feud he had with Warner, where he would leave the project if he was to be left out creatively from the film. I though that was BS, but it seems that it turned out to be true. Mmmm. Once again, In Newell We Trust... I guess... Maybe... Oh well, dunno. I just hope thing doesn't become a Spiderman.

24, I love you but apart from the greatly improved casting choice and acting, whom work is way beyond the sometimes silly writing, there's really not that much to look after. It's just starting but oh, I mean, it's been three episodes, by this time season 1&2 had had you completely hooked to it.

Then... Down With Love... Talk about a film with the worst start ever but that gets excellent halfway until the pretty end. One of those films you wouldn't be mad of getting late to.

Sony's president says he like to get things out of the ghetto, but if it's to see things go this way, then video games should've stayed comfortably down there )

Happy Daft Punk day everybody! But where the Michel Gondry is the single and video?!

I keep the wolf from the door, but he calls me up. Calls me on the phone. Tells me all the ways that he's gon' mess me up. Steal all my children and if I don't pay the ransom. I'll never see them again if I squeal to the cops. So I just go...

Yesterday was such a heavy day, and I still feel a bit out of it in consequence and the hot weather doesn't help, neither do the ultra-noisy neighbors ( and that's such a delicate subject '_'...). Paying bills has that effect on me, and I think we're startin to get drawn by them, getting a job wouldn't be so bad right now, though it's starting to feel like an impossible task, I'm feeling now that I'll probably be able to go to college first before I find a job again. It's become that bad. We're surviving on budget right now, but on a positive side, it's a budget that's been working out, we've just had to stick to the basic. And you know, you grow to think that's okay, and it is, definitely better than nothing at all. The only thing I truly resent is movies money... ***It hurts us, preciousss, it hurts us...***

And we stumbled into one of mom's long-lost co-workers at the bank, quite the lady, like a total hipster 60-something, not old-fashion at all and that you sense has lived more than you and who's cooler than the average person no matter what age. Kinda like the person you'd like to get old like. Like Clint Eastwood for me ^_^ The cool conversation ended up with her inviting us to a special no-obligations-at-all bible study session for today, that sadly we won't be able to attend because mom has to go to her exercise class tomorrow and has to go to sleep early. Sad not because of the Bible thing ( and though is the Apocalypse they'll be talking about, it's not really a thing both of us would consider to do) but rather because of her, it's just great when someone selflessly and nicely invite to try something you normally wouldn't. It depends on the situation of course, but it should be looked like a nice opportunity to try new things.

Speaking of long lost, a friend of mine who I haven't been in contact for years emailed me, it's appreciated after all this time. Can be uncomfortable to try but you can save friendships that once went down the drain...

And Perro is doing way much better, by the way!

I sat down tonight to watch Furi Kuri again, maybe out of good-anime desperation, or just to watch something amazing!!! Well, there was Goodbye, Lenin! on HBO tonight, but mom has to wake up early on Mondays so I really couldn't have watched it anyway. But good old FLCL, still has that KareKano uncompleted-feel into it that just left you wanting more, and that's good sometimes, even if it can leave you feeling a bit anxious too. Side effects, eh? ¨_¨ I love Naota, ^_^

LOL, Gainax really know their fans, so they like to give them a taste of their own medicine now and then, with just as fucked up results: You know you thought about this stuff at least once! ;) For EVA fans only!

Update on this week's bank rob )

Needless to say, if it was for me I wouldn't be watching all these news, but I've been exposed to it 'cause moms demands the news, and with only one tv around the house :( It's been a very tiring week, a crappy display of journalism if you ask me. Aw, what's wrong with universities in my country now. I remember when 90% of the news people in this country were truly worth their title.

Nothing... really )

On amusing things, guess what's not working? The processors fan! *facepalm* We shouldn't even have a computer, they don't like us! Now we have installed Intel's Active Monitor, which is pain, popping up and freezing any application every time it thinks the computer is boiling, which most of the time ain't true. So not even that damned program works :( LOL, it's so bad it's funny. But apart of that the compu is working, it's just that you have to turn it off whenever the humming stops. Let the mother burn!!!

Ah! Daft Punk's new single and album is out in two days! Yupi! Finally some music to make you smile and get into a good mood! Why it took them so long? Releasing the single that is, I haven't hear of it. Why waiting until the album's release? Now with first singles usually on the radio like ages before the albums hit store. But well, if it's worth the wait. I'm not complaining at all! DAFT PUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the wake of Mel Gibson cash-cowing Eastern re-release of the Passion Of The Christ I must say one thing: I've been incredibly disappointed at Hollywood for not even taking the chance of making a film about the Book of Revelation, sure I'd rather not ever see it made if it ends up being a piece of crap, and there's always the End Of Evangelion to see the greatest divine event ever put on film but it's time to stop over-dong the crucifixion.

Speaking of anime, I've been wanting and truly been in the need of watching some truly good anime. My cousin showed to me some Full Metal Alchemist and Naruto season two, but while good on their own, none of them were nothing more than a bland attempts to re-do past stuff. I'm not picky, I just would like to see something more fresh. maybe my cousin will lend me some Fruit Basket episodes, it kick ass, and I haven't finished it.

On the other hand, the last two episodes of Six Feet Under have proven why it's still the best tv drama on earth. Really, harsh, but incredibly moving.

See the danger - always danger... [10 Mar 2005|04:16am]
[ mood | blah ]
[ music | Joy Division - Atmosphere ]

If you had lived in Costa Rica in the last couple of days, probably most of your attention and daily talk with your relatives and friend would've been about the hostage situation there was in a bank in the tourist town of Monteverde. What was supposed to be a "normal" bank robbing turned completely wrong when one of the private security guards of the bank shot two of the robbers at the bank entrance. Both died on the act, but they were a part of a six-men group, of which two escaped from the place ( but didn't got too far since they were wounded), and the two left decided to keep on the operation. The shooting sat the alarm everywhere of course, so when the guys knew what they were into now they took over the place.

And so started the media frenzy and you didn't heard from anything else since this past Tuesday's night to yesterday's afternoon when everything was over. And by watching these people reaction and how mostly unprofessionally most of the coverage was made, one can only expect one thing for the next couple of days. Total criticism for the government, not only from national tv but from outside, too, which it's already happening from Mexican journalist, whom is no secret now, have a thing against our current president. They are already attacking our government for lack of preparation at handling hostage situations, and as expected, bringing back the situation at the Embassy of Chile from last year.

Sure, I'm not saying that the gov people are saints and have done their job concerning national security, violence has obviously increased in the country, it's true that you no longer feel safe, not even in your own home, economy is hanging on a string, which is making people poorer and you know what that brings. So where all the critics should go is to prevention, not action, where all journalist ( most of them from television, of course. Written media is far more objective) think the real problem was. Which is totally unfair since our national guard and the red cross are always working with their nails to put an end to these situation in the best way possible. Sadly, there were deaths, around 6 hostages, but most of them couldn't have been stopped since they happened at the time the robbers broke in. Another fact that the international media, especially, doesn't want to see. At the end of everything they were able to make one if the kidnappers surrender, and so avoiding more death. One cop resulted dead on the operation.

The worst part of all this is to think that if that guard wouldn't had shot the two assaulters first, probably all they would've done was taking the money and leave, and nobody would be crying 9 loved ones right now. The guard wasn't trained by the government. But for a press always eager to find the easiest target to blame, the government, right now, who did the best they cold in this situation, is going to get it. And for all the wrong reasons.

The HBP Covers: Or How I Stopped Worrying And Love Deluxe Editions. [08 Mar 2005|01:30pm]
Just saw, just like trillions of people around the globe, the Half-Blood Prince covers, along with the press release that describes everything the deluxe edition will come with and it sounds so damned good, I'm actually glad I didn't made the mistake I did with OOTP when I pre-ordered to later find out that I could've afforded the special edition, even if it didn't have that much extras, but it's one is loaded! I'm really , really gonna try to get the money for it, there's still 4 months to do so!

And well, about the covers themselves, I've never been a fan of the U.K. edition and those ones still don't covert me, as for the U.S. version, I'm a big fan of Mary GrandPre's use of color, and this one doesn't disappoint, coolest green ever, but it's just too plain for me. The wow! factor of the OOTP cover is truly missed. But well, I guess that if anything these cover just tarnished many people's expectations of what the plot might be like. Too much Dumbledore, he could die! *_* And none of them even give the tiniest clue about what the whole Prince thing is about. I have high hopes on whatever that might be, maybe a new companion for Harry? All right, punch me! :D!

Speaking of Potter, I've already decided I'm not gonna make the mistake of reading Goblet of Fire prior watching the film. I did that for Prisoner last year and there's something about going to see the movie being too conscious on book details that didn't allowed me too enjoy it as I though I would, and mostly watched the thing as a book adaptation rather than a movie. I still loved the film but that thing bugged me and that's what I don't want to happen with Goblet. Sure I remember the main plot and happenings, but there's a lot of minor parts and details I don't recall by now, and I wanna keep it this way, so I won't be thinking "oh, they cut this, they added that" on the theater. I'll find that out later when I read the book again, that's way more enjoyable, at worked for me in the first two films, I hadn't read any of the books by then, and reading the books afterwards was the coolest experience since they complemented what flicks missed. Far better than the opposite!

By the way: Coolest interview ever, Mike Leigh and Lynne Ramsay interview each other!. She explains why she dropped out of the now Peter Jackson-taken The Lovely Bones project. It's still sad, she's awesome. And she spent two years on it! Ouch! :(

I dreamed I could fly, following you over the trees... [08 Mar 2005|04:37am]
[ mood | sleepy ]
[ music | Roxette - Wish I Could Fly ]

So, yay, back at home again! And everything's thankfully just as usual, except for my brother's dislocated shoulder... it happened when he slept! It's nothing serious and he's visiting the uni's doc tomorrow, so hopefully that'll be fixed by tomorrow. But it sure looks kinda scary...

My uncle's birthday was okay. I know he surely appreciates our visit and the small celebration, but this is the second year in a row that I see him all kinda down and resented on his birthday. He was like that on Sunday and the fact that my cousin got badly sick today because of the food just made him feel worse, I think my cousin himself took it better than my uncle, but well, that overshadowed everything :( It really was a shame. His mood improved when mom got there though, he even opened the presents, heh. But all in all, I guess it's an age thing to feel bad towards b-days and holidays, but still I don't like to see on somebody I appreciate, he might have stuff to regret about but you can't keep doing that year after year... That's why I loved it when I saw him talking to my mother more lightly when we were about to leave, it's a nice view, they actually looked like brother and sister...

I called my cousin before he went to sleep and he still felt a bit bad, he was awful in the morning so comparatively he's wonderful now, but I hope he fully recovers soon. He made me a copy of Mafia yesterday, but who knows when I'm gonna install it. My brother would kill me if he saw I used more than 1 giga on a game, with the current space of the hard drives *sigh*

24 new season began tonight, and it's threatening to be quite a disappointing season judged by the first two episodes. I have high hopes on this series and it's never let me down before, so I'm still keeping an open-mind, but the season starting plot choices are poor, the worst one: How can you feel sympathetic towards a Secretary of Defense these days, especially a right-wing "I'm so tough" U.S. Secretary of Defense? The landslide of clichéd new characters was the deepest cut. Even if the series is still well-made, it even looks better than ever this time and even the acting improved ( though, it's still a mystery why they never find Sutherland-caliber actors for the other characters.). But this plot really must get better...

Oh, I've been forgetting all this time, the Oscars! Loved and hated them! The Academy has become a ratings-whore since some time ago, but they really touched bottom when they got rid of the original performers of most of the nominated songs! Every time there was a song it just made me want to change the channel. Many people jumped and whined at this as something the Academy has never done before, but I think this just evidences their total discrimination towards the performers whom work on the songs has always been ignored. For them these songs can be sang by anybody. That why I hope that Jorge Drexler face-slapping winning speech made the Academy aware of their stupid mistake. But that apart, Chris Rock got bad rap all over, but his hosting was pretty refreshing for this kind of ceremony, first really fun jokes in this thing in awhile. Loved how well distributed the awards were handed out, well-deserved two wins for The Incredibles, but most rewarding of all: The whole thing didn't jumped into the Scorsese butt-kissing bandwagon, and that the real best film won the main awards. I admire Clint Eastwood so much right now, at his age he's making the best film of his career, making absolute masterpieces that will live forever, and he still considers himself young. I love that man!

I don't like to go out by myself on Sundays. Mom didn't want to go nor Allan :P So I decided to spent the night over there. Mom will be there tomorrow, so at least that's something :)

I'm coming out of my cage, and I've been doing just fine... [06 Mar 2005|02:48am]

[ music | The Killers - Mr. Brightside ]

Hallo, everybody! First of all, for the people here at Blurty, I'm sorry for disappearing for a week without saying a thing, but Blurty was dead by the time I was gonna post explaining that I was going to my cousin's house and that the computer probably wasn't going to work for awhile. That was about a week ago, and I only had time to post it in LJ. I'm sorry!

So well, last weekend I was supposed to go to my cousin's to have our computer powersource checked 'cause the thing was turning-off when you connected two drives to it, and at the same time I'd bring home some programs and other stuff he'd found for us so we could finally install the Pentium 3 processor that we've been just watching since December. Now, as I was told by my brother back then, installing the whole thing wasn't supposed to last longer than the weekend, but as you can see now, it actually became the most painfully long process we've ever gone through with a computer.

I love my cousin, and I'm most grateful for everything he's helped us with, especially regarding the computer, he's like the best cousin ever... heck! He even bought us a new power source when the guy at the shop told him he wasn't gonna fix the damned thing! But before putting us through all this thing, he promised my brother that all that software that he got for us was going to work, my brother could've find these problems by himself, even if it would've taken longer for him, but my cousin insisted. And after I was back at home by Saturday and my brother started working, it turned out that half the programs didn't work, incompatibilities and other nightmares, and we've just wiped out all the Windows, and all mayhem started.

At the end, we ended up downloading everything that was damaged, numerous bugs and viruses got into the computer, and it wasn't until today that we were finally done fixing everything. It's been a pretty tiring week, and while everything is a-okay with the computer now --new keyboard and modem, thing is faster than ever-- I have to say that right now, I feel a bit sick of it. My brother didn't took the whole thing so well, so he's a bitter at my cousin right now... Add to that gallizions of stress. that's never ever good :(

But it's nice to be around here again. I've fallen behind on everything! Lots to catch up with, and I've missed you tons!!! I hope you've doing good, and I'm really sorry for not being around in the last few days. Now I hope this won't give us any more problems...

Thank god for this song, at this moment... mmm, I didn't like Somebody Told Me but that Mr. Brightside song is great, would be even better if it didn't sound so close to Placebo's Special K... Thankfully the video is good too, courtesy of always stylish Sophie Muller, who makes frontman Mr. Brandon Flowers look particularly handsome...

And everybody go rent Tadpole. That was the nicest movie, I loved it. It's simple but that didn't make it any less enjoyable. It was like Outkast's song Pink&Blue put on film ^_^... And more rewarding tv: Best Six Feet Under episode ever tonight, but the hardest to watch, it reminded me of Boys Don't Cry, that's all :(

Taken from jairigami:

Which Family Guy character are you?

Mmmm, I should be sleeping right now, but I'm having problems with it again... Aw, yesterday I went to bed feeling so happy about myself that I couldn't get sleepy either. But today I only wished I could do what Leo DiCaprio's character in Catch Me did when he realized things at home weren't working anymore... so today's insomnia is for totally different reasons :( Maybe tomorrow will be better, but then it's just tomorrow and Wednesday, and I'll be going to Alajuela. Maybe I'll be able to sleep at normal hours these two nights I'll spent over there...

Watched Catch Me If You Can, for the second time in two years! Still the incredible masterpiece that it always was, it's actually aged quite well... I've always been in love with DiCaprio in that film, he's never looked so gorgeous in any other movie...

This something that should've been posted ages ago! )

One face among the many, I never thought you cared... [20 Feb 2005|01:32pm]

[ music | Scissor Sisters - Laura ]

You always learn something new about your once-supposed-dead fandoms... either that or you've been a pretty bad fan in the last couple of years. Anyway, yesterday I found out that CLAMP have been working on a new manga/anime featuring some, if maybe all, the characters from my beloved Cardcaptor Sakura, in an alternative universe. In typical CLAMP fashion, there're characters from previous series of their own that are likely to appear, cool!... The anime is just about to be released, but they've been writing the manga since quite a long time, and I realized 'til now :P Well, it's called Tsubasa : RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, looks good, and so far I just have my reservations about the anime, 'cause it's directed by the guy behind .hack (... that I really didn't like that much), but hopefully it's gonna conserve some of the most lovely aspects of CCS...

And thanks to MTV for delivering an early b-day present ^_^ The dance music special of this weekend; it was hour after hour of the best programming they've had in years!!! See, the network arguably has the best videography of the world at their hands, and when they actually use it, they're the best channel in the world. It's a shame that they no longer are the way they were before, and while the week programming will never change from the usual crap, at least they should continue to use the weekends for airing good music specials...

Watched Phone Boot yesterday, which all the people who think Colin Farrell can't act should see, since it'll prove them wrong :). I can't speak for the ones who've only seen him on Alexander, but he's EXCELLENT on this one... It's a good movie, by the way... But he carries all the strength of it on his shoulders, and the film works because of him...

Then is it me or Six Feet Under is falling under silly self-censorship... It's pretty notable, especially on the little details. It's used to be bolder... Well, at least the plot is starting to take off...

My cousin called, and I'm going to stay over there from Thursday to Saturday next week, apart from the usual anime-watching ( Naruto's second season!!!!), we're going to take our computer power-source to check, 'cause the thing dies if you connect more than one cd unit to it, and I'll also bring a ton of stuff my brother needs to wipe out the hard-drive now that it seems he's finally gonna install the PIII, which means I won't be able to be online for awhile, but I truly hope that the computer will finally work like it's supposed to after that....

There's something about updating in the afternoon hours that I really don't like... But one's got to do it when you get the chance, if not you'll find yourself that you haven't updated in a week, and that's happened to me before, well... Other thing is that I must be dead or something, Irately I've been going to sleep around 1:00 a.m., and that really not that late, and I end up waking up at noon! Freakin' noon! That's not good, I remember I could go to sleep at two-3-ish before that I'd be awake by 9-10 the next day, not noon, and it's been happening a lot... Maybe it's been because I haven't drink Pepsi in a long time, at least not in the same quantity as usual. Damn caffeine!

Whatever, I got my hair-cut yesterday, got sick in the process, but I was able to watch a movie anyway! One of the many I've been missing in Cinemax since Six Feet Under started and schedules clashed. It was L'Idole, this very rare French-Austrailian production with Leelee Sobieski that probably no-one saw by the time of it's release, and that it's the perfect film you can watch in a cold night, very dreamy, low-key and 'bout the encounter of two pretty lonely people in pretty a unlikely situation due to the culture mixture that surrounds them, which at the end takes second place to their emotions. Along the way showing that neighbors can be the mu'fucking plague. Sure, one I live without the inappropriate ending, that could've been handled better, but sure it's a good film of it's type! Other film I have to get up to date: Tadpole! Aaron Stanford/Sigourney Weaver, da bomb!

This is starting to get annoying... )

Mmmm, for such a beautiful melody, this song is really dark. Heard it first in The Simpsons, and lately, I've been on a really old-school rush trying to find all those kick-ass songs they use in some episodes... and all these time watching it I've never paid much attention to the music until now, and oh my, some of them are just immortal classics!

Last but not least, I woke up to find that my dad was in talkative, one of those rare times in which he sits down at the table to have breakfast, watch some tv and talk about what he's planning or been up to lately. Some news came up... some I hope become reality and other that just left me thinking what the fuck it'd happen. But most of all, looking at this rather pleasant moment while watching a Fidel Castro documentary on The National Geographic, just made me realize how different it'd be if everybody in this house would swallow their pride here and then... And how non-communist my family is ( in a bad way...)

Okay, I've been listening to a little bit of Madvillain's album Madvillainy, and well, I'm sold, Freakin' coolest rap album in a while... It's just a showcase of truly creative, artful sampling... The Black Album and College Dropout will have to wait now, come to think about it both of them are a little burned up by now...

Still waiting for the call... Cleaned up the bathroom, which is growing up to be quite an exercise in frustration, 'cause I seem to be only one in the house who appreciate the work, and try to maintain it clean for at least a week?

Watched About A Boy for the thousandth time. It makes me feel great every time I see it, but it also reminds me of some of my worst days, and then of the actual state of my life... Though, it's optimistic view on life always leaves me all, "yeah! it'll be all right, if I want it to!" And that's something that it's pretty easy to forget, seems silly, but it's truth!

Gah... For most that I've been trying to keep away from anything my neigh borsdo, sometimes it's just impossible to avoid getting involved, it's just reaches you, because it'll affect you sooner or later because you live in a "community"... If at least these stuff they try to get you in didn't involve argues with other neighbors, then it'd be fine. Fuckin' people and their animosity and fight-inducing behavior. You're only good for them when they need something or when it comes to turn you against somebody they decide they don't like anymore, Fuck them, and thankfully mom agrees too, and she'll not let them get us against nobody.... especially for gossip-founded stuff that has nothing to do with us in the first place!

2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now: Rosie
3. The character everyone else loves that you don't:
4. The character you love that everyone else hates: I've never of people hating any LotR character in particular, but Sauron kinda kicked ass and he was hated all over! LOL!

Evangelion:

1. The first character you first fell in love with: Shinji
2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now: Touji
3. The character everyone else loves that you don't: Asuka, popular between guys, I never got the attraction ;)
4. The character you love that everyone else hates: Gendou, easy to hate, but he did repent of his acts in the end...

24:

1. The first character you first fell in love with: Nina Myers
2. The character you never expected to love as much as you do now: David Palmer!
3. The character everyone else loves that you don't: Kim, for such a poor character she gets too much scenes...
4. The character you love that everyone else hates: Ryan Chapelle
5. The character you used to love but don't any longer: Sherry, for such a bitch she was one of the greatest written characters, but she's of no use dead, you know?

Little boy blue... [15 Feb 2005|02:08pm]

[ music | Ugly Kid Joe - Cats in the Cradle ]

Happy belated Valentine's... I hope you had a very nice day yesterday, whatever you celebrate or not, in the company of the special somebody, friends or platonic/imaginary loves...

Me, well, just spent it like any other day, and since it's a 14 it meant that I had to go out with mom and pay all the monthly bills. Later we went to the supermarket, the same one I applied for a job to earlier in the morning, My uncle saw the ad on Sunday's newspaper and I decided to give it a try again, I applied last year too, but I never heard back from them, so who knows if something's gonna come out of it this time... But the bright news were that my brother received a call from the place he was referred to, it seems like a pretty nice job that adjusts to his uni schedule, and it'd be just fair if he gets it. Go Allan!

But anyway, Valentine's has never meant that much to me. I've never had somebody to share it with, well, only with friends, 'cause friendship is celebrated too!, which was usually fun in it's days, 'cause all the "Happy Valentine's Day!" wishing would sometimes end up showing that somebody's feelings towards other went beyond friendship, and it just was simple embarrassing fun, that usually led nowhere! But since I'm not in high-school and I have no friends to hang out anymore, all that's been long lost... but well, that doesn't mean that you can't have fun, just like this article I was reading yesterday said: "Why not enjoy the festivities by treating yourself to some special attention? Sure, everyone else may be going out to a fancy restaurant or shack-ing up, but there is no reason that you cannot enjoy this special day alone"...

May I introduce my handsome imaginary date from yesterday ^_^ Finally found some Golden Globe's pics, freaking gorgeous!

And that's Melissa Etheridge and Joss Stone at the Grammys, they rocked, had the strongest voices of the whole show and was the only thing that truly got me up the couch in excitement... It was particularly good how sincere most the winners were: Adam Levine, who knew just like everyone else in the room whom that award must've gone to; John Mayer, because he's humble like that and of course Loretta Lynn and Jack White for getting what they so rightfully deserved! Other than that, there really wasn't that much to complaint about or praise, well except for the Anthony/Jennifer thing, which I think got more hype than the all-star tsunami relief song, and it just ended up being the worst soap-opera ever set-up on tv... Things like that just leave the whole "pinnacle of music" description of the show from the Grammy's prez looking pure bull...

Let's get it started... [13 Feb 2005|07:03pm]
[ mood | rushed ]
[ music | GRAMMYS ]

The rules:

- If you want to participate, leave a comment saying "Interview me" (or something that gets that point across)
- I will respond by asking you five questions - each person's will be different...
- You will update your journal with the answers to my questions.
- You will include this explanation and an offer to interview others in the same post.
- When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions!
- If you want to ask me five questions, leave them in the comments.

My interview from lilmisstwirly:

1) pickles with peanut butter or jelly? Peanut butter, extra-chunky that is!
2) If you could choose to live forever would you? why or why not? It'd depend, I mean, why live forever if you're gonna be alone, so I'd only go for it if i could get other people to live forever too.
3) summer or spring? :) We only have two seasons in this part of the world, summer or winter, so I'll go for summer! But my favorite season is winter!
4) what cartoon character can you relate to the most and why? Of the cartoons I'm watching right now, it'd be Mac from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, he can be a bit shy aroud people whe he's all by himself, but he's always able to be himself when he's in company of his loved ones. Friends get the best of him!
5) what are 10 things you couldn't live without doing (besides breathing, eating, sleeping, etc.)? Okay, besides the essential and in no especific order: Listening to music; watching movies; photography; internet; drinking ( not-alcoholic ^_^); reading; wearing sandals when in home; photoshop-ing; having a nice conversation and maybe video games.

and the thought of rubbin' you is getting so exciting.

:) Oh my, thanks to this week's pretty excellent Arrested Development episode, I'll never be able to hear that song again without giggling... heehee...

Things got better today, what a relief! Only thing is that mom caught dad talking to the other one in the morning, which well, just explains where the money he didn't give us last week went... Ugh, and to think he never helps paying the phone and he's using it to call her, and he asked her about lunch, when that money that went to her is our food money...

So what's up tonight: Geniuses love company, so they gather up in a orgy they like to call Grammy... **flutters "Go Kanye" flag**
