Two Days [13 Apr 2004|11:20pm] [ mood | curious ] Monday was kind of a sad day...i went to a funeral for a lady who played i played mah jongg with at the YMCA...really sweet old lady, she had a sudden heart attack and died. I suppose thats better than suffering, but it was still sad...lovely service though. The rest of the day was depressing because it was rainy and COLD! anywho, as for today, i had biology at adam's, it went alright, we had to dissect a sheep's brain which was ok, not fun, but not revolting either. After there I dropped some stuff at the barn and then came home, it was still raining and nasty outside so kind of a depressing day. Though luckily it cleared up about 5 or so this afternoon and the sun came out, which made me happy =). Went out and played with odie for a good hour and did my chores....which a put an end to my spectacular evening, lol :D

going back monday [06 Apr 2004|12:06am] [ mood | energetic ] [ music | "Bubbly Toes"-Jack Johnson ] Mondays suck :( haven't really done much today, did my ever fun advanced bio homework :p actually it was an interesting chapter (was on the brain) it was better than the previous chapter which was on the nervous system. Tomorrow's class isnt going to be fun though because we are dissecting a sheep's brain :( and a cow's eye :( *yuck*. The only GOOD thing about tomorrow is im *HOPEFULLY* getting my new cell phone, that is, if i can convince my mommy to come with me cause the plan is under her name. I also need to get myself a book of chords for my guitar...if i can ever get it tuned! :p

saturday/sunday [04 Apr 2004|06:06pm] [ mood | apathetic ] Today has sucked, woke up about 1 and have successfully done nothing productive :p I was really tired from yesterday which is why I slept so much but now I'm overtired..or something. I never understood how u can sleep for so long and wake up and be tired....anywho, yesterday was fun, went to the barn about 8, Tabitha came shortly after so we fed all the horses together and did water. Then just kinda waited around for everyone else to show up. Rebecca, Lacey, Bennett, and Tabitha had their lesson inside the barn cause it was raining :p. After that, Tabitha and I went to subway to get us all lunch, came back, ate..then Davis was there but Jerry, Susan, and Maralee were working with him, so we all started on cleaning stalls. Tabitha and I cleaned 3 stalls together and put hay in for the night. After that we just waited in the office till Rebecca and Lacey finished their stalls, then we all tacked up and rode. I rode Beau, didn't really do anything hard cause I was achy from the stalls and riding the day before, but it was still fun. We put the horses up and fed them for the night. Then Kathy took us all out for ice cream at Bruster's which was really nice :) Hung out at the barn for a little longer then finally came home at 7. Didn't do much for the remainder of the night except stay up really later (or early...depends on how u look at it, lol). There's stuff I want to do today..but my motivation is lacking today for some reason...i have nothing important to do, just stuff i could do...maybe i will get motivated later on...lol

Thursday & Friday [02 Apr 2004|09:00pm] [ mood | cold ] [ music | "You're So Last Summer"-Taking Back Sunday ] These past 2 days have been pretty good...it's been raining which has really sucked! :p anyway Thursday I had to go to Oz (aka Cumberland which is about 30 minutes away) to pick up my graduation forms from my friend Elizabeth...the drive over there sucked cause I was stuck behind a school bus for almost the whole drive! :p After that I had math class and then a meeting at the barn for the upcoming show. As for today I had lots of fun, went to the barn about noon and rode Beau, we did vaulting which isn't my favorite :p but it was good for me to build my leg back up. After my ride I hung around for a bit and then came home. Haven't really done much since, just been hanging out at the house relaxing..and freezing! It's April and 50 some degrees outside, brr! I really hope the rain quits soon cause it's starting to bug me :p

Tuesdays Gone [31 Mar 2004|12:50am] Today was pretty good, had biology which is never really fun..got out of disecting a sheep's brain :p yuuuck but next week have to do that AND a cow's eye :p sooo gross. anyway, went to the grocery store afterwards then came home and finished working on the show programs for kathy. Nigel came home shortly after and we watched this show on parasites...very disturbing but very interesting. Didn't do much else tonight, cleaned up the kitchen and i did my math homework--fun :p. I'm not looking forward to the rest of biology cause we have to disect a fetal pig :( hopefully ill get through it cause i have to do it because it IS AP Biology :p all i know is after june 12th im stopping bio, cause im graduating! Some people have to disect cats, so I suppose i should be thankful...but i still don't like it. Everything else is going fine i suppose, there's still no buyer for Beau :( which makes me sad..the other people from our barn fell through with purchases so I dunno who he's going to end up with. On a good note, we have a few potential buyers for misty...a lady, Jan, is going to try her out Friday and see if she likes her. Jan rides western and Misty can go both ways (western or english) so it would be a nice match, and Jan is older and misty cant do a lot..so it would be a good match...and misty would stay at kathys so emily could still ride her english and jump her. If Jan falls through, Emily might try to get her..but i think thats more doubtful, and i think Mary Grace's granddaughter is interested but she's doubtful as well. I'm hoping if we sell her..then I could get Beau..but it might be wishful thinking

today [26 Mar 2004|05:44pm] [ mood | crappy ] I know i havent updated this in ages, I was on vacation in florida..which wasn't really a lot of fun but the story is too long and i dont feel like typing it now :p anywho im home so ill try updating this more frequently. This week hasnt been that exciting, but here's what happened today... my dad can annoy the hell outta me sometimes...i got accepted to Longwood University and to secure my place u have to make an $100 depoisit before May 1st. Well he asked if Kathy had paid me for doing lessons, and i said no...and he was like "why doesn't that surprise me?" and i said "well it doesnt really concern u"..and im sorry but it doesnt really concern him...if i dont get paid thats my loss. Anywho, so I told him to withdraw it from my school account cause i cant do it, since im under 18...but yet he gets pissed off and angry at me. I've given up trying to understand that man. Anyway, today was actually good, went to the barn and helped with the therapeutic riders then i rode with Jan and Mary Grace....that was a lot of fun, i was happy I got to ride Beau, especially since I cant buy him :( makes me really sad...but there's just not much i can do about it unless she drops the price a considerable amount. Lesson went real well, my endurance just isnt what it used to be which sucks...but i'll get it back...eventually.

Sunday Bloody Sunday [07 Mar 2004|11:46pm] [ mood | thirsty ] Yesterday was a really really really long day... Got up at 6:45, got in a slight arguement with my dad which also ensued when I came home too :p but anyway I got to the barn at 8am. Tabitha and Emily were already there so we started feeding the ponies, it was raining and cold so that a fun task to complete :p then we sat in the office and waited for Kathy, since it was raining we did the lessons in the barn. The girls pulled manes and groomed some of the mares while Kathy and I taught Katie and Mary Grace's lesson. I pulled part of Landie's mane whil Rebecca and Lacey tacked up, then Kathy and I taught their lesson, then we taught Tabitha and Emily's lesson. I went and got us lunch and Tabitha, Rachael, Kathy, and I ate in the office. Travis stopped by to ride Landie and we finished grooming the horses. It FINALLY cleared up enough outside to ride, so I rode Albert with the girls, which was fun..we did walk/trot/canter...Kathy was in the barn teaching Katie's lesson so we just kinda messed around. After that, I pulled Albert's mane and we started mucking out stalls, Kathy had to leave to get feed for the horses and I left before she got back...cause it was getting late, I didn't get home till 6:30 and I was exhausted. As for today I did get to sleep in which was nice, we went out to lunch...and I've just been hanging out for the whole day :p nothing exciting

the notion [04 Mar 2004|11:24pm] [ mood | dorky ] [ music | "Last Train Home"-The Lost Prophets ] Today I had a REALLY good good good day :D I got a little chik-fi-la cow stuffed animal in the mail :) and i absolutely love it. It's the cutest thing...it's going to go in my truck next to my other chik-fi-la cow and my stuffed horse Charlie (RIP)...that reminds me...I got really bad news yesterday....2 horses I used to work with, Track & Charlie, were put down. Charlie got colic...what from, I don't know, Kathy went over there and said there was hardly ANY hay in his paddock :( he also had colicked earlier this year and had already had surgery...so I guess he was more susceptable to it. As for Track, when they put Charlie down the barn manager said to the vet "you might want to take a look at Track"...and he did, and turns out Track had fractured his leg a few days ago and apparently he had actually broken it...so then he had to be put down :( I feel so bad for their owners Peggy & Otto...they have 4 horses..and losing 2 in the same night must've been heartwrenching, I know it made me cry just hearing about it cause I loved Charlie and Track..they were both wonderful horses. Now all they have left is Jake and Clipper, which are equally wonderful horses, but it's like a human life..you just can't replace it. Anyway, another subject before I start crying.... I had math tutoring today which went well, as always. I'm starting to get anxious about my college acceptance/rejection letters...I haven't received anything. Radford called Tuesday and asked me some questions...the lady said she was going to call back...but still hasnt :( I thought for all 3 applications I had a lot of letters of recommendation and also good grades...I'm just scared that I will be overlooked because I was homeschooled and it's not "official"...I just really want to hear something soon...I know it's early yet, but I'm still apprehensive about it. It's good I'm back working at the barn...which helps take my mind off of it...cause horses don't ask what your grade was for 9th grade english :p lol thank God. But tomorrow, I get to go riding so I'm really happy about that :D I think my mommy is going to ride with me...I'm really worried about her...cause unlike me, my bones rehealed and I'm ok...but she has that rod in her arm...I'm just scared of her falling off...cause she used to fall off a LOT! I've only fallen off a handful of times...like, hmm, 6 times? maybe more than that but that's all I can remember...in 3 years thats not bad!

week in review [03 Mar 2004|06:28pm] [ mood | crazy ] Well I haven't really updated my journal in awhile, had a full weekend. I rode for the first time in 5 months on Friday :D it was SO great, i missed riding so much. Saturday I had to work, for about 10 hrs,I also got to ride on a 2hr trail ride which was a lot of fun :) we had a few bumps in the trail but not too bad... (we encountered a minature donkey! that tried to come through the fence after us! lol). Sunday didn't really do a lot, i went to the barn again to deliver the newsletter to Kathy, hung out for awhile and came home. Monday i woke up feeling like crap for some reason :p i did school and just kinda hung out all day :p nothing really exciting. Tuesday had bio for THREE hours...luckily we got a break so we werent confined to our chairs for too long. Afterwards I went to the library, then just hung around the house all day. As for today, I went to chik-fi-la for lunch and then with my dad to the Y to play mah jongg, that was fun..i won 3 times :D then we had to go to Goochland to "rescue" my mommy cause she locked herself out of her car, lol. Now I'm home and relaxing till i have to go finish my math homework :p yuck

He is obviously a half-wit. The bird on the other hand has got to be an informant, and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room, his safety is assured. But I can wait! It is only a matter of time...

Munday & Toosday [24 Feb 2004|11:01pm] [ mood | happy ] [ music | "A Lonely September"-Plain White T's ] Yesterday wasn't very eventful day either, i went to the barn cause my mommy's horse Misty was getting shod and we hired a new farrier, so went to meet him and get the diagnosis for Misty, seems like these new shoes will help, which is cool :D I also had physical therapy yesterday, i thought they were going to yank off my leg...they popped my ankle bone which felt SO good afterwards :). As for today, I got up and went to biology, learned lots and lots there, lol. Came home afterwards, then i went back out again to the library to get some tax forms for this thing im doing in math and then to physical therapy, which i found out some REALLY good news there...I've been discharged :D yay! I go back to Dr. Cutter tomorrow and I hope he is pleased with my improvement, I have almost 100% mobility back, now its just strengthing and using those muscles now because I'm not in pain anymore. That really brightened my day despite the fact i had to drive home in the rain :p. After I got home I did a lot of cleaning in the kitchen :p which wasnt fun but it was needed, then ate dinner and watched this movie called Cheats, pretty interesting...then i took a shower and got all squeaky clean :) I really hope the appointment tomorrow goes well, I'm going to ask Dr. Cutter if I can start riding again :)

holy day [22 Feb 2004|11:48pm] [ mood | contemplative ] [ music | "Perfect Family"-Bleach ] Today was actually a pretty boring day, got up at like quarter to 12, was planning on staying home all day cause I hadn't seen my parents for basically 2 days, and they wake me up telling me their leaving to go in town to buy a new tv :p so much for that idea. So I fed odie, and hung around the house for awhile and when my parents got home i went to the video store, they didnt have what i wanted to rent though! but I still rented Underworld and Runaway Jury, also Out of Time for my mommy. Didn't do much the rest of the evening, just my ever fun biology homework...yay! :p

the art of growing old [22 Feb 2004|01:08am] [ mood | drained ] [ music | "Miss You"-Blink 182 ] Today was a REALLY LOOOOOONG day...got up at 7ish so I could be at the barn at 8 for lessons. I fed the horses, with the help of Katie, did the water for the pasture horses. Then helped teach the first lesson of the day, went to help Katie untack...got smacked in the nose by the girth which left a nice bruise on my nose accompanied by a small cut. After that I helped with the next lesson, but the wind was so bad we went indoors and finished up there. I went to get lunch for Kathy and I, then helped the girls a little with the stalls. I taught a therapeutic lesson for Nadilee, real CUTE little girl. Then i "supervised" Rebecca and Elizabeth while they rode...they rode inside, then the cross country field and then the ring, lol. I got the grain ready for the horses at night, then we helped kathy clean out the old trailer so she could store hay in there, then i finally came home an took a nap!

Dream A Little Dream [19 Feb 2004|11:16pm] [ mood | excited ] Today wasn't too eventful, had to dress up and TRY to look pretty for this award presentation..it was kinda boring, but a pretty prestigious award for Nigel so I'm proud of him. After that I went to lunch with my family which was yummyness, then came home...didn't really do anything productive today since I had already finished my school for the week :D. Had dinner with my daddy tonight cause Nigel and mommy werent here, we watched survivor together and I did my ever fun chores :D

Wednesday [18 Feb 2004|11:49pm] [ mood | listless ] Today was a pretty interesting day, got up early and went to physical therapy. I swear I felt like a guniea pig today! First they gave me heat like normal and did my regular stretches. He made me stand up on a table to stretch my ankle...which was really odd,lol...at least im not really tall or I wouldve bumped my head! Then after that I had to get on their little bike thing....so almost fell off of that like 4 times cause my footsies couldnt reach the pedals...hehe then i had to walk on their treadmill backwards...i think they all went loopy today. anyway, after there i went to barnes & noble to kill some time....shopping sucks when ur broke :p then went and got lunch and went to the Y to play mah jongg. We saw nigel's old coach, Coach Coffey..talked to him for a long time, even nigel came by (he was gonna work out) and then i came home, didnt really do much...just got into an argument with my dad about Friday...but im staying home..so i guess i "won"...after a lot of tears. Didn't do much the rest of the evening, just showered and cleaned up my room some...exciting huh?

tuesday, wednesday, happy days [17 Feb 2004|11:51pm] [ mood | apathetic ] [ music | "Hey Ya"-Outkast ] Today wasn't the most exciting day, but I got a lot of school done so I suppose that's good. I went to biology 2 this morning and had class...SOOOOOO long, after that i went home...it was snowing outside but nothing was accumulating, thank goodness! Our mailman is really slacking cause it was 1ish by the time I got home and we STILL hadn't gotten our mail...that's kinda off subject, but still :p. Anyway, I did my school during the day and had some lunch, then left for math tutoring, that went well as usual...I still havent found out the grades for my tests....I hope theyre good! My last few tests haven't been the best...I think I've been too lax with my work...and its reflecting in my test scores. I might have to go away this Thursday/Friday....I really really really hope I don't have to :(..

Weekend Update [16 Feb 2004|12:09am] [ mood | thoughtful ] This weekend was the LONGEST weekend I've had in a LONG time...lets start with Friday... **Friday** Went to the chiropractor first thing in the morning, which was nice cause I really needed to be adjusted and I felt really good afterwards, then my mommy and I went over to the barn, Jan was already there (lady who helps with feeding) she was kinda lost...so I helped her finish up then we went to Kathy's house to feed Bambi (little 2 yr old filly) then we went back over, by then Jerry had arrived, so they started getting the horses ready for the school kids while I mucked out stalls....ALL 5 of them, which screwed up whatever Dr. Higley did to fix my shoulder, but at least it was done. The kids came, only 3, which was really good cause we were lacking volunteers, they all did really well and it was nice to be teaching again. After we finished and untacked I went and got my mommy and I some lunch while Casey rode, we ate and then got everything ready for the horses for the night. **Saturday** MUCH MUCH MUCH busier than Friday, I got to the barn about 7:30ish, and I made sure they horses had hay, Rebecca arrived so we started to feed the horses, the first student came and the fill-in instructor still hadnt shown up, so, I got Tabitha to call her..and she forgot what time to be there :p Anyway, Tabitha and I got the girls (Michelle and Katie) tacked up and ready, it was just a vaulting lesson so I basically taught it because Lauren (the fill-in instructor) doesn't know vaulting :p. That lesson went really well, then the older girls were going to ride (Tabitha, Emily, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Samantha,Taylor) I had to work with taylor cause she still is pretty new, but she did really well :D and she's a sweet little girl. Ashley showed up to ride but she wasn't on our schedule..threw a hissy fit because she wasn't gonna ride....so her and her mom left saying they were going to "find another barn"...well about 20 minutes goes by, they come back, she wanted to watch the lesson..then asked to ride and we said no because we tried to accomodate her and let her ride another horse, but she wouldn't have it. So she got upset all over again, except this time we just ignored it. The rest of the lesson went ok...all the girls were REALLY nervous so they weren't riding to their full potential. After that we all ate lunch and did barn chores the rest of the day. A few of the girls rode again after Lauren left and I taught the lesson...they did SO much better because they were more relaxed around me...with Lauren i think they were all trying to "prove" something. Anyway, they all helped me get the horses ready for the night and I took emily and tabitha with me to feed Bambi. Then I FINALLY went home about 6pm and slept for roughly 2 hours before dinner...I was beat! and last but not least, today. Got to the barn about 10:30ish, Lauren, suprisingly, was already there and starting on morning barn chores. So we all finished feeding and then went in the office and talked for a long time, she told us old stories,we told her new stories (she used to be a student of Kathy's) that was fun..she seemed a lot more relaxed around us today and not quite as rigid and standoffish as she was on Saturday. Judith and Samantha came for the first lesson...which actually went really well, the girls did a good job and obeyed us :p. Elaina, Emma, and Sara were supposed to ride at 3 but showed up at 1:30..which was good...they all got on about 2...and i taught sara (we did vaulting) and I wrapped up the lesson about 3ish and her mom calls over to me "that wasn't a full hour", I promptly ignored her, and ended the lesson. It was 30 some degrees outside with windchill and her daughter and everyone else was saying how cold they were...she GOT her full hour...but her mom was being mean anyway. After that lesson I taught Tabitha and Emily in a short lesson, we did a little jumping and walk,trot, canter. Fed the horses and prepared them for the night, emily rode with me to feed Bambi and then I came home...Finally ending my barn duties for the week. My legs and generally my body are killing me but at least tomorrow I get to rest and recover, I loved every second of being at the barn, but I need a rest :p

buuuuuuusy [11 Feb 2004|11:15pm] [ mood | sore ] [ music | "Are You Gonna Be My Girl"-Jet ] The past 2 days have been the longest 2 days ive had in a long time...let's start with yesterday, Tuesday: Got up around 8ish cause i had to go to bio at nathan's house at 9:30, very looooong bio class but managed to get through it, sometime between now and next tuesday I have to take a test :p. Anywho, after that I went to best buy and bought a cd, then went to the library to do some homework, moseyed over to Chemisty...my last class, yay!!! Then afterwards I went to the barn for awhile so Kathy and I could go over the stuff for this weekend. Then I went to physical therapy which wasn't too bad but my ankle was REALLY swollen so they took it easy one me. Came home, FINALLY, at about 7:30ish, my mom yelled at me...I apologized because I supposedly "snapped" at her...I don't think it did much good though. Then, even though my foot was hurting a lot, I cleaned up the kitchen and dishes, I did ice my foot twice that night which made it feet a lot better. Had a REALLY hard time going to sleep cause my mom was snoring..didn't fall into a deep sleep till after 2am. Wednesday: (Today) Got up again around 8 or so, got dressed and all ready for physical therapy this morning, got there just BARELY on time....but still on time :D. Anyway, after that I went to chik fi la to get mommy and i some lunch, went to the Y to eat and we played mah jongg...I won, I believe 3 times...maybe 4. Left there and went to meet Kathy at her house and we all went to Sean's funeral together. It really was a beautiful service...I learned a lot about his life that I didn't know (like he was adopted)...it really was an amazing story. After we got back we went back to the barn to get all my WRITTEN instructions :p lol Kathy leaves no questions about ANYTHING. Then came home, my dad was in a bitchy mood for some reason..which he wont tell us, so I did the dishes and went through a 2hr fiasco of trying to find someone to go to the barn tomorrow and feed...finally go it settled after much teeth gritting and hair pulling. Hopefully this weekend goes smoothly...it'll be a long one, but I'm grateful that Lauren is the official "teacher" and not me, cause I've been out of the loop for SO long...itd be hard jumping back in solo.
