Their title itself is a lie
    'Green Left weekly'

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GreenLeft_discussion/message/55676

    '...I wrote on 25 June:

"The most serious thing to note here is Chris' argument that it was okay
to quote Combet's lies without distancing GL from them because those
lies were 'useful' in raising 'workers' awareness'. It would be
interesting to know whether this is now official editorial policy of
Green Left: that it is acceptable to reprint untrue remarks without
comment as long as the writer believes the remarks are useful in raising
workers' awareness. And if that is the case, is there a necessity to
find someone else who has told the lie in the first place, or can the
writer just invent his/her own lie - provided, of course, that he/she
    considers it useful for awareness-raising?"

Since then, Chris and his co-thinkers have been silent (only on this
question). Clearly, they can't bring themselves to answer my question
about how much bureaucratic lying can be reported in GLW as though it
were true. Nor do they want to address the logical follow-up of whether
such lies have to be told by certified bureaucrats in order to get a run
    in Green Left.

While disappointing, their eloquent silence is not surprising. After
all, these are the same people who in Green Left report virtually any
action of a DSP member as a "Socialist Alliance" activity...'

    Hey Alan
Their great leader says Marxism may no longer hold true so he clearly is a defacto nihilist and cynic by posturing as one. He's like one of those UK bishops that no longer believes in Xtianity yet carries on posing as a priest. A fake, a fraud and a phony baloney liar without even opening his big mouth.
Then there's their sole remaining Palestinian rep...clap hands if you believe in this Tinkerbell.
Yes they lie. They lie to each other as well as to everybody else. Its hardly what you'd call a newsflash but thanks for laying it out for us once again. If they were a brand of dog-food they'd be taken off the shelves.

    The Zilla
Glenn, so be sure to read his whole piece. But here's this part that's particularly salient:

It's notable because the political establishment is not only about to pass a patently corrupt bill, but worse, are spouting -- on a very bipartisan basis -- completely deceitful claims to obscure what they're really doing. This is what Soderberg says is what happened:

The Senate is dragging its feet because the compromise bill's opponents -- mostly Democrats -- want also to punish the telecommunications companies that answered President Bush's order for help with his illegal, warrantless wiretapping program. That is the wrong target.

In the aftermath of Sept. 11, the White House directed telecommunications carriers to cooperate with its efforts to bolster intelligence gathering and surveillance -- the administration's effort to do a better job of "connecting the dots" to prevent terrorist attacks. In its review of the effort, the Senate Intelligence Committee concluded that the administration's written requests and directives indicated that such assistance "had been authorized by the president" and that the "activities had been determined to be lawful."

We now know that they were not lawful. But the companies that followed those directives are not the ones to blame for that abuse of presidential power.

I would really like to know where people like Soderberg get the idea that the U.S. President has the power to "order" private citizens to do anything, let alone to break the law, as even she admits happened here. I'm asking this literally: how did this warped and distinctly un-American mentality get implanted into our public discourse -- that the President can give "orders" to private citizens that must be complied with? Soderberg views the President as a monarch -- someone who can issue "orders" that must be obeyed, even when, as she acknowledges, the "orders" are illegal.

That just isn't how our country works and it never was. We don't have a King who can order people to break the law. I have no doubt that people like Nancy Soderberg are spending the July 4 weekend paying shallow homage to the Founding, all the while being completely ignorant of or indifferent to the principles they pretend to celebrate...' - Kos

    The deserters tale
A Canadian court ruled that a refugee board needs to re-examine its denial of asylum to Joshua Keys, author of The Deserter's Tale. Maybe he and his family could come down here?
He's a pretty good writer and we need more of them down here.

    The Webster dictionary attack
This can still have surprising resonances - indeed there might be occasions where I would use it myself. Just take the most simplistic, reductionist and just plain dumb definition of anarchism from the dumbest American Time/Life/Walt Disney dictionary and smear the opposition with it. ' Anarchy' then becomes synonymous with the rules of armed gangs and/or complete madness, chaos and disorder.
This could actually be handy if ever the anarchist-communists pretend to lead a revolution. We might be able to nip them in the bud with a little judicious disinformation. Turn about is fair play after all. Because all we really have is our good reputation. Once that is tampered with, diluted and distorted beyond all recognition by alternative histories ( such as those the Platformists specialize in) we're lost.
Another group this crude attack might be useful for are the 57 varieties of autonomism. The Council communists, 'Libertarian Marxists', and so on and on and on. The Sits - you know the type. Megaphone Marxists who no one likes. If by chance one day these losers ever get their shit together we should be there to tell strategic lies about them. And in this case it wouldn't even be a lie. Imagine all these sectarian schismatics actually having some influence in the real world!?
Why it would be ' chaos, disorder and riot'. Thank you Websters dictionary.

    Change isn't what it was
Change, it turns out, wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. Having campaigned for the past year as the agent of transformation, the man who would lead an historic shift in America's political direction, Barack Obama is discovering that there is quite a lot he likes about the way things are.
Since securing the Democratic nomination a few weeks ago, the only change coming from the Illinois senator has been in what he seems to stand for. Last month he dropped his opposition to a Bill before Congress that would give telecoms companies immunity from prosecution for carrying out illegal wiretaps on potential terrorist suspects.
He told a cheering crowd of Israel's supporters of his fervent commitment to the security of the Jewish state and added, for good measure, that an “undivided” Jerusalem should be the nation's capital.
This week he promised to expand President Bush's faith-based organisations initiative, a programme that channels funds to religious groups so that they can deliver social welfare services, which the Left regards as a heinous blurring of Church-State separation.
If next week he named Dick Cheney as his running-mate and revealed that he spends his spare time drilling for oil in wildlife habitats, the only surprise would be that it took him so long.
Mr Obama's pivot is so hard and so fast that the entire Democratic Party is suffering from whiplash.
A whimper of pain has gone up from the base. Those who really believed in the Audacity of Hope now fear a Timidity of Kerry. Arianna Huffington dubbed Mr Obama's move not realpolitik, but “realstupidpolitik”.
Conservatives, meanwhile, led by John McCain's Republican campaign, say that the presumptive Democratic nominee's pivot shows that, for all his talk of offering a new kind of politics, he is really just another cynical politician who will say anything to get elected.
So its not just be the Left who are wondering: what's left?

    The yellowcake issue
'...The yellowcake issue also is one of the many troubling footnotes of the war for Washington.

A CIA officer, Valerie Plame, claimed her identity was leaked to journalists to retaliate against her husband, former Ambassador Joe Wilson, who wrote that he had found no evidence to support assertions that Iraq tried to buy additional yellowcake from Niger.

A federal investigation led to the conviction of I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. ..'

Saddam had over 500 tonnes of yellowcake. The right-fascist, Michael Ledeen and the left-fascist Christopher Hitchens would have you believe that he was after MORE in the rush for war.
This fascist BIG LIE technique has plagued all human history - and the Bush regime bought into it with the 16 words. But what about the 21 words directly following the 16 words?
These related to processing, without which raw yellowcake is not that scary. These related to Judys little tubes of terror and these words have never been redacted to this day. As one vital half of a binary weapon-of-mass-deception this can only mean one thing. The criminal cover-up is real and the criminal cover-up is ongoing. This is not only worse than Watergate - its far worse even than Iran - contra.

    Not all we know
The RAT Institute is suspicious about this story in the ABC website...

Some 200,000 people were marooned in Bangladesh when a storm caused a sea surge to swamp a number of villages in southern coastal districts, officials said.
Three landslides caused by torrential monsoon rains killed 10 people while six others drowned in swirling flood waters in southeastern Cox's Bazar district, said chief administrator Sajjadul Hasan.

"Low-lying areas in the districts have gone under 1.3 to 1.7 metres of flood water, stranding over 20,000 people," Mr Hasan said.
Heavy monsoon rains in southern, southeastern and northeastern Bangladesh have triggered landslides and flash floods, killing at least 20 people over the past four days.

Several rivers in the southeastern hill districts burst their banks and caused the floods, officials said.

Bangladesh, which is criss-crossed by over 200 rivers, was hit by a major floods last year, when water fed by melting glaciers in the Himalayas and heavy rains inundated more than 40 per cent of the land.

More than a thousand people were killed in the floods, which left millions of people homeless and damaged infrastructure and property worth over a billion dollars. - END Story

We feel this is a poorly researched ABC story and needs conformation. Toward that end we are raising funds in cyberspace or anyplace in order to send that fearless investigative reporter on climate, Andrew Bolt to Bangladesh. He is a man of the lowlands after all.
So far we have raised enough for a one-way ticket.
Please give that climate change truthiness shall live.

    The class scam
When it comes to class struggle socialists the word class goes through the looking glass.

Humpty Dumpty: When I use a word, it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less.

Class becomes an infinitely malleable 'Alice' when the working-class in the advanced countries ( according to Herr Marx and Engels) is 'embourgeoisied' and Lenin later adds that the working-class itself is incapable of much rather than ' Trade-union consciousness'. These impeccable capitalistic bourgeois gentlemen then assure us plebians that they, the Marxists, are the only ones who can tell who the real worker is.
Just one small problem - even 100 years later they still can't all agree on who is or is not fair-dinkum working class. No wonder they don't use the term 'scientific-socialism' much any more. Any science this poor in making predictions from observations would have been laughed out of existence by now anyway.
Its truly sad to see anarchists buying into this fetishized commodity. And they don't even add the rider 'peasant' to help the sour mash go down. Unfit for human consumption then, now and foreever.
If you can't define class usefully then please, please, please. Don't even bother trying.

AP On Barry: We're Loven It!

Yesterday we flagged the AP's Jennifer Loven's analysis piece flogging the spin on Obama's run to the lunar-right white. Well, as every crack communication operation knows, message repetition is the key to success. And so today we have another analysis piece, this time by the AP's Steven Hurst. And it's practically the same piece. Hurst and Loven actually both use the identical quote from Alex Conant.

Says Conant: ""There appears to be no issue that Barack Obama is not willing to reverse himself on for the sake of political expedience."

Whiter than white Mark Steyn - '...Why did Bosnia collapse into the worst slaughter in Europe since World War Two? In the thirty years before the meltdown, Bosnian Serbs had declined from 43 percent to 31 percent of the population, while Bosnian Muslims had increased from 26 percent to 44 percent. In a democratic age, you can't buck demography -- except through civil war. The Serbs figured that out -- as other Continentals will in the years ahead: if you can't outbreed the enemy, cull 'em. The problem that Europe faces is that Bosnia's demographic profile is now the model for the entire continent...'

As I said at the time:

I don't see how it's possible to interpret this excerpt -- given that Steyn is also contending that these demographics are inevitable throughout Europe, and he offers no solution that would accommodate or assimilate Muslims -- as anything other than outright advocacy of genocide and the Bosnian model of "ethnic cleansing" for the rest of Europe...' - FIREDOGLAKE

    Stuck in the 1920's
The Plats use of the term 'workers' and 'working class' seems stuck in the 20's doesn't it. I mean even a Klutz like Mao saw the importance of sucking up to the peasants. Then in indigenous societies these class terms are practically meaningless. We don't hear the terms 'peasants' and ' peasant class' much @ Anarkismo...and we don't see 'indigenous' practically anywhere. In fairness they are starting to suck up to some of the identity politics hits of the seventies so maybe in 30 years or so...

The anthrax used in the terrorist mailings of 2001 almost certainly came from the bioweapons labs at Ft. Detrick. Yeah, and those attacks came after September 11, too, which means it isn't true that there have "been no attacks" since al-Qaeda on Bush's watch. ( Prof Cole)

Some of my modest efforts came after 9-11 ( I'm especially proud of those that preceded it!) These are available on request of a copy of my AFP, FBI and US SS files and perusal of Denver Post archives) We will win if we do not give in to those who would try to appease the enemy. Play ‘Pin Obama on the Donkey’ instead.

No sooner said than done with Althusserian effort...

Hans Reiser, the inventor of ReiserFS, was found guilty of first degree murder on 29 April this year. There were hints following his conviction that he would lead police to his Russian wife Nina's body, which has never been found. That now seems unlikely.
During the almost six-month trial Reiser's defense had argued that 31-year-old Nina simply returned to Russia, leaving Hans Reiser to care for their two children. The jury did not believe the story, however. Police found her car in the Oakland hills six days after she disappeared in September 2006. Hans Reiser's Honda was found waterlogged with the passenger seat missing and two books about police murder investigations inside.

There was also a sleeping bag in the Honda, stained with Nina Reiser's blood. - MORE ON

    Bad losers
Nandigram is active again with fresh waves of violence. The Marxist controlled West Bengal cops are blaming the Trinamool Congress for the trouble. But in reality, the cops did little when fresh incidents of bombing and firing incidents were reported from Gar Chakraberia and Jadubarichak localities of Nandigram today, a day ahead of the swearing-in of the Sabhadhipati of Zilla Parishad, East Midnapore district where Marxists lost the local elections.
There were reports of some shots fired and bombs hurled in the area which remained tense after the Trinamool win in the rural polls recently.
According to Trinamool Congress, CPI(M) is trying to unleash fresh waves of terror in the localities of Nandigram before the swearing-in of the Sabhadhipati as "the Marxists were wary of losing grip in the area".
It seems the Chief Minister of West Bengal Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, commonly called the Buddha of Bengal has turned terrorist again to revenge on the local people of Nandigram who ousted the Marxist thugs from their region of the world. - FROM

    Zionazi's latest dirty trick
When a toilet is flushed in Gaza City, the waste sloshes straight into the Mediterranean.
A yearlong standoff between Zionazi's and Hamas has left the territory's sewage system in a state of collapse, flooding its coastal waters with human waste and blanketing crowded beach-side neighborhoods in a fierce stench.
The consequences can be deadly. Last year, five people were killed when a small waste reservoir collapsed. This summer, as Gazans head to the beaches, the World Health Organization is warning them to stay out of the sea.
"If the amount of sewage dumped into the sea remains at this rate, we'll be facing a dark future for sea water in Gaza," said WHO official Mahmoud Daher.
An Zionazi blockade imposed after Hamas was elected in a democratic election last year has left the territory without enough fuel to operate its already overburdened treatment plants.

Our parliaments are becoming psychiatric hospitals
    Finding asylum
In 1766, Scottish philosopher David Hume helped the radical Swiss intellectual Jean-Jacques Rousseau find asylum in England; a few months later, the volatile philosopher accused his benefactor of masterminding a murky conspiracy against him and triggered a virulent response. The argument had nothing to do with philosophy (or Rousseau's dog), but, as in their well-received Wittgenstein's Poker, the authors use the dispute as a pretext for an engaging rundown of the two thinkers' great ideas—with a big swig of human interest to wash down the philosophical morsels. Their (sometimes excessively) detailed, meandering account of the feud points to something larger: the contrast between the affable, urbane rationalist Hume and the moody, paranoid, emotionally overwrought Rousseau prefigures, they believe, the shift from the Enlightenment cult of reason to the Romantic cult of feeling. The authors widen their vivid portraits of the antagonists into a panorama of the cross-Channel intellectual community that refereed the squabble, taking in the ancien régime salons and their brilliant hostesses and the London and Paris streets where visiting philosophers were mobbed like rock stars. The result is an absorbing cultural history of the republic of letters in its exuberant youth. ( AMAZON )

    A Merry Rush
    The Economics of Sockpuppetry
    by Devilstower
Sun Jul 06, 2008 at 08:42:26 AM PDT
Remember Freakonomics, the book co-authored by University of Chicago economist Steven Levitt? The central argument of the book is that people respond to incentives, and are willing to cheat if the incentives to do so outweigh the consequences. A lot of attention has been given to the book's controversial contention that crime dropped in the 1990s because many would-be criminals were aborted post Roe v Wade. Less attention has been given the reasons that the book cites as cause of increased crime previous to that point: a push for rights of the accused, concern that punishments being handed out were being too tough on blacks and Hispanics, and the "liberal ethos" of the time.

Naturally, a book that makes such statements is in for an argument... from the right. This Chicago School tome has been singled out as being too liberal, and denying the righteous power of the free markets.

The response is Freedomnomics, by former University of Chicago economist John R. Lott, jr. If Lott's name sounds familiar, it may be because his theory about why crime dropped is explicitly mentioned -- and dismissed -- in the pages of Freakonomics. Lott, the author of More Guns, Less Crime cited statistics that purported to show that where there were more concealed weapons, crime fell. This book was very important to the debate on that issue. It helped kick start drives that had been stalled at that point, and gave those in favor of carry laws a big academic stick, filled with graphs and charts, with which to beat their opponents. It also secured Lott a spot with the American Enterprise Institute.

Unfortunately, Lott's thesis had two problems:

    1. Other people were unable to find the results he cited when looking at the same numbers, leaving many people to believe that he had gotten to his conclusions through the application of a great deal of fudge.

    2. John Lott -- professor and author -- was vigorously defended by Mary Rosh, a young female student who had attended most of Lott's classes and loved his work. The trouble was Mary Rosh was a sockpuppet.

Lott created the Rosh character to provide lots of virtual praise.

I have to say he was the best professor that I ever had," s/he wrote. "You wouldn't know that he was a 'right-wing' ideologue from the class... There were a group of us students who would try to take any class that he taught. Lott finally had to tell us that it was best for us to try and take classes from other professors more to be exposed to other ways of teaching graduate material."

Mary was also a staunch defender of Lott's thesis that crime had been reduced through the application of shootin' irons. As a wee-little female who drew the unwanted attention of dastardly men, she championed his cause.

"Do you really think that most women can out run your typical criminal?...Even if I am not wearing heels, I don’t think that there are many men that I could outrun.

As a woman, who weighs 114 lbs, what am I supposed to do if I am confronted by a 200 lbs. man?"

Mary Rosh continued to blast Lott's opponents, and praise his work, showing up seemingly every time his name was mentioned. Mary's postings went on for three years. Only after investigation revealed that there had never been any such student, did Lott finally confess.

At the same time Lott's sockpuppetry was being revealed, his research was also under attack. The editor of Science called him simply, "a fraud," and the National Academy of Sciences launched a review.

This story may sound amusing, but there's an aspect of it that's simply amazing: through all of this, as Lott's lying and exaggeration was revealed, his post at the American Enterprise Institute was never in doubt. Regnery Publishing, Inc -- which had no problem publishing such bits of tripe as The Secret Life of Bill Clinton and Unfit for Command despite their lack of facts -- was only too happy to publish his book. If you think there is a level to which AEI, Regnery, and their ilk will not sink, you haven't been paying attention.

John R. Lott, jr. is the poster child from the "conservative intellectual," a man who is a demonstrated serial liar, but who is still given voice and money by the right. Neither truth, nor any sort of moral code, are allowed to get in the way of propagating conservative talking points. - MORE ON

    Barry's bon-bons
    Xmas in July

Bad Santa Barry Obonbon's "flip-flop" on the Iraq war. Fuck me.
The War Street Journal now avers that it's the Bodacious One, rather than the GOP nominee, who's running for "Bush's third term." And whose to argue?

First they came for the John Flipper Kerry's...

Obama, says La Huffington, is "watering down" his "brand." He's classic Coke suddenly turned to Pepsi, or, God forbid, even root beer! Will somebody puh-leeze call that waiter over here and order some Mentos!

A favorite – and by now quite threadbare – camel canard spread by the humps of teh War Party is that anyone who doesn't advocate teleporting the troops out of Iraq - as in some early episode of Star Trek - is somehow acknowledging that we have to stay, after all, and "finish the job." Blood-for-oil ain't cheap donchaknow. ( h/t Gay Patriots core Santorum dump on the floor)

I'll readily admit there is something awfully mealy-mouthed about saying that we have to extract ourselves "responsibly" from the impossible situation the War Party has put us in. What the heck does that even mean?

    Go ask Larry

I have been critical of Senator Craig, specifically his foreign policy stances, and will continue to call him out when he's widely wrong. Yet in this crucial instance, he is so far walking-the-walk – and logcabin libertarian perverts can only cheer him on by trailing their own coats and waving in a friendly manner.

The Republican Party has lost its soul. It's no longer the party of cold water showers. For years, it was about small penal government, low taxes on public toilets, rectal responsibility. Foreign policy was always about, 'Look after ourselves first and homosexual outreach second,' but it was never about having our own decadent Roman Empire in Airport toilets. … I see Larry as the Democratic Ronald Reagan — someone who can really reach across under the aisle and bring us together under the new sodomy statutes and heal us as a nation. … In the long term, a catastrophic loss of pants in November could be very good for this bend-over party in the stalls.
Arianna Huffington and her ostensibly left-wing straight friends are pygmies barking at the heels of a giant, who is so far above their petty partisan tirades that the distance can only be measured in light years. In the Bizarro World of the boring Huffy lefties, Larry's attempt to reach out across party lines is a strategy for defeat, while a sectarian and more conventional, straight partisan Democratic campaign is still certain to do the same ass-trick without even the courtesy of a reach-around.

Barry the banker of last resort
Now that that last sound you heard is the deafening rattle of scales falling from peoples eyes while looking at the 'works' of the Messiah it may be a good chance to focus in on one of Barry's most breathtakingly cynical and nihilistic statements of intent ever.
This relates to the infamous and unholy Bear-Stearns bailout which Barry approved because any loss of confidence in primal capitalism could prove fatal. That is Barry approved the transfer of billions of dollars of YOUR MONEY into the greasy hands of a few speculators already pulling in obscene salaries each year.
So what this means is really very simple - it amounts to the appeasement of any fat-cat or General willing to press the crisis button. And this was all very succinctly put by Hermann Goering...

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."

And any capitalist system red-in-tooth-and-claw - just ask Barry the banker. His interest is killing.

Strike called ' industrial terror tactics '
Wow - Iemma could be a moderator at anarchobull

NEW South Wales will not bow to the "industrial terror tactics" of rail workers who are threatening to strike during World Youth Day, Premier Morris Iemma says.
The Rail Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) said today it was planning a 24-hour strike by rail workers on July 17, the busiest day of the Catholic event.
It is the day Pope Benedict XVI will make his way through the streets of Sydney during the afternoon peak.

The NSW Government will take the matter to the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) tomorrow.
Mr Iemma said his Government would not cave in to the RTBU.
"The Government will not be blackmailed into giving them what they want as a result of these industrial terror tactics," he said.
"The threat to embarrass the state on one of the most important days of the recent history will not cut ice with the Government."
Mr Iemma said the Government had offered the RTBU a 4 per cent pay rise each year for two years, and it was willing to continue negotiations.
RTBU NSW secretary Nick Lewocki said he understood the planned action would cause major concerns for commuters with no contingency plans in place.

"But again we ask the commuters, the public out there, to understand you can't have frontline public sector essential workers being told they need to take a pay cut and cut back services," Mr Lewocki said.

A World Youth Day spokesman said organisers were confident the Government would resolve the matter.
Mr Watkins said the Government would go to the Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) today in an attempt to resolve or defer strike action.
"Any threat to take industrial action ... is irresponsible, and in particular next week," Mr Watkins said.
"It will have a major negative impact on the people of Sydney, families going about their business as well as that for the many thousands of visitors who will be here for World Youth Day."
The RTBU said it was taking the action because the Government had failed to offer its members an acceptable pay increase. - END

Doublethink common to church and state
Pell letter misled sex abuse victim

As the Catholic church prepares to celebrate World Youth Day, ABC 1's Lateline program has published documents that raise new questions about how the country's most senior churchman, Cardinal George Pell, has handled sexual abuse allegations against a clergyman.
The documents show that Cardinal Pell wrote to a victim who had been abused by a Catholic priest telling him there were no other complaints against the priest, even though Cardinal Pell knew there was another victim and also wrote to him on the same day.
Lateline's investigation shows Cardinal Pell ignored a report from his own church investigators recommending that the victim's allegation be upheld.

Tune in to Lateline for the full story. ( ABC )

There is anecdotal evidence that some of the input for the Orwellian concept of doublethink came from Sonia Orwell's catholic experiences - the rest coming from NKVD and Comintern experiences.
The process will be familiar to anyone whose made any complaints against police!

Tony Jones molested by a priest
No not Trotskycon high priest, Cristopher Hitchens, some Catholic pedophile

' I now hate pretend journalism' he said

Senior Catholic cleric George Pell allegedly misled a victim of sexual assault and sought to dismiss his complaint, according to documents obtained by ABC Television.
The allegation comes just days before the arrival of Pope Benedict XVI - and an expected 200,000 pilgrims - in Sydney for World Youth Day.
According to Monday night's ABC Lateline Program, Cardinal Pell, the head of the Catholic Church in Australia, gave misleading information to a sexual abuse victim in 2003.
The victim, Anthony Jones, claimed to have been abused by Catholic priest Terrence Goodall 20 years earlier.
In a letter obtained by the ABC, Cardinal Pell told Mr Jones the allegation had not been substantiated because the church had not received any other complaints against Father Goodall.
"No other complaint of attempted sexual assault has been received against Father Goodall," the letter allegedly said.
But another letter from Cardinal Pell, signed the same day and obtained by the ABC, was sent to a second man who also claimed to have been abused by Father Goodall.
In the second letter, Cardinal Pell told the man his complaint had been substantiated.
Mr Jones accused Cardinal Pell of getting it wrong.
"Cardinal Pell misrepresented the truth," he told ABC Television.
"I now hate Catholicism because of what Cardinal Pell has done to me, more so than what Father Goodall did to me."
Father Goodall was later convicted of indecent assault, according to the ABC.
The ABC said Cardinal Pell had not responded to a request to appear on the Lateline program or make a comment.
Cardinal Pell said the Pope was likely to apologise to victims of sexual abuse during his visit to Australia. The Pope will be in Sydney from July 15-20.- The AGE
