Revisionist exercises
A couple of classic ' dog-that-didn't-bark' clues that may offer some insight into the great split.

Hillary Clinton today brought up the assassination of Sen. Barack Obam...Robert Kennedy while defending her decision to stay in the race against the Black Osama.

Why did anarchists fall for it? The hindsight bias and the confirmation bias. Once you believe that anarchism holds no privileged position in the search for truth, and that it is just another way of knowing, it is easy to pull out of any article like Mr. Flood additional evidence that supports your belief. It is a very human process, and since anarchism is conducted by very real humans, shouldn't it be subject to these same cognitive biases? Yes, except for one thing: the built-in defense known as the anarchist method.
There is progress in anarchism, and some views really are superior to others, regardless of the color, class, gender, or country of origin of the anarch holding that view. Despite the fact that anarchist data is "theory laden," anarchism is truly different than art, music, religion, and other forms of human expression because it has a self-correcting mechanism built into it. If you don't catch the flaws in your theory, the slant in your bias, or the distortion in your preferences, someone else will, usually with great glee and in a public forum — for example, a competing journal! Anarchists may be biased, but anarchism itself, for all its flaws, is still the best system ever devised for understanding how the political world works.

I only got half way through this before getting snagged on a couple of whoppers. These are typical Plat alternative histories and while the Platformist cult are perfectly entitled to their own opinions they are not entitled to their own facts.
1) Propaganda of the deed came in response to intolerable totalitarian opression that included regular massacres of workers and peasants. Everybody has the right to self-defense...and self defense is a defense against many charges of murder. Also PoD never really went away after the classic period where anarchists knocked off a president and several absolutist monarchs. PoD was used in Spain to defend the workers against Falangist murderers. It was even used after the Franco victory as may seen in the name of one Platformist(!) collective. The Sabate collective. All this nonsense about PoD seems designed to help all these 'recovering Marxists' all aboard the Trojan Horse of Platformism feel at home as PoD doctrine fits in with diversity-of-tactics but not with Marxism.
2) As if that wasn't bad enough then we have this howler ...'they rejected a specifically anarchist organization'...so what was the FAI Karl? Chopped liver? My Spanish is frightful but isn't that the ' Federation Anarchista Iberia?

If that is how he would behave as President, the country would regret his election.

Emilio Comici (1901-1940) was a legendary Italian climber who completed many important first ascents in the Dolomites, including the Via Comici on the North Face of Cima Grande di Lavaredo. The Via Comici is a very direct line up a huge wall that was considered impossible before this climb was completed in 1934. Still today it is considered one of the “Six North Faces” of the Alps. Comici is also famous for the concept of the “direttissima” as a direct route up a wall that follows the imaginary path taken by a drop of water falling from the summit of the mountain.

Louis Pope Proyect (born April 12, 1940) is the founder and senior commissar of Marxmail in Utah, a non-denominational Marxist sect with more than 20 active members. Louis is also CEO at his non-profit rouble denominated offshore corporation, Global Leninism Television (GETFUKD-TV).
Proyect is the President and CEO of this Red-Fascist Marxmail podcasting service for pods, which telecasts his national radio and television ministry carried in the United States on 160 TV stations, 50 radio stations and eight networks, including The Perspiration Network (ISTNK) and Trilobite Broadcasting Network. Is that all there is?
It seems a perennial conceit of the bourgeois authoritarian socialist, or Marxist for short, that their body of work is somehow superior due to its bulk and weight as compared to the supple simplicity of anarchism.
Yet much of this 'superstructure' evaporates on close examination. All that is solid materialist Marxist theory turns to air the closer you get down to it. So whats left?
Going by Louis Proyect not much. Not much besides a fairly mindless Manichean split between 'Communism' four legs good. ' Capitalism' two legs bad. Not much besides the machtpolitik that actual existing socialism is the essence of might-makes-right. And not much else besides the usual blitzkrieg style polemics against the slightest levity or - Marx forbid! - criticism. This brings me to that old Peggy Lee classic...is that all there is?

After all what sort of walking talking black-hole of cynical nihilism could ever rationalize all those millions slowly tortured to death in the name of bourgeois ideological vanity?
