Remember the movie Powder? In one scene (the one where he demosntrates a Jacob's ladder, I think - or was that a Tesla coil?), Jeff Goldblum's character - a high school physics teacher - tells his class about a theory Albert Einstein once made about physical form and energy.
He (Jeff Goldblum) said that the belief that men use only a tenth of their brain is possible. Because Einstein believed that if man were to use the full capacity of his/her brain, we would have no use for our bodies - we would be pure energy.
So. My question is this:
Is it coincidence, stereotype or our internal wirings that tell us that when we see a particulary attractive person, we don't automatically assume that there is a working, functioning, critical brain in there? Because non-intelligent people have more need of good packaging than the more learned?

Speaking of bugnot, I am dead bored.
I just finished reading Angels and Demons - the plot was fantastic (root word: FANTASY) and nearly led me into cardiac arrest several times (Note: read Dan Brown with a pinch of salt and a healthy dose of cynism. Even with my piddling knowledge of the Renaissance, I know that most of those "well-researched" facts are fabrications). And as with all exhilirating things, post-adrenalin you are left with the "I gotta have some more" syndrome. Tapos when the cosmos doesn't deliver, you're more lethargic than someone who had a twelve-course Italian dinner.
Kaya here I am with no energy, but with a lot of sugar in my bloodstream.
And I'm thinking up excuses as to how I can maneouver my way out of this album launch thing tonight.

Last night, I finally got what I've been craving for the past three weeks: INTELLIGENT CONVERSATION.
Good Lord it was heavenly.
Oh and for everyone who wants to: try Greens. It's a small restaurant along Sct. Tuason in QC. Right in front of Max's (The House That Fried Chicken Built). It's wonderful... Try the Tofu and Mushroom Kebabs and the soy cheese melts. Better yet, give me a call when you want to eat there. We can drool over the mango custard and their eggless chocolate cake :)

Speaking of work. The training officially begins tomorrow. I still don't know if I have a fighting chance with the promotion, but it feels good to finally do something.

I'm listening to Clay Aiken do his version of birit - what is the English equivalent of that word? Help? Anyway, this guy sounds a LOT like Erik Santos. Just goes to show that when Pinoy Idol (or whatever they plan on calling it) finally makes its debut, it will make for interesting TV. I guess I'll have to make my Candid Camera from Hell pitch some other time right, Rej?
Aaaaanyway.
OJT Killer gave me news last night. Seems like there's an opening for a producer in these here parts. He's putting my name in and let me know last night. That doesn't mean I get the job because if Paolo's doing the choosing, I'm pretty sure I'm out of the running. That guy sort of has it in for me. But still, I've never been considered for this kind of thing - a promotion that counts. And you know what the funny thing is? I'm not even sure I want this job, the responsibilites and the falling hair that comes with it. But I did as for a challenge and thus, a challenge was given to me.
I'm very good at confusing myself.

I just finished watching Meet My Folks on etc and it's the episode where there's this one guy (Erik - lovely name) confesses that he's still in love with his ex.
So the parents decide to pair up their daughter with another guy who might just have budding sex addiction issues.
If I were the girl and the decision were left up to me, I would have done the same thing.

I'm pulling for a serious moment here. Bear with me.
I was complaining to my best friend the other day because it seems that every guy I've ever wanted ends up with someone else. And because my best friend is always on my side, she calls/concludes every single one of the women of ill-repute and the guys lacking in taste and working brain cells. More often that not, her pronouncements end up being hilariously true and I'm never around long enough to appreciate the results because I'd have moved on to someone else. My life is vicious cycle.
I think Roxy finally got pissed at me because she gave me a lecture and basically told me to shut up and wait.
Makes sense, now that my brain has finally gotten around to processing the words. MAYBE the world really has surpises in store for me. Good surprises. And maybe the other guys teaming up with less-than-stellar examples of the female species is the world's way of telling me that those people were not really what I deserved or needed.
Life + fate + your best friend teaches you lessons that aren't exactly kind, but damn, they work.

I am sprouting strange things on my person. I have three or four itchy red welts on my left arm: one just below my elbow, another right above my elbow and the last below my shoulder. They're not painful or anything, they're kind of warm and itchy. Imagine a mosquito bite - only slightly bigger and not as soft.

Stupid blog-worthy moment:
The elevator my OJTs and I were in yesterday evening stopped at the 5th floor where Fitness First (aka People's Republic of China Gym) is and in walked Troy Montero.
So all four of us were inside the elevator and I decided to say something clever: "Tsk. Gusto ko na manood ng T..." Then goggled at my OJT - I realized that the person we were in the elevator had the same name as the movie. I looked at my OJT and she said: "Menelaus talaga, o." And then I countered with: "haha! Andromache!
Me and my big mouth.
