10:08pm: Checking In
Missed an update last week, so a short summary:

I went away with my two friends, and had a decent time. Not too much moping about dead Mum's, and more looking to the future kind of talk. In fact, it was LOTS of talk. We pretty much talked from Thursday night to Sunday afternoon straight. It was really good having that much time to just chat and walk and chat and rockhop and chat and eat with them, and I actually feel up-to-date with one of my oldest and nicest friends for the first time in a long time. The eating, however cut a bit of a hole in ye olde diet - only lost 0.2 kg for the week, but I was frankly grateful that I didn't put weight on! Had fish and chips for lunch, and much more chocolate than I should have had, and then I couldn't seem to get back on track properly even when I came home. Have been better this week, though, so I should actually lose some by this Wednesday. Wasn't helped along in my diet by one evil friend, who sabotaged me the whole weekend (poured out the 2L water I am supposed to drink each day, made me a "hot shake", and then later told me it was a full cream milk and chocolate hot chocolate, and put chips and lollies in front of me the whole time. Grrrr). But all-in-all, it was actually a lovely weekend, and I enjoyed time with people who know me pretty well.

One thing that the weekend brought up was that we really are turning into adults. Where we would have talked about crushes and sleepovers when we went to Gerringong at 16, we spent a lot of the weekend talking about marriage and buying houses. It's a little scary that most of my friends are getting married or engaged (even those who have gaping holes in their relationships), particularly when the divorce rate is now creeping up to 50%. And instead of going to Natural Necessities, we went to homeware shops. And we got red wine instead of Bacardi Breezers. So yeah, feeling grown up is weird for me.

The rest of the last few weeks have been pretty uneventful. I have had the flu (or something like it), watched a fair bit of TV (thanks to Bons' giant hard drive o' TV Shows), had a few days at Uni, got me a concrete thesis structure, and procrastinated a lot. But I did get some work done, and I have plans for a lot more.

This week I am looking forward to Wii Fit being released on Thursday! I am going to have a go at getting some excercise in every day for the first few weeks, and see how that affects my weight loss.
