of course, their long hair. As in lang. Cat fur everywhere lang. On my bed, my clothes, on the dining table, even in the food I eat sometimes kung napagtripan niyang amuy-amuyin ahahaha! Basta asahang anywhere she goes or decides to sleep, maghahasik siya ng DNA niya dun. Minsan I'd feel a strand of hair on my lips, pagkuha ko, white strand ito. And definitely not mine because wala naman akong white hair no ahahaha!
Sophie currently has 4 favorite sleeping spots. During afternoons, dun siya sa likod ng curtains sa living room namin. She probably loves the shade of sunlight there. Kapag gabi naman and early morning, sa may dulo ng dining table siya where she can see the view outside. When I bring her up during my rest days, sa corner siya ng room ko behind my door natutulog. When my mom brings her in her room naman, she sleeps in her dresser. As in she's declared those spots as her own na at asahan mong may fur niya dun hahaha!
When she explores the house to do some hunting (for cockroaches, how gross is that ewwww), syempre susuot siya sa mga sulok sulok na hindi nadadaanan ng walis, and all the dust would just stick to her fur. Para lang siyang living duster. Eh I'm so allergic to dust so during the first few weeks, whenever she'd come near me para mangharot, ay todo hatsing lang ako. Buti nga hindi na masyado now. She'd shake the dust off naman but still may naiiwan pa rin sa fur niya sa tail. Kadiri lang because ang dungis tignan.
The most irritating thing though is sumasabit minson 'yung poop niya sa fur on her behind. Thrice na nangyayari kay Sophie at nakakadiri lang. Syempre not all the time nasa house ako at kapag wala ako at nangyari ang incident, my sisters won't do anything naman but shriek, "Kadireeeee!!!" Mga puke! Ahahahah! They try to remove the poop naman pero hindi lang nila mahabol si Sophie, nagpapahabol kase. She'd try to remove it but the kadiri thing is kakaskasin niya syempre 'yun somewhere and the mere thought na may bahid ng poopoo sa floor or on the chairs even, ay sobrang yuch lang. Buti na lang every time it happens na may sumasabit na shit sa fur niya, bathing day niya so nalilinis agad. And I bathe her once a week religiously. Yesterday was her bathing day. Talagang the works lang. I cut her claws short, cleaned her ears, washed her thoroughly. Yesterday I used some Joy dishwashing liquid on her to degrease her. Namumuo na kase fur niya sa chest and neck and armpits. Ang untidy lang tignan. So every other week I degrease her and then shampoo her with her cat shampoo na ang bango sobra. So now she looks shiny and new hahaha! Plus I trimmed the fur on her behind para maiwasan na ang mga sabit moments hahaha!
And it really makes me very happy how all my hard work looks good on her. From food to vitamins to grooming. I give her LC-Vit every morning before I give her wet food (Purina's Fancy Treats. She also likes Whiska's Tuna Wet Food, just the wet food though. I won't waste money on their dry food because it has very little nutritional value to speak of.). She's being free fed naman so her dry food (Iams or Royal Canin) just waits in a corner of our kitchen to be devoured. And then I'd comb her fur for less incidents of hairball. Play with her for about 30 minutes. When I get home from work and I call her name, kahit nasaan siya in the house, she'd rush to greet me. Syempre magpapahimas si puta at titihaya talaga sa paanan ko hahahaha!! So lovely. She'd stare at me, and I can only assume that that's the look of love. If only cats have a particular meow to tell their humans they love them. But I do love her very much. The rest of us too, my mom especially. Adopting Sophie is one of the best decisions I've made without a doubt.
