 One More Chance is the best Tagalog romantic feel good movie I've seen since Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo last year. For a formulaic movie, it's really good. The plot is sensible enough though of course, the ending is predictable. There's simply no other way to end a movie like this. The actors are really effective. John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo are maybe the youngest bankable stars today. The movie soared without any help from big and veteran stars, and that alone is a major achievement. I'm not so hot on them when they're not paired with each other, but undeniably, their chemistry onscreen really works, nakakadala, nakakakilig, nakakaapekto at one point or another hahaha! They really look good together.
This is not to say that the movie is flawless because there are some dragging scenes, and medjo good luck sa short attention span ko, but the script is really good so it redeemed itself. And walang mga katangahang eksena. Everybody was relaxed and realistic. Walang exaggerated iyakan and hysterical awayan. All the other actors were good, too. Nanette Inventor is worth mentioning because she delivered the funniest and subtlest comedic hirit in the movie. Imagine the classy and fat Donya Buding, without any hint of trying to sound patawa said, "This calls for a celebration, I will eat." I swear, natawa talaga kami ng malakas hahahaha! Sadly, it was only us who got the joke. Pinoys and their slapstick humor. Sheesh.
So yes, I'm promoting One More Chance kahit I had no intention of watching it at first because it's one of the local movies I've seen in a long time that's not stupid hehehehe! Some random comments. Nakakatrawa lang, parang ang itim ng kilikili ni Bea in one scene hahaha! At kamusta ang mga printed headbands na parang Donna Cruz lang hahahha! And obvious na obvious naman na ang laki ng pinayat ni Bea so why not, cleavage galore at push-up bra kung push-up bra talaga hahaha! And ampangit mag-English ni Maja Salvador! Somebody give this girl a comm coach! Marunong pa naman siyang umarte! And ang gwapo lang ni John Lloyd sa movie hahaha!
And speaking of John Lloyd and Bea, have you seen the teaser of Maging Sino Ka Man, Ang Pagbabalik?!?! It's just fabulous!! Mukhang gone are the pa-sweet and pa-tweetums days of Celine, JB, Jackie and Eli. Looks like Book 2 is scandalous-- buhusan ng wine, sampalan, sabunutan. I LIKES!!!! Ahahahahha!!! And primera bitchesa na naman si Corazon! Ohhhh, I'm so excited to see it!!!
I have to say this, great job, Kapamilya! Sana nga lang hindi lang teaser ang maganda. Hope you've learned from the shortcomings of the first book. And I kinda like Toni Gonzaga pero hindi siya bagay dito. Angel Locsin na lang sana (who's tremendously improved her acting in that Maalaala Mo Kaya episode with Sam Milby. Thanks, Youtube!)
