Elliott Smith - Everybody Cares, Everybody Understands |

There are many reasons why Hostel is better than its sequel. It's gorier. The story has more sense and meaning, and the characters are better established so when the killings take place, you feel for them. Plus, it featured a cameo by Japanese horror director Takashi Miike.
The only good thing about Hostel 2 is the girls are hot. And probably what's most shocking about it was Heather Matarazzo's frontal nudity. No shit. Whoever thought Princess Mia's best friend would bare her all ahahahhaha! For fans of horror movies, there's really nothing new in this film. It's an absolute disappointment.

Let's give Cris Pablo an A for effort. Again, I can see that his intentions for making this film are good, but the end product is trash. The movie, set in the Quezon City Memorial Circle, just dragged and dragged, introducing new and more cardboard characters. My gad, the actors can't act to save their lives. Archie Calma?!?! Isn't he a tabloid showbiz reporter or something?!?! Ara Mina was OA as usual. I don't really see the potential in her, and how she won acting awards left and right is beyond me.
In fairness, the guys were cute ehehhe!!! And frontal nudities abound. But in fairness, of Duda, Bath House and Bilog, this has the most interesting plot, but it's the delivery that let this movie down.
