If there's one good thing about Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah Ze Moveeh, it was able to tackle the gender issues in Carlo Vergara's Ang Kagilasgilalas na Pakikipagsapalaran ni Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah better than in Ze Muzikal. But subtlety isn't one of Joel Lamangan's better traits so expect an in-your-face treatment.

In short, hindi ako nagandahan sa Ze Moveeh, potah!!! It's so disappointing!!!! Sayang, sobrang sayang ang material!!!!! Most of the songs in Ze Moveeh were also in Ze Muzikal though some of lyrics were altered. Kudos to Mr. Vincent de Jesus. The movie soundtrack is ok, but the original cast recording is waaaaay waaaay better.

Surprisingly, Eula Valdez sounds better than Zsa Zsa Padilla. Zsa Zsa is too nasal, ansakit sa tenga. And they never, never should have allowed Rustom Padilla to sing. Opening number pa. Sayang at 'yung song was specifically made for the movie. Que horror. I just wanted to leave the movie house right there and then. Boses baka si Rustom!!!! Grrrrr!!!!! Nakakaloka!!!!

But in furness, ang ganda ganda ganda ganda ni Rustom!!! I wanna be like her!! Choz. Ahahahaha!!!! Bad trip, he was too trying hard at the earlier part of the film. What's with the voice na parang iniipitan siya ng bayag?!?! But I dunno if the movie was actually shot in chronological sequence (which I highly doubt), but Rustom was good at the latter part of the film especially in Ikaw ang Superhero ng Buhay Ko. Zsa Zsa Padilla's presence was too thin. Parang, wala lang. Walang statement. Most of the time carbon copy lang siya ni Eula sa stage play. Very disappointing because Zsa Zsa is a competent actress. What happened, Zsazhing?!?!?! Pops Fernandez was ok. It was a decent, but lacking performance, but at least hindi siya nagkalat. And in as much as I hate Chokoleit, he's actually good as Didi. Not as funny as the stage play Didi, but at least, he tried to define his own Didi. Hindi niya ginaya ang Didi sa stage. Nasayang ang mga Amazonistas. It would have been better kung tinanggal na lang sila. Sayang na sayang sila. Jusko si Say Alonzo talaga, I so hate her. Walang ka-expression expression ang mukha, I swear. At sino ba ang casting director?!?!?!?! Joy Viado should have been Aling Britney. I don't know why kailangang idagdag ang characters nila Pauleen Luna and Alwyn Uytingco e hindi naman sila nakatulong sa development ng story.

For a musical, the movie is ineffective. Not because of the songs because the songs are good. It's with the editing. Bigla na lang susulpot ang mga musical numbers out of nowhere. And the script is awful. Hay naku, they never should have let Lamangan touch this, I swear. Sana ginawa na lang nilang animation.

But what really amazes me is why the movie is so flop while the play had its share of commercial success naman. And to think the movie is GP pa. Akalain mo 'yun.

It's Jose Javier Reyes best work since May Minamahal (Well, 'wag na nateng isali ang Live Show, hindi naman nila ka-genre kase.). Actually, KKK has touches of May Minamahal, but it focused more on the joys and hardships of newly weds.

Smart at maayos ang screenplay. Very true sa Filipino culture. The script is soooo funny! And the best part is it's not even intended to illicit an all out laughter, but it made me laugh my heart out.

It also helped that the cast was wonderful. The acting was very believable and natural. Walang over the top. Panalo si Gina Pareno, sobrang hilarious talaga. Gloria Diaz, Soliman Cruz and Ariel Ureta were also good. And Judy Ann Santos is showing versatility na ha, and she's very good here. Even Ryan Agoncillo was good. Naiyak pa ako sa kanya in one scene. And lemme just say na ang hot ni Gerard Pizzaras at ang cute nung younger brother ni Juday sa movie. Jusko, he's only 13 years old. Nagiging pedophile na ba ako?!?!? Ahahahhaa!!!

I haven't seen too many films last year, but this is easily one of 2006's best. It's funny without really trying and insightful at the same time. I enjoyed it so much that I have watched it twice. Wahahhahhaa.

Gerald told me Ligalig is good, too. I wanna see it. But I have yet to watch the other Cesar Montano movie, Panaghoy sa Suba.
