Fiona Apple - Sally's Song |

The news that Chin Chin Gutierrez's house in Loyola Heights was burned with fire, and that she had to carry her mother, Miss Cecile Gutierrez, to force themselves out of the burning house, deeply saddened me. Chin Chin's mother is now in ICU, and Chin Chin herself has some serious burns on her hands and face. I just heard the news on the radio on my way home, and my sister told me the details as I chose not to watch the news on TV. I just don't think I can take it.
For some strange reason, I've instantly liked her the moment she had her show business debut as Maria Clara in that TV series Noli Me Tangere. And as her career progresses, my fondness for her grew stronger and that fondness had turned into profound admiration. And I don't easily get impressed, but I've always felt how different and special she is from the rest, not just of celebrities, but of artists in general. And the fact that a lot of people can't comprehend her intelligence and easily dismiss her as weird or insane just makes me love her all the more. She has greatly contributed not just to the local entertainment industry but also to ecology and culture. This country needs more people like Chin Chin, and I sincerely pray and wish that she recovers from this ordeal very soon.
