October 7. Food trip last Saturday with co-workers Leica and Mildred. We ate in Banana Leaf in Podium. It's basically a mixture of Southeast Asian cuisines--- Malay, Thai, and Indian, and you literally eat on a banana leaf. I love the place! Cozy ang ambience. You see, I'm a Banana Leaf virgin so I let them choose which food to order, go with the flow lang ako, but when the waiter suggested Hianese chicken, ay!, may I object talaga ako ahhahaha!! AYOKO! Nakatikim na ako ng Hianese chicken sa Rasa, and I swear, yuchy!

So for appetizer we had Roti Canai with curry sauce. We also ordered Pineapple Fried Rice, Nasi Goreng, Malaysian Tilapya fillet with milk cream and spicy grilled squid. Good enough for 2 people ang servings. Medjo mahal but worth it. I love the tilapya fillet, medjo sweet siya and creamy. The best 'yung rice, parang kahit walang ulam, keri na.

After lunch, chikahan lang. From TV series to movies to books to fagness to associating Pinoy human names with certain character stereotypes. It was light and fun. We spent some minutes in Ink and Stone and Leica and I, the book lovers that we are, discovered that we have some common acquaintances from Avalon. Wala lang, amazing hahahaha! Small world talaga.

October 8. For the first time in years, I attended mass in Edsa Shrine with mi familia yesterday. Ahahahhaa!! Actually, sumunod lang ako, so I was outside the church dahil puno na sa loob and I'm sure kainitan, trying to reflect and to pray despite this couple in front of me na lambuchingan ever during Our Father. I swear, gusto ko silang jombagin. But no, this mass is between me and God. Choz. Seriously, those people are one of the reasons why I stopped attending mass.
Dating gawi, after mass we headed to Robinson's Galleria. I barely ate lunch. I just had lumpiang sariwa that they bought in a food stall in the food court. Strolled around the mall. One good thing about going to the mall with the mudra is you can talk her into buying you something. So now I've got two extra big and fluffy pillows. Yay, dream land! Had our weekly grocery after and then I treated them (my mom, Ninang, Kris and Rikka) to Henlin's siomai.

Bought a Dark Victory VCD. It's a 1939 film starring the one and only Bette Davis. Her performance here earned her her fourth (out of 11) Oscar Best Actress nomination. I think that this movie is the prototype of all the other movies about the bida going blind and dying without her knowing it at first (and we have a lot of movies like that). It also starred Geraldine Fitzgerald, Humphrey Bogart (but only in a supporting role) and a very young Ronald Reagan.
Like all her other movies, this movie is about THE diva that she was. Kumakain siya ng buhay. She devoured everybody else's presence with her flamboyant, theatrical and sometimes over the top performance, and I simply love her for that. Ahahahhahaha!
Be gay. Be very, very gay! Bette Davis as Judith Traherne Dark Victory
You go, lola!
