Watched a lot of movies the past 2 weeks...

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
I super like this movie!!! When I first heard of it, I was immediately turned off by the title because it kinda reminded me of The Divine Secrets of Ya-ya Sisterhood, which was a major disappointment. I didn't even have the slightest idea what the movie is all about.

Well, it's about 4 girl friends pala who found a pair of jeans that fitted all of them although each of them has different body types. How can a pair of jeans that Kate Moss owns fit Jennifer Lopez? Obviously, there was something magical about the jeans so they decided that since all of them will be having their summer vacation in different places apart from each other, they would pass the jeans amongst each other and each of them would narrate the special moments that happened to them when wearing the jeans.

Cute plot, cute story. The girls were cute, too. And all of them were good. My favorite character is America Ferrera's Carmen, but I also love Amber Tamblyn of Joan of Arcadia. Alexis Bledel of Gilmore Girls was divine. Blake Lively was simply hot. 100% chick flick, yes, and it did make me cry hahaha.

The Producers
Not my favorite musical but funny, funny, funny in Mel Brooks fashion. Nathan Lane was so funny and owned the film. Matthew Broderick was super cute. He was so funny when he was saying, "I'm in pain! I'm in pain, and I'm wet, and I'm still hysterical!". Uma Thurman is ravishing. Even the usually annoying Will Ferrell is funny. The old ladies were hilarious! There were super funny numbers, the best one is Keep It Gay.

The King and I
I missed this movie!!!! It's been ages since I last saw it!! Personally, I like this better than Rodgers and Hammerstein's other more famous musical, Sound of Music. I even watched the 1999 animated version, which at least featured the song Shall I Tell You What I Think of You as it was removed from the film. Never mind that the story was fabricated, it's still a great musical. It's always a delight to watch The Small House of Uncle Thomas. Rita Moreno was luminous as Tuptim. I also love her as Anita in West Side Story (A boy like that will you give sorrow...). Yul Brynner as King Mongkut (Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera) was so funny, charming and gorgeous! Deborrah Kerr owned her role that I found it hard to imagine Jodie Foster as Anna Leonowens. I love the songs. Great tracks include Hello, Young Lovers, We Kiss in a Shadow, Something Wonderful and Shall We Dance.
