I never thought that painting walls is such a tedious task. Kala ko keri lang, pahid dito, pahid doon. No, mahirap siya. My body ached for a day hahahaha. After months of planning and postponing repainting my bathroom, I finally managed to get my lazy ass to do it last week. I started Tuesday, May 16. I bought a bucket of white cement paint and a small can of yellow tint. I was so clueless. Super tanong ako sa hardware how to do it. Good thing the old lady was kind enough to explain everything to me. When she sold me the paint, I asked her, "Sino po maghahalo ng color, kayo o ako?" Hahahahhaa. Gusto kong ipahalo sa kanya hahaha. Sabi niya madali lang naman daw so sige na nga, ako na ang maghahalo. I didn't buy paint brush and roller chuva anymore, meron naman sa house.
So super excited ako. I wanted to do it right away. My mom told me to have my uncle paint it instead, but no, gusto kong ma-experience firsthand how it is to paint. So hanap ako ng container where I can mix the white paint and tint. Wala akong makita. Because I wanted to do it right there and then, hinalo ko 'yung yellow tint sa bucket mismo ng white paint. Eh medyo malaki 'yung can at madami 'yung white paint. Ang gaga ko di'ba?! What I did was so wrong hahaha. So nung una konti lang ang hinalo ko. I want the color kase to be light yellow, as in super baby yellow lang para refreshing and cool tignan. Eh while I was stirring the paint, parang wala yatang effect. So binuhos ko 'yung buong can ng tint sa white paint. Halo ever. Hala, naging mango yellow siya. Medjo napadark 'yung shade. Arrgggh, I was so devastated. But nevertheless, I painted the wall and the ceiling na rin. Hindi naman kalakihan ang bathroom ko (Yes, inangkin ko na siya because ako na lang ang gumagamit hehehe. Used to mine and Ate Aby's.) so natapos ko ang first coating in one night. Paputol putol pa 'yun because nakakangawit siya ha. I was even too lazy to place old newspapers on the floor so mega drip 'yung paint sa floor and tiles, deadma lang hahaha.
The next day, super sakit ng arms and thighs ko. Syempre super panik pa ako sa chair to reach the wall. 'Yung bathroom kase, half lower part ng wall is tiles, 'yung upper half, 'yun lang ang pininturahan ko. E medjo mataas 'yung ceiling, I had to step on a chair to reach the wall. So kapag wala ng paint sa roller, mega baba ng chair to get paint. Ahahahah. Gad, I seriously needed physical activity. So after my work, paint uli ng second coat. Sinama ko na rin ang door. Ang bagal ko sobra. After kong mapinturahan one side of the wall, pahinga. And then another side uli, nood muna ng DVD hahahaha.
And then I bought cleaning materials for the bathroom--- muriatic acid, Mr. Muscle, Domex, all kinds of scrub for the bowl and the tiles. Name it, I have it. I also cleaned the tile walls kase may mga paint na nag-drip. May mga stains na natanggal ko rin finally. Since we don't have house help for almost 4 years now, nobody really gets to clean the bathroom thoroughly. My mom would do just the basic cleaning, scrub ng tiles and bowl which is tiring na rin. You don't expect my Ate Aby to do anything of that kind. I swear, she hasn't cleaned a bathroom in her entire life. That's why tumagal ako ng almost 2 weeks. Besides, I needed to get sleep pa so ayun ang tagal bago natapos.
But here's the funny part. When I have consumed almost half of the bucket, I noticed na naging light yellow na 'yung color ng paint. Hahahaha. Sa ibabaw lang pala 'yung dark. And perfect 'yung pagiging light yellow niya, it's exactly what I wanted!!! So super I repainted the walls and ceiling na naman hahahaha. Last Friday, I was able to finish it. As in tapos na tapos na siya. Sinama ko ko na rin 'yung door kahit I know na different ang paint for wood and cement hahaha. So now, finally, it's how I've wanted it to be. Hay, napaka-fulfilling ng feeling. Pinalitan ko rin 'yung toothbrush holder and other bathroom stuff that I bought with Berns last Thursday. I just need to paint the window and door frames light blue para may accent or whatever. And then I'll buy that cute shower curtain I saw na mukhang aquarium para feeling little mermaid ako everytime nasa bathroom ahahhahaha. Tapos I wanna buy several decorations pa rin. When it's all done, and I'm fully satisfied, I'll post pictures hahaha. I'll take pictures din kase gusto makita ni Ate Aby ang results.
Hay, I'm really happy. But I swear, I will never paint again. Mahirap siya, no joke hahahaa.
