Ho ho ho! [03 Dec 2005|08:24pm]
[ music | Vienna Boys Choir - Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas ]

Ours is an old tree. If I'm not mistaken lagpas 10 years old na rin siya siguro. Before this one, we had a smaller one, but it was a lot more fun. We would decorate it with really childish decors like miniature snowmen, Santa Clauses, rats with Santa's cap, funny looking angels and many more. It was really fun because we all took heart in decorating it, and we enjoyed it.

When we got this tree, I was already in gradeschool and Ate Aby was in highschool. Krista, I dunno, she was also in her early years in gradeschool, but it's always been me and Ate Aby who help in decorating the tree. When we got this one we would still help decorating it but with less enthusiasm. Maybe we just got tired of helping. Maybe we have outgrown Christmas.

As the years went by, Ate Aby and I wouldn't even help at all. We would just go on with our lives and leave the task of decorating the tree to my mom and aunt, my mom's elder sister who we, her nephews and nieces, all call Ninang kahit hindi naman talaga namen siya ninang. Each year they would experiment with different motifs. They would try out styles which were definitely more sophisticated than our little rats with Santa's cap. Sure, our tree was always lovely to look at, but in my heart of hearts, it is thoughtless compared to our decors.

This year though, my different pakulo si Ate Aby. She gave out this pink paper because for the past 5 years or so pink na lang lagi ang motif ng tree namen. My mom and aunt got tired of buying new decors na rin siguro or maybe nagcocost cutting lang sila ahaha. Ate Aby asked us to write down our Christmas wish list and hang it in the tree. Syempre, ever so materialistic, puro kaluhuan ang sinulat namen ahahaha!!!

Here's Ate Aby's list:

- Sogo/ Soen panties
- Playtex/ Triumph bras
- Mp3 player/ Ipod Shuffle
- ankle socks
- hankies
- shorts/ boxers pambahay
- Lacoste/ Esprit purse
- diamond stud earrings
- Arnold Arre's Trip to Tagaytay
- big cologne/ perfume
- facial and nose pack
- digicam
- cash
- gift certificate/ cheque

Ambisyosa ang babaita ahahahha!! As if. Here's Krista, my other sister's list:

- Da Vinci shirt (green/ brown, medium size at Artworks)
- Haviannas (which I already bought for her.)
- Bodyshop's Musk
- slingbag
- boardshorts
- sweats
- bracelet
- foot spa kit

Here's my mom's list:

You ask why maba? It's a family joke. My mother's other brothers and sisters see her as the family matriarch because she looks so much like their mother. So ang tawag ng mga pinsan namen sa mom ko is maba which means mommy taba ahhahaha!

- white capris
- silver anklet
- cologne (which I already got for her. Viktoria Secret's Amber Romance.)
- peace on earth (Miss Congeniality ang aura?!!)
- hankies
- light green blouse

My bitchy Auntie Ochie's list. Swear, this girl has an attitude. I mean she's nice naman and all, pero talaga minsan naiinis ako sa kanya gusto ko siyang patayin. I so hate it when I'm online, and she wants to use the phone, gusto niya agad agad that she will pick up the phone so syempre mapuputol ako di'ba. Talagang sumisigaw ako to the highest heavens na maghintay siya. But anyway, since Christmas naman, next year ko na lang siya wawarlahin ahahaha! Here's her list:

- Marks and Spencer powder
- Islander slippers (brown/ black)
- Bodyshop lip and cheek tint (Sayang wala ng buy 1 take 1, ayun sana bibigay ko sa kanya pero 'yung isa sa akin ahahaha!)
- Canon pink bath towel
- big pillows

And here's mine:

- DVDs on my wish list
- light yellow or pink Havainnas
- Bodyshop's Of A Man cologne
- cow stuff with cow spots (But of course! Haha!)
- big, fluffy pillows

But when we saw Ninang's list, naguilty kaming lahat ahahhaha!! Hay, Ninang, ever so religious and pious. She's a teacher in one of the public schools here in Pasig. She never got married and is very much devoted to her job, so much so that even when she was offered to be the principal of the school, she declined it. Pero huwag ka, kapag may bagyo, siya ang unang unang nagwiwish na walang pasok ahahaha! Lahat kaming magpipinsan call her Ninang kahit hindi namen talaga siya ninang. Kase she's Ate Aby's ninang talaga, e Ate Aby is the first pamangkin and apo on my mother's side of the family. So my Ate Aby would call her Ninang and nakigaya naman ako because syempre maliit pa ako nu'n. I was the 2nd apo, and I didn't know the concept ng mga ninong ninang na 'yan, kala ko 'yung lang talaga ang tawag sa kanya ahahaha. Hanggang everybody calls her ninang na rin. Here's her list:

- service oriented and prayerful life
- peace and harmony among people of the world
- political stability in out country
- more angels to care for orphaned street children
- peace and prosperity for our family
- stable job for Jojo (My uncle who has 6 kids and who finds it hard keeping a job. He's been everywhere pero wala. Wawa naman kids niya.)
- good health and wisdom
- more patience and understanding

O say?! Bait baitan ahahhaha! I'm planning to give her a CD of church songs.

I hope this Christmas will be a fun one. Sometimes I wish that I'm a kid again rediscovering the real spirit of Christmas.
